KNOW YOURSELF to find THE HIDDEN IDENTITY

Dont allow your mind to be busy with the world (dunya). Let yourself be with Allah

Subhana wa Tala. Let your thinking and everything else be of Him. ou are a human

being and as su!h" the highest and most valuable of all !reatures. ou are honour

to Allah" be!ause you are !reated to be His servants. Honour is only for those who

are in servant hood" and they will have many #eo#le !oming after them" trying to

make them ba!k off and to turn them away from their way. This is all they will ever be

able to do" as they !annot take your heart in their gras# with their hands. They may

rea!h to your #hysi!al body and take that away" but the $man (!ertitude or belief) in

your heart they !annot even tou!h.

our heart must either be with Allah" or with dunya (the world). %ne or the other. $f it

is with dunya" then their hands may rea!h to s&uee'e you. ut if your heart is with

Allah Subhana wa Tala then they !annot rea!h to you. He will #rote!t you so that

they are not able to rea!h to you. $f your heart is with Allah" then your #hysi!al

bodies a!tions will never harm you. ever*

ou !annot imagine being !lose to Allah Almighty" #hysi!ally" but when you are

kee#ing your soul (heart) with Allah Almighty" then you be!ome !loser to His Divine

+resen!e" and that !arries your body to be also in the Divine +resen!e. ut if you

follow your #hysi!al desires" your soul !annot !arry you to the Divine +resen!e.

Those really alive are living with Allah.

At least when we #ray we must try to be with Allah Almighty" then it will be s#reading

after the #rayer" and the blessings will be running through all of our a!tions

throughout the twenty, four hours in a day. Honour is for -alive #eo#le. e made an

oath on the Day of +romises" to Allah" that we would be with Him" and not leave Him.

ut now that we are here" we are leaving Him. Honour for believers" de#ends on their

ur (Divine Lights). Their rank and !loseness to Allah" here and in the hereafter"

de#ends u#on it. So we must look for ur.

There is not one moment even be it for the duration of a blink of an eye that the Holy

+ro#het /uhammad (sal) is not with Allah. $f he is not with Allah" then with whom

should he be0 hat else is there more im#ortant than to be with Allah0 $s there

anything that gives higher honour that to sit with Allah0 Allah Almighty is saying" 1$

am sitting with the one who is remembering me02 (hadith). $f you are with Allah" Allah

will be with you and this is what is re&uired from you. Say" 1% my Lord" ou are that

whi!h $ am asking for.2 This should be your aim.Someone who is intending to go

somewhere" always has his destination as his aim and in his sight. our aim must be

    to rea!h to the %!ean of 3nity.

All diffi!ulties and #roblems are due to being distant from Allah. The one who is far

from Allah" is not with Allah. The reason for all diffi!ulties" sins" de#ressions" worries

and all dangers in this world" and in the hereafter" is from being far away from Allah.

All #roblems and !om#laints !ome from being far away from Allah.

As for him who rea!hes to the %!eans of 3nity" it be!omes that he is with Allah. $t is

like a dro# of water falling into the o!ean" !oming !loser and !loser to the o!ean" and

when it enters the %!ean" nothing is left of this dro# of water. All Sufi %rders"es#e!ially the a&shabandi Tari&a" en!ourages #eo#le" to ask to be with Allah. He is

THE PERFECT METHOD amongst THE MILLIONS OF WRONG WAYS

hen is a #erson going to find #ea!e within himself0 That is the &uestion. es" that isthe thing that our sister has in her heart.

    9ivers run until they rea!h o!eans" struggling" running" until rea!hing an o!ean or a

sea< then its over" finished. hoever asks to find #ea!e within himself must also rea!h

an o!ean or a sea or at least a lake< it doesnt matter" be!ause a lake is also firm in its

#la!e. ut everyone is moving and struggling. Therefore everyone is running here

and there every day< they are struggling and running to and fro from morning to night

    and from night to morning.

There are two ways in whi!h a #erson may find rest. %ne of them is through natural

death. 3ntil death a #erson struggles. hen he dies his arms and legs are s#read outand he is laid to rest and there is no more struggling. A!!ording to his station he has

    rea!hed #ea!e.

es his #ea!e by natural death maybe only for his #hysi!al body as still he has not

rea!hed real #ea!e in his S#irit. Therefore" we must ask for #ea!e from both sides" for

our #hysi!al bodies and our s#iritual bodies. %ur #hysi!al bodies will rea!h to #ea!e by

death" natural death. Then the body is going to be in #ea!e" no more movement" no

more struggling. ut we must look also after our soul" whether it has rea!hed #ea!e or

not" whether struggling is still going in the soul or or not.

