warm air bath, a tropical bath, an aroma

SaunaPUR® will automatically adjust the

humidity and temperature to your require-

At first glance there appears to

be virtually no difference between

a SANARIUM with SaunaPUR®

and a regular sauna. However, the relax-

ation experience it offers is thoroughly

out of the ordinary. By increasing the humid-

ity the SANARIUM® can maintain con-

stant perceived warmth even as the actual

temperature drops – and if you wish this

can be done by permeating the cabin with

aromatic steam. A further treat for the

senses comes in the form of the speaker inte-

grated into the humidity sensor, allowing

you to enjoy tranquil acoustic music, clas-

very easy to use so they do not interrupt

your relaxation: simply fill the SANARIUM

with SaunaPUR® with water, and the humid-

ity and temperature adjust automatically

you know it you are transported to the

also infuse the cabin with life-enhancing

fragrances during bathing, a soothing

Intensive. Then the program starts as soon

as you lean back. To ensure that the

infrared source can bring i ts beneficial

ef fects ful ly to bear, four SensoCare

sensors fitted in the infrared heater monitor

your skin temperature contact-free through-

out the program – and gently and fully auto-

matically adjust the intensity of the beam

to your body heat. Thanks to the sauna

heater the cabin can always be rapidly

warmed up to a comfortable temperature

of between 27 °C and 35 °C for even

the briefest infrared session. To ensure

a comfor table sit t ing position even on

the deepest sauna benches, the backrest

has several forward adjustment settings.

Afar as dimensions are concerned, the

SMARTSAUNA® is our smallest cabin.

Where it really comes into its own, how -

ever, is the way in which it reflects the spirit of the

age we live in. Simple self-assembly, pre-installed

technology, and convenient power socket con-

nection for saunas of up to 2 x 1.4 metres means

it can be erected in any room in two to three

hours and just as easily packed away and trans-

ported when moving house. For all those wish-

ing to save money on high-end products without

wishing to compromise on perfect workmanship,

smart design and state of the ar t technology.

of the sauna: The stable construc-

tion and the harmonious design

of the KLAFS HOME sauna, one of the

most reasonably priced RAL tested saunas

on the market, is a real eye catcher. The

high-quality fittings which come as stan-

dard and the extensive range of acces-

sories are a captivating adjunct to the

high level of quality. You are free to vary

the size of the sauna in 10 cm stages and

have the choice of natural spruce, white

varnished or hemlock external cladding. The

Casting a glance around the inte-

rior of a HOME, the first thing

to meet your eye wil l be the

high-quality internal cladding, fully fitted

in Scandinavian spruce or hemlock to

provide a par ticularly pleasant bathing

climate. There is a range of fur ther details

to lend weight to this favourable initial

impression: ergonom ic backrests, rounded

mouldings and the LUMA sauna lamp are

all a sight for sore eyes. A mere glance

at the wide benches with their back and

head rests is enough to imagine the com-

for t of actually lying on them. Hidden

from view, on the other hand, is the espe-

cially large 30 kg olivine stone capacity

of the PLURIS sauna heater, featuring solid

wood protectors and certified by the Ger-

man Association for Electrical, Electronic

& Information Technologies (VDE). But you

can feel it. The heater is easy to regulate

using the 18028 control unit and always

delivers the optimum sauna climate. The

only thing which could make your l i fe

more pleasant would be to opt for the

ext ra features of the SANARIUM with

As far as the KLAFS PREMIUM

sauna is concerned, “premium”

represents the individual sense

of style of its owner as well as denot ing

the particularly high quality of the sauna

cabin itself. This model offers such attrac-

tive and useful details such as ergonomi-

cally formed head and back rests, cover

panels between the benches and a stool

to enable easy access on to the sauna

benches. The interior walls are panelled

in Scandinavian spruce or, on request, in

Canadian hemlock. The control unit 18028

and the PLURIS sauna heater (both VDE

tested) work together with the KLAFS exhaust

air system to provide the ideal climate.

