ACT 11.

SCENE 11A.

EXT. SHOT 1 CIRCUS TENT.1B.

Father and child confrontation. Father puts hand on child’s shoulder.

FATHER:Son, you need to practice. If you don’t practice, you will not succeed.

CHILD:I am, Dad. I will try.

FATHER:(Sternly) Do or do not, there is no try.

CHILD:Yes Father.

Father grasps his child’s shoulders and turns him around to face his practice area. Child practices holding and throwing knives at a target. His father still with his hand on his shoulder, steps back into the shadows.

*MONTAGE BEGINS*1M.

SCENE 21N.

Child is ‘’training’’ and scenes are cutting as part of the montage. He is getting older. His skills are displayed as good but he begins to show that he is no longer enjoying the act.

CHILD NOW ADULT:Why am I doing this? My Father wants me to be good, but I feel this isn’t my calling.

He throws a knife unenthusiastically. Barely hitting the target. He throws another slightly more angrily, the knife misses the target and hits something solid off-screen. He begins to walk towards where the knife hit.

CUT1S.

He throws another and he flinches as a scream his heard. Camera focus on him showing that he is slightly shocked. He raises his hand.

ADULT:Sorry!

He looks around trying to find that missing knife as he is going to need more to continue his practice.

CUT1X.

Picks up another and throws it, the knife hits handle first on the board. He sighs. He spots the knife he threw that missed embedded in the wall.

CUT1Z.

Still frame of another circus act taking a sandwich and about to take a bite when a knife pierces the sandwich knocking it from the gentleman’s hand. The man looks to the camera and pulls a sad

face.

CUT1\.

He throws his final knife and it bounces of the knife that is already in the target.

CUT.1^.

Camera focuses on the first knife that missed embedded in the wall.

CUT1`.

Adult walks towards the knife his vision focussing as he gets closer (First person view). Light illuminates the poster with knife stuck in it. Focus on adult’s face he tilts his head slightly frowning. Still frame of his face as he slowly realises what he is looking at.

CUT1b.

Camera pans around the environment is dull and dark. Suddenly bright lights illuminate certain objects of food.

CUT1d.

Adult’s face lights up in realisation.

CUT1f.

Looks down at the knife in his hand and to the one with the sandwich then back to the one in his hand.

CUT1h.

Camera pans around lighting where his knives have landed. One being where a Clown hobbles holding his leg, red substance stain

his pants. He pulls the knife out and then pulls a crumbled burger from his pocket he brandishes his fist and shouts.

CLOWN:MY BURGER! YOU KILLED MY BURGER!

FADE OUT.1l.

SCENE 31m.

‘’THREE WEEKS LATER’’

First person view of preparing food. Looks up to see same clown walking towards him, sitting at the counter.

CLOWN:Hey, I’ll have a Cheese burger with ketchup please.

CHEF:Coming right up!

Burger is prepared and handed over in first person view. Camera pans round to look at the face of the chef, shown to be the adult, he smiles at the camera, he picks up a knife and throws it off camera. Camera pans quickly to the magnetic knife board and the knife latches to it.
