EnvEurope project• Proposes a design for environmental high

quality monitoring and long-term research sites

• Exemplary establishment of common parameter sets to be collected across LTER Europe network

• Based on existing infrastructures = lot of valuable date series

• Focuses on 3 types of ecosystems (terrestrial, marine and freshwater)



EnvEurope project

• Aims to select&collect data from E-LTER to provide information on environmental quality in respect of indicators and methodologies applied in main European networks (E-ELTER, EIONET, Natura2000, etc.

• Reorganise E-LTER network on the basis of suitable sites, reflecting ecological, political, economic stratification of Europe = will contribute to SEIS and GMES

– Site level metadata - LTER InfoBase metadata online entry point

– Dataset level metadata – no centralized metadata management tool, no online discoverable metadata

– Both levels are important for users

Conclusions&Future work