The PREMIUM Sauna achieves a truly

authentic effect when combined with our

SANARIUM with SaunaPUR®, which is also

available as the BONATHERM VS under-

bench system. 100 kg of olivine stones

combine with the SaunaPUR® function to

an impressive initial impact, can

be taken a step further with the optional

PREMIUM design package: a concealed

joint pitched roof lends the cabin addi-

tional height and makes the internal area

appear even more generously propor-

tioned. Special corner strips for the wall

and cei l ing joint and the mitred upper

corner bench ensure a smooth appear-

ance. The package also includes the strik-

ing DUET door handle in beech and alu-

minium, the OLYMP lamp and the DELUXE

T he outstanding adaptability of the

KLAFS PREMIUM sauna is apparent

from the very first glance. The right

size is available for every room, whether

you choose the four- or five-cornered

model, opt for the circular f loor plan or

wish to install your sauna in a corner of

cellar. The KLAFS PREMIUM sauna will

blend in with whichever room you select

and highlight the existing style of furnish-

ing whilst still managing to shine aestheti-

of external cladding varieties enables you

Classical SOFTLINE profi led woods in

natural or white varnished Scandinavian

There is also a choice of door heights,

wide or narrow window elements and

over. In the case of LOUNGE, building

a sauna to the highest standards has

involved placing a par ticular emphasis on the

highest possible quali ty of interior design. For

this reason, the only wood we were prepared

to consider for the wall cladding was pure and

knotless hemlock. Whether used in the generous

panelling seen here or in the classic SOFTLINE

profile, the wood from this Canadian hemlock fir

creates a elegant look no other wood can match,

as well as providing a salubrious bathing climate.

The successful combination of chic and sensible

elements has resulted in a sauna which is ready

Your input is requested for the exter-

nal design of the LOUNGE sauna.

Choose from a range of doors

and windows (to obtain the right level of

transparency) and design the room-high

external cladding in line with your own

taste too. Continuous hemlock panels or

classical wooden casing, natural or white

varnished spruce, the whole thing in dark

wenge wood or completely in white, with

frameless glass fronts straddling the cor-

ners – there are plenty of decisions to be

made. Shelves, storage racks and towel

hooks provide you with further opportuni-

ties to make an individual mark. As far as

the interior is concerned, we have taken

these decisions for you: clear forms, sim-

ple elegance, perfect workmanship are the

order of the day here. A “Zen inspired”

interior, providing emotional relaxation,

even if plenty of exciting innovations are

in evidence. Benches which seem to float

on air. Back rests featuring mitre cut cor-

ners. Avant-garde style head rests, made

from a single piece of wood. Further inno-

vations include the splendid door handle

and a light made from wood and glass.

The harmonious coordination of all the

elements involved generates a roundly

balanced mood which enjoys the comfort-

for one and all, we have summoned up

all our craftsmanship ability. There are, for

example, the innovative benches, particu-

larly roomy on the mid-level. Owing to their

case of the CHARISMA, we

have gone a step fur ther and integrated

the shower area. Without taking up excess

space, this model represents a significant

enhancement to its environment. Initial

at tention is drawn to i ts soft, aesthetic

forms: a boldly designed and protruding

door area, an extra wide glass door and

beauti fu l windows al lowing streams of

light to penetrate the interior. There are

comfortable sauna benches with ergonom i-

T he special charms of the BIORHYTHM

PRIVATE EDITION design sauna are

not limited to its extravagant opti-

cal appearance. This is a limited edition

sauna with a production run of only 111

models, making relaxation more desirable

than ever. Both the BIORHYTHM PRIVATE

EDITION and the spa and conference

landscape at the 5-star "Roomers" hotel in

Frankfurt are the work of designer and

interior architect Nik Schweiger. His idea

of "Biorhythm – Modern Recreation" is

reflected in every element of the sauna.

The materials used are combined with

form and light to present an overall and

holistic concept whilst the organic forms

and softly flowing transitions ensures that

the sauna achieves a unique effect in the

way it flatters the human body. Feast your

eyes on the surrounding slat design of the

WOOD

You don’t need to be an expert to know that

wood is the factor which determines the

quality of a sauna. Choosing the best mate-

rial for every application does, however, require

something in the way of experience. The knotless,

robust wood of the Canadian hemlock fir is the

most suitable for saunas and the SANARIUM®. It

does not warp, even under the most extreme of

conditions, and gives off even heat. It is extremely

durable, as well as being resin free and knotless.