    8or this reason" the +ro#het /uhammad (sal) said" 1Die before you die.2 This is whatmakes a #erson to rea!h to s#iritual #ea!e and satisfa!tion" to true #ea!e and

satisfa!tion. %ur #hysi!al body may die" but as yet we havent attained our s#iritual

#ea!e. Therefore" the one who is asking for real #ea!e within himself must try the ways

of those who have attained real #ea!e in their s#iritual bodies" and the +ro#hets

advi!e to his nation" to ourselves" is to die before natural death !omes u#on us.

    %nly a few #eo#le may be e&ual in their bodily #ea!e and s#iritual #ea!e be!ause most

#eo#le are destroying their s#iritual #ea!e by running after the #hysi!al bodys #ea!e.

    $t is im#ossible for a #erson" without rea!hing his s#iritual #ea!e" to rea!h to bodily

#ea!e until natural death !omes. ut even at the time of death there is no benefit at

that time" be!ause even if you find #ea!e in your #hysi!al body your s#iritual body isstill struggling and suffering. Then" from the day of ones death u# to the Day of

9esurre!tion" in your hayar bar'akhi" the intermediate life between the eternal life and

this worlds life" those troubles and struggles may still !ontinue. +erha#s it may

!ontinue even on the Day of 9esurre!tion" and it may be more than this also. %ne may

be in hell" struggling and suffering for a #eriod until he rea!hes to the %!ean that he

    was given in #re,eternity.

Therefore" the most im#ortant thing that we must know !on!erns our absolute #ea!e

and when and how is it going to be. 3ntil you rea!h to that %!ean whi!h Allah Almighty

gave you in #re,eternity" you are going to struggle and suffer" and you may be in hell

during this life and in the grave and on the Day of 9esurre!tion" and then finally in hellitself also" be!ause it is im#ossible to find #ea!e without rea!hing your homeland in that

    4/14

%!ean. ut then we are always still running and still struggling.

e give sufferings to ourselves be!ause we use wrong methods to a!&uire #ea!e or to

    rea!h #ea!e. Sometimes s!ientists #re#are a ro!ket to go u# but it turns and falls

ba!k. Like this so many #eo#le are now using wrong methods" so that instead of going

u#" they !ome down = a !rash landing" a falling ba!k. %nly some small fault" even asim#le wrong thing" may do that. Therefore we must be very !areful" when we use a

method" as to whether it is #erfe!t or not.

e are trying to give a #erfe!t method to everyone who is asking to rea!h #ea!e" to

    real #ea!e" to real satisfa!tion be!ause rea!hing to this #ea!e and satisfa!tion is the

destination of everybody. ou may take a train from London u# to 4dinburgh and on

you way there may be one hundred stations and at ea!h station some #eo#le get out

be!ause everyone knows his destination. $f you get out before 4dinburgh you will not

be satisfied" you will say" 1%h" we !ame to some other #la!e. This is not our

destination.2 $f you get stru!k and remain in that station" you are going to suffer forever

    be!ause you have rea!hed a wrong destination.

Therefore" we must know our destination" and then we must take a ti!ket to that station"

not to a station before it nor after it. oth kinds of these #eo#le who lose their

destinations" suffer here and in the hereafter. Therefore a #erson must do everything

to save himself from arriving at the wrong station. He must do something or he must

suffer long" in order to find a way to his original destination. $t is therefore terrible and

dangerous for a #erson not to look at his destination. He must look out for his

destination and must use the right method to rea!h his destination otherwise he will not

attain #ea!e< he will never attain it.

$n our time" #eo#le are using so many wrong methods. They do not understand" orthey do not even know" where is the beginning and what is the end< :ust like a as a blind

#erson does understand where he is or to where he is going. Therefore guidan!e is

ne!essary and the most im#ortant thing for a #erson throughout his life is to find a true

guide. A true guide !an be known when your soul is in #ea!e and satisfa!tion with him.

That is the sign" the real sign> to feel #ea!e and satisfa!tion with him in your heart. $f

you are still in doubt" hesitant" it means that something is wrong with that #erson and

you must look for some other guide. $f your heart is not in #ea!e with his method" you

must not follow that way. There are so many ways. ou must try to find another guide

and so on until you rea!h #ea!e in your heart with that #erson. Then it should be all

    right for you.

