The Northwest Flyers Youth Track Club will celebrate its 26th Anniversary Season by hosting its annual free information / registration breakfast on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013, for all boys, girls and their parents who are interested in joining for the 2013 track season. The breakfast starts promptly at 8:30 AM at the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center Forum located at 6823 Cypresswood Dr., Spring, TX, 77379.

The free breakfast is the opportunity for youth athletes to register for the club’s 2013 spring/summer track season, and to meet the Northwest Flyers coaches, staff, and other new and returning athletes. The event will be highlighted by a special presentation from a member of the USA Track & Field Olympic organization. All new parents and athletes interested in joining the Northwest Flyers must attend.

The Northwest Flyers Track Club is a youth (ages 6 -18) track club, affiliated with USA Track & Field (USATF), that provides a full program of sanctioned “track” events such as sprints, hurdles, middle distance, distance and relays, and sanctioned “field” events such as long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus and javelin. Brought to us by a neighbor…

One of our Kleinwood neighbors has suggested a new website: http://showmystreet.com/ It’s like Google’s Street View or Earth, but significantly faster. It’s worth a look.

EXPERIENCE MATTERS doing business for 30+ years.

My message goes out to the owner of two dogs who continually get out of their yard on Kleinwood Drive. Yesterday, I had to witness your dogs killing my neighbor’s cat. I ran outside and tried to help, but it was too late. The image will stay with me forever. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that!

Now my neighbor has lost her pet in a most gruesome way, not to mention all of the money spent over the years on getting the cat spayed, de-clawed, etc. (The cat was kept in the house or backyard and, unfortunately, had gotten out of the gate just that morning). If your dogs had not “escaped” their backyard once again, this poor cat would still be alive.

Be aware, Kleinwood residents of these two dogs-one is a tan colored, short haired hound and the other is a smaller dog with a darker sort of multi-colored coat. Many of you know which ones I’m talking about because you’ve seen them numerous times.

I’m not sure if my neighbor will file a report with the police or call animal control; I only know they have suffered a loss that didn’t have to happen.

To all dog owners-FIX YOUR FENCES AND GATES! Please don’t let something this hideous happen to someone’s pet on your street.

Anonymously Submitted

Our condolences to our neighbor that lost her cat and to our neighbor that witnessed this sad event. Please be advised that not all letters of a controversial nature will be published. The guidelines for publication include the absence of vulgarity, obscenity, name-calling, hate speech or specific identification. The Editor will exercise discretion in publication.

To the EditorThe following is a letter we received from a concerned resident:
