He also mentioned the completion of the high speed testing tower.

As a result, the company proceeded with the incorporation of a 100% owned subsidiary un-der the trade name “HONG KONG ELEVATOR SYSTEMS LIMITED” headquartered in Hong-Kong. The purpose is to expand the business

activities, in the wider region of Southeast Asia and Oceania.

For the last 12 months period, international sales of the group account for 54% of its turno-ver, which in combination with the constant development of its clientele, its distribution networks and its product range, makes the management optimistic regarding its future prospects.

Similarly, market conditions in Greece is tack-led with new policies such as the subsidy for old lift renovation program, the enhancement of its media communication program, the ex-pansion of its partners network specialized in complete lift systems and additional incentives for the promotion of its complete lift systems with the Kleemann design brand.

PARTICIPATION IN EXHIBITIONS / 03

Once again, KLEEMANN Hellas S.A. participated successfully in the 18th International Congress on Vertical Transportation Technologies, which was organized by the IAEE (International Association of Elevator Engineers) in Lucerne, Switzerland.

The congress was held from June 2nd to June 4th and attended by 170 participants from 21 countries. During the congress, lift industry professionals presented 46 specialized subject matters, covering issues of exceptional interest in the lift industry.

Significant importance was placed on issues regarding energy consumption, safety,

traffic analysis, building evacuation in case of emergency, as well as services rendered related to lifts.

KLEEMANN participated with 3 presentations pertaining to energy consumption of lifts, the new Machine Directive and its influence on the lift industry, and the improvement of vertical transportation on existing buildings.

Throughout the congress, participants also had the opportunity to visit a mini trade fair with exhibits from various lift manufacturers.

The 6th maintenance forum was organized on 14-16 October in Athens with the participation of international factors of maintenance sector and of research centers. For the third time, Kleemann was honored with the first distinction for its organizing, procedures and use of its computerized maintenance management system.

The maintenance of equipment and the company’s facilities is a significant factor of the production procedure that leads to the maximum availability of its equipment and to the very high quality of its products.

The practical training of 11 students from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, School of Mechanical Engineering, which took place at our company facilities in Kilkis was marked with great success.

For the third consecutive year, in an effort to promote the concept of training and development, not only within but also outside company boundaries, KLEEMANN organized a group of students (8 second-year, 2 fourth-year and 1 first-year) with an aim at introducing them to the demands of today’s manufacturing industry.

Through our 160-hour in-house technical training program, the students were given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the full breadth of business activities as well as

the organization and operations of industrial manufacturing.

The program they participated in was customized to their needs and included both theoretical and practical training.

Upon completion, the students expressed great satisfaction as they not only acquired theoretical knowledge regarding the manufacturing of lifts and their operation, but also had the opportunity to enter a manufacturing plant for the very first time and get involved in the production process.

Furthermore, the training program also included industry-specific subject matters such as Health and Safety, ISO, Order Entry, Marketing, etc.

A Special Elevator for the Kremlin, Russia

18 Lifts from KLEEMANN (Traction MRL & Hydraulic Lifts) have been installed at this stadium. Lansdowne Road, Dublin has been used as a sporting venue since 1876 but will stage its first major European club final after a revamp when the UEFA Europa League concludes on Wednesday 18 May 2011.

UEFA 2011 final: Dublin Arena

This unusual elevator is 4,6 meters tall and it is used for transferring materials for the creation of sets of theatrical plays, speeches, concerts, etc. It is a hydraulic lift with a a load capacity of 10 tons and it covers a 9 meter travelling distance.

It was manufactured by KLEEMANN, proving that we can find solutions even for the most demanding projects all over the world!

Atlas RPH, MRL traction lift with reduced pit and headroomAtlas RPH is a new machine room less traction lift, specially designed for installation and operation in shafts with reduced pit and headroom (minimum pit 370 mm, minimum headroom 2900 mm). Atlas RPH is equipped with all the necessary means of protection to ensure the total safety of the technicians working either in the pit or on the car roof. Atlas RPH is provided with an EC Type Examination Certificate according to the Directive 95/16/EC.

Atlas Basic, MRL traction liftAtlas Basic is the simplest version of the wide range of Atlas family. Atlas Basic maintains the high quality standards of Kleemann lifts with a very special price.

Atlas 2:1, cantilever typeThis year, KLEEMANN will be launching the new Atlas 2:1, cantilever traction MRL lift. The design of this lift is aiming to cover special cases such as cars with adjacent entrances or panoramic

New ATLAS MRL family products:

KLEEMANN’s R&D is now able to provide the possibility of installing a hydraulic lift in shafts with minimum width of 650 mm. This is achieved by using a specially designed car frame with guide rails that are very close to each other (350 mm). Moreover, this solution is also applicable in narrow shafts with reduced pit and headroom (minimum pit depth 250 mm, minimum headroom 2400 mm).

BREEAM: The Environmental Assessment Methodfor Buildings Around The World

What is BREEAM? BREEAM (BRE Environmental Assessment Method) is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. It sets the standard for best practice in sustainable design and has become the de facto measure used to describe a building’s environmental performance.Kleemann’s wide range of traction and hydraulic lifts can help your project achieve your required BREEAM rating. Two credits are available for the installation of energy efficient lifts. The following demonstrate compliance:

Credit 1:1. An analysis of transport demand and patterns for the building has been carried out by the design team to determine the optimum number and size of lifts and counterbalancing ratio on the basis of anticipated passenger demand. Kleemann can provide a traffic analysis for your building in order to determine the optimum design of the vertical transportation equipment.2. The energy consumption for at least two types of lift or lift strategy ‘fit for purpose’ has been estimated and the system with the lowest energy consumption specified.

Credit 2: (In order to achieve the second credit the first one shall be already achieved)Of the following energy efficient features, the

three that offer the greatest potential energy saving are specified:a. The lifts operate in a stand-by mode during off-peak and idle periods. For example the power side of the controller and other auxiliary equipment such as lift car lighting and ventilation fan switch off when the lift is not in motion.b. Where lift motors use a drive controller capable of variable speed, variable voltage, and variable frequency control of the drive motor.c. The lift has a regenerative unit so that energy generated by the lift (due to running up empty and down full) is returned back to the grid or used elsewhere on site.d. The lift car uses energy efficient lighting and display lighting (>60 Lumens/Watt or fittings that consume less than 5W e.g. LEDs).The Kleemann range of lifts meets the criteria for points a, b and d.Please note that each building is assessed on a case-by-case basis and the lifts will be undergoing an assessment as part of the main building assessment. Single ScissorGoods Platform: KLEEMANN’s single scissor goods platforms are designed according to the European Union Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and meet all requirements of the standard ΕΝ15.70 and the draft standard prEΝ81-31. They are suitable for the vertical transport of goods between two levels. Scissor Platforms are a reliable solution for industrial or commercial installation occupying minimal space.

Scissor Platform for Vehicles: KLEEMANN’s scissor lift platforms for vehicles are designed according to the European Union Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. They are used for the vertical transportation of vehicles between two levels (max travel 3.9m) where the construction of a cement ramp or a car lift is not possible. They serve vehicle and driver safely and reliably, occupying minimal space in the building.