Then this is the way to attain #ea!e" to die before dying. This means that when you

find a guide" you must be with him. ou must not !arry about a different #ersonality

from his but must agree to be one with him" one unit. ou !ant !arry about another

#ersonality from your guides< you must melt your #ersonality in his #ersonality and you

must a##ear as himself. Then you will be all right.

%n!e a #erson !ame to a ;randsheikh and kno!ked at his door. The ;randsheikh

    asked"

    1ho is there02

    1$brahim"2 the man said. 1$t is $.2

  • 8/12/2019 Know Yourself to Find the Hidden Identity

    5/14

    1$" $" $" always saying $2" said the ;randsheikh

1$02 the ;randsheikh answered 1/y #la!e is only for one" not for two. ;o away.2

So that #erson had to go away. After one year however he tried again. He !ame andkno!ked at the door.

1ho is there02 the grandsheikh asked.

1ou" you"2 he answered this time

1As you said" 1ou"2 you may now !ome in.2 re#lied the ;randsheikh.

Therefore" the first !ondition for a #erson who is asking to rea!h real #ea!e is that he

must give himself" all that he is !arrying" to #ut it into his guide. His guide !an take it

and !arry it. hen you are going to be in your guide that is the way to rea!h to yourdestination.

6onsider an air#lane. $t may hold one hundred or two hundred or even three hundred

#assengers" but when it flies you !an see only one :et #lane. ou do not see the three

hundred #ersons inside it< you !an see only that it is a #lane" flying. The #lane takes

all those #eo#le into itself" finished. Therefore" when you take a guide to your

destination" you !an be in him< you !an give yourself u#to him. our selfhood must be

given u#. ou must !onsider yourself as a dro# and when it rea!hes the %!ean there

is no more dro# = finished. ou leave being that dro# and you be!ome the %!ean.

That is #ea!e. hen that dro# falls into the %!ean" !an you take it out" !an you find it08inished< it is all %!ean. Therefore" #ea!e is not to be found without leaving your dro#

in that o!ean. And your guide may be a lake or he may be a sea" but they all run into

%!eans" also. That is im#ortant. hen we say" 1Die before you die"2 this is the

meaning of how !an one die before his natural death

1$s the one who was dead and then e brought him ba!k to life" and made for him a

light with whi!h to walk among men" like the one who is in darkness from whi!h he

    !annot emerge02 ?uran @>BB.

ou give your #ersonality to your guide< yes" you throw your #ersonality into your guide

s #ersonality" and then you say" 1$ am no longer in e7isten!e"2 finished. hen you lookat your guide" you see yourself in him and when he looks at you" he looks at himself"

and we = we rea!hed our s#iritual #ea!e. ou may find it during your short lifetime in

this life. ut if you do not use true" !orre!t methods and you go wrong" you will always

go far away from #ea!e. $nstead of running toward %!eans" you will be running toward

    deserts.

Therefore" anyone who thinks about #ea!e and ha##iness and satisfa!tion and

#leasure and endless en:oyment must look after his s#iritual lifes #ea!e" and this is

im#ossible for a #erson if he does not find an %!ean and run into it. To do this is so

hard be!ause our egos are always too #roud to surrender. This is the most diffi!ult

#ro#osition that !an be made to our nafs< the most diffi!ult thing for the nafs is to #ut its

#ersonality aside and agree to be with anothers. $t holds onto its #ersonality very

    Divine +resen!e.

Allah knows best how a #erson may rea!h his destination after death. hen a #erson

sees that he embarked at a wrong station he shall run this way and that in order to

find a way to get out" but it is not that easy. Therefore" take your !are as mu!h as you

!an during this life if you are not drunken ones< if you are drunk" you !ant take !are"you !ant look after anything. ou may ask from your Lord. 1% my Lord" $ am asking

from ou. $ am asking a guide to rea!h ou" the %!ean of %!eans. $ am asking for

    ou2.

Ask from our Lord sin!erely. hen you ask sin!erely" he may send to you one of His

beloved servants to take you to your destination.

    RIDE YOUR EGO

    to

    REACH TO THE DIINE PRESENCE

/ay Allah not leave us in the hands of our dirty ego. eware of your ego. $t is your

biggest enemy" !utting off your way to Allah. $t says" 1Serve me"2 1ow to me"2 and

1Leave every will and desire e7!e#t for mine.2 1$ am everything" and your are my slave.2

orshi# and fasting is to take away your ego. To make it weak" then die. This is

be!ause as long as your ego gives orders" and you are working under its !ommand"

you wont be able to rea!h to anything from the Divine +resen!e. There is only one

Sultan and you must be His servant.

Tari&at is training for rea!hing to good manners. ou must forget and o##ose your

ego" and then a!!e#t and be ha##y with the ill of your Lord. Dont be heedless of

glorifying your Lord" be!ause then you will be im#risoned by your dirty ego" like a lion

in a !age. 8or every moment that you are heedless" some damage or #unishment

!omes to you. 4ven a short moment may be!ome a !urse on you.

All #eo#le are so friendly with their egos. Theyask of it" 1hat are you ordering02 1%

my ego" % my sultan"2 1hatever you want" hatever you wish" $ must #re#are it for

you2 1$ am your slave and you are my Sultan.28inally" they will die" and their bodies will

have a bad smell. The ego is a fully foolish one" but he is introdu!ing himself as a

mighty one. $t says" 1ou must obey me"2 1$ dont like any #artner.2 1$ am the first and $

am the last for you.2 1All res#e!t and #raise that you give must be for me.2 +eo#le are

mostly la'y" and they are following their ego. (whi!h is the la'iest one amongst

    !reatures.)

our #hysi!al being !annot rea!h to the vastness of the world. ut your s#iritual being"

that is something else. As mu!h as we grant it more" from heavenly worlds" our s#iritual

being may rea!h to this vastness. $n the beginning" when Allah Almighty !reated our

nafs" He said" 1;o forward"2 and the nafs went ba!k. That is its nature" never to a!!e#t

its Lords !ommands. Allah Almighty honoured man to be His servants" and his nafs

always !omes in the way" to #revent him from obeying his Lord.

4very +ro#het" brought methods from Allah Almighty" for training our ego so that we

!an say" 1% my Lord" $ surrender to you.2 ut your ego says to Allah" 1o" $ will not

surrender.2 hen Allah asked our ego" 1ho are you02" the ego answered" 1$ ammyself" and you are yourself.2 1ou are ou" and $ am myself.2 So Allah Almighty

ordered for the ego to be #ut in fire for one thousand years. He then took the ego out

and asked it the same &uestion. The ego re#lied" 1ou are ou and $ am that me.2 So

he was ordered to be #ut into the !old hell for one thousand years" after whi!h he was

asked" 1ho are you02 and it answered in the same way as before. Then it was

ordered to be #ut into the valley of hunger for one thousand years" after whi!h he was

again !alled and asked again this same &uestion" and this time it re#lied" 1ou are my

Lord" and $ am your servant.2

The ego always says" 1$ have Lordshi#.2 Lordshi# is only for Allah. e are servants"

but we do not want to de!lare that we are su!h* The +ro#het /uhammad (sal) broughtthe order from Allah for fasting. hen it !omers to hunger the ego !omes down" and

says" 1o longer am $ !laiming to be Lord in front of you.2 1$ am your weak servant" and

you are my Lord.2 The one who !ant !ontrol himself" is terrible and dangerous.

8asting gives you the !a#ability to #ut !ontrol on your ego" so that it listens to you. ou

may say" 1do2 and it does" or say" 1Sto#"2 and it sto#s. Therefore" from the beginning

u# to the end" fasting is the main #illar of servanthood. ithout it no one may rea!h to

be a real servant" be!ause the ego is always winning otherwise. $t takes a ride on your

    ba!k and says" 18ollow me.2

Cee# !ontrol of yourself" and try to have !ontrol of your ego. /ay Allah forgive us and

give us the #ower and !a#ability to !ontrol our egos.

$f Allah Almighty ordered for us to take a feather" or a flower" five times a day inside a

mos&ue" or even :ust from one room to another" the ego would still ob:e!t and say" 1$t is

diffi!ult"2 and" 18or what is this02 our ego makes you to fear. $t says" 1$ !ant !ontrol

anger.2 To swallow it at the beginning seems so diffi!ult" but if you #ersist with the

intention to swallow it" it will finally make you ha##y. ou will say" 1%oh" it is so sweet" to

kee# myself from the harm of anger.2

Allah is asking that we move u# to heavenly levels" from worldly levels. The ego" en:oys

worldly things" not s#iritual things. (As the night does not benefit from the sun). Turn

your body to fa!e ?ibla" and your soul to fa!e heavens (Allah). The biggest favour fromAllah is to be able to enter His divine #resen!e. This is our last wish and ho#e.

