RESPECT ( What is it?)

-The notion of respect drives gang life almost completely, and for many gang members, gaining respect means committing violent crimes.-"It comes down to respect. They have to know this is our place, our estate." (the mirror)

-Whilst some youths carry knives to make them 'feel big' or to 'earn respect' most young people confess to carrying a knife for protection.

-The older generation talk about respect for elders, and entreat young people to “show some respect!”

PLAYGROUND PITCH PROJECTION

DARKER CORNER OF ESTATE BUILDING

INTERACTIVE PROJECTION, AS THE AUDIENCE WALKS PAST THE PROJECTION BEGINS

My research has showed me that most knife crime offences happen in estate, so I wanted to make the my environment. Also most of these crimes are coming in the cover of darkness and this is when my event will be most active. The projections will be panned up and down the estate blocks making the viewer notice it.

How? (solution)

WebsiteWith the event there will be a ongoing website running. The website is designed so that the viewers can upload their own messages. The most interesting messages will be put on to the buildings. As a reward the best messages will give the person the opportunity to see a live music artist.

Where?

I want to focus my event on Estates because that the area where my target audience is located. On the right you can see this council map which would be on of my target locations. Iʼve highlighted the area in where Iʼve started looking at for my projections. My plan is to one borough everyday.