Aspen wood is particularly well suited to infrared

heating cabins. As far as fitting the benches are

concerned, soft woods which do not spli t or

resinate and do not conduct much heat are most

appropriate.

MAJUS AND PLURIS

T he patented turbo heat function

allows our MAJUS sauna heater to

reach a temperature of 90 °C in

just 20 minutes, not only saving you time

when you spontaneously decide to take

a sauna, but also energy. Thanks to i ts

innovative air conduction system, when

the turbo heat flap is open, the MAJUS can

convey the heated air directly into the

cabin so that it starts warming up immedi-

ately. If instead you choose to keep the

turbo heat flap closed, the heater first

warms the stones it contains and these then

heat up the cabin in turn, generating a

pleasant radiant heat. For smaller saunas

with insufficient room for the MAJUS, our

super-compact PLURIS wall heater is the

ideal alternative. Its restrained design

integrates harmoniously with many of our

sauna models. Despite its compact dimen-

sions, its 30 kg sauna stone capacity

makes intensive raponsing possible. If

instead you opt for a SOFTCLIMA heater

design, the PLURIS adds variety to your

cabin’s appearance. One thing all our

heaters have in common is their high qual-

ity, safety and long service lives. Thanks

to their optimised air conduction, leading

to lower air outflow temperatures, they

create a climate perfectly conducive to

The BONATHERM underbench heating system provides a particularly favourable heat distribution.


The beneficial ef fect warmth can have is

visible in the satisfied smile on the faces

of al l sauna goers. I t is, however, not

absolutely necessary to see where this warmth

comes from. The BONATHERM underbench heat-

ing system shows its greatness by being small.

Fil led with 100 kg of sauna stones, it wil l pro-

vide even layering of temperature, a particularly

pleasant climate and is stowed away under the

bench to prevent children and others from touch-

ing it. This creates more room, and a surprise in

the form of the rapons ing flap integrated within

CIRCOTHERM

T o avoid the excitement of being in a KLAFS

sauna leading anyone to be short of breath,

the CIRCOTHERM venti lation system will

ensure a suf f icient exchange of air. A wooden

button with three settings enables the draught-free

stream of air to be regulated from the interior.

Academic studies have demonstrated the impor-

tance of the constant provision of fresh oxygen,

especially when things get really hot. With

CIRCOTHERM the the exhaust air vent can be

closed so that no energy gets lost. Enough to

make the environmental ly fr iendly sauna goer

breath a sigh of relief too.

CONTROL UNITS

A lthough the original Finnish saunas

offered a welcome change from

chilly everyday life, there were, in

fact, only two settings. Fire on or fire off:

nature took care of the rest. KLAFS sauna

control units, on the other hand, feature a

whole host of state of the art technology.

Microprocessors, phase controlled relay

switches and a diagnostic system all com-

bine to provide more comfor t, a longer

lifetime and a greater degree of safety.

Despite all the sophisticated electronics

involved, the large touch displays and

intuitive user interfaces of the 18029 and

18033 control units make them child's play

to operate and enable the perfect bathing

temperature to be checked at once. A

number of these intell igent devices also

have an individual programme and sever-

al standard programmes for sauna and

SANARIUM® operation, as well as auto-

matic programme recall for the climate you

selected during your last visi t. A t imer

feature enables you to arrive home to find

a perfectly heated sauna. These VDE test-

ed control units offer a range of conven-

ient functions, the SL 033 and SL 028

models, specif ical ly developed for the

SMARTSAUNA®, also being available in

miniature format. The benefits of a suc-

cessful combination of the original idea of

the sauna and state of the art technology

are reflected in the ease of operation of

the control units. KLAFS control units feature

D12 Oro Nero – the design variation

of the D12 modular glass steam bath.

And not just because for i ts enlivening

ef fects; the extravagant design from the

Henssler & Schultheiss designer team is

a stunner. This minimalist design concept

and the materials used: glass, aluminium

and stone. In contrast to that, floral gold

modern lives, electricity is all

around us, and even the human

body is awash with a veritable storm

of fine electrochemical impulses. These

offers the further convenience of being

able to use your smartphone or tablet as

a control unit which you can employ to

also allows you to keep an eye on your

you will also be able to use all your other

smartphone or tablet functions as usual,