Ask to take away your ego" and what it is looking to. Sto# asking to en:oy this world.

He knows when we s#end our #hysi!al #ower" for something whi!h is not for Him" but for

our egos ha##iness. e do this during the whole day" but our egos are never !ontent.

As mu!h as you are working for your ego that mu!h will be the burden you !arry and it

will be heavy. e do !ountless a!ts for the ego" and the ego ends u# saying" 1Ahh*

what have you done for me02 4ven if you were to work twenty, four hours a day to

satisfy your ego" he will still say that you are a la'y one.

$f anyone were to give for Allah" what they give for their ego" they would be able to fly.

ou are more than a slave of your ego" but it says that you take no !are for it. $t is very

im#ortant to know that your ego (nafs) will never be #leased with you. ut if you were to

do :ust a small #art of what you have been doing for your ego" for Allah instead" He will

give you #leasure" satisfa!tion and ho#e through your heart" whi!h will then run

through your entire #hysi!al body. hi!h means your #hysi!al body will never die" or

go to dust. $n the grave it will never smell bad" and you will arrive on 5udgment Day withthe same body you had in this life. The will not be for others.. $t will be known who the

real believers" in Divine Servi!e" were and who were for the servi!e of their egos.

The one who is s#ending his lifes #owers for Divine Servi!e will be honoured. /y

;randsheikh Abdullah said that #eo#le are either asking to manifest themselves" or to

vanish themselves. This is the summary of all shariats (heavenly laws). Take good

!are of this. 4very #erson is doing one of these two things. /aking his ego to grow u#"

or making it to vanish. hat a #erson does is either the manifestation of his own

e7isten!e" or the vanishing of his own e7isten!e. 4veryones ego likes to manifest its

e7isten!e" and it uses every #ossibility to bring itself into e7isten!e and say" 1$ am

here.2 The other !hoi!e is to vanish from your own e7isten!e. ut mostly #eo#le" wemay say ninety, nine from one hundred" #refer to manifest themselves.

Allah Almighty desires from His servants" that they make themselves to vanish ($fnaal,

u:ud) ou have to !hoose between these two things, to be with your animal" or to be

with your Lord. The #erson who loves to manifest his ego !an be thrown away with the

rubbish. He is useless. hy do you think #eo#le are relu!tant to !ome into Tari&at0

$f you stay with yourself" you !ant enter the 9eal +resen!e. erily the ;od,fearing are

in #aradises" with rivers flowing" in a #osition of sin!erity" in the #resen!e of The All

+owerful Cing (?uran). Al,/uktadi. The All +owerful. This name of Allah has an

unrea!hable meaning" even to all +ro#hets" or by the #ower of all Awliya and 5inn.

How many #eo#le have u#to date died with their egos" and were buried with their

animal0 hen you agree to leave your ego" our ;randsheikh will say" 1/ost wel!ome

to our tari&at.2 To enter the Holy +ro#het /uhammads (sal) #resen!e" it is obligatory to

vanish your ego. 8or #ur#ose do you think you are making 'ikr" kee#ing to your awrad"

#raying at night and fasting in the day0 Still the evil and dirty ego sits on your ba!k and

with every ste# you take" it says" 1$ am here" $ am here" $ am here.2 Therefore you are

    on the lowest level.

/anifestation (ithbat) or anishing (ifna) the ego is the #oint. The murid should de!ide

between one of these two. $f he leaves his ego" he will be with his Sheikh" with the Holy+ro#het /uhammad (sal) and with Allah Almighty. $n the Human there is nafs (ego).

The animals have nafs also" but their nafs are only for !ontrolling themselves and their

off s#ring. The animals nafs is used as an instin!t. ithout it they would not even be

able to eat. The wish or desire" to eat" drink" and to !ontinue their s#e!ies" !omes from

    nafs.

ut the ego (nafs) is a test for humankind" so that they may win high stations" (or not).

ho resists the ego rea!hes to higher Sriritual Stations, /a&ams. There is something

to gain. 4veryone must ask for more #ower to save their s#irituality and souls from their

egos im#risonment. The ego is assaulting our s#iritual being and is never leaving it to

take heavenly su##ort" or to rea!h to the level of 9eal elievers. Therefore we are in

need at o!!asion" to ask for mu!h more su##ort" and food for our s#irituality.%ur

Allal Almighty says" 13se your ego (nafs)" and !ome to me.2
