executive director described the AdaptiveSports Association (ASA) which conducts theprogram for our skiers and other people withdisabilities. Dave Spencer, a leg amputee,was the leader in establishment of ASA in1983 focusing on winter sports. In 1997, theirexpanded to year-around with sports ofskiing, snowboarding, rafting, kayaking, rockclimbing, canoeing, bicycling, and overnightcamping in the Durango area.
ASA has 5 full time and 4 part timeemployees and 300 volunteers. All our skiiersexpressed their gratitude for the very positiveand life changing experience whileparticipating in the skiing on Purgatory Hill.

Your board of directors approved thepurchase of Kiwanis caps for all members.They were distributed to members presentand members are encouraged to wear themat Kiwanis events, Culvers and PancakeBreakfast.
Fred Ross reported Ron Fiedler, formermember, has moved to a assisted facility.Jack Padgham, who has been hospitalized,moved back home at his Covenant residence.
Ken Saville circulated the signup for ourCapitol Christmas Pageant. Volunteers areneeded for setup on November 30 after ourFriday meeting and ushering and take downon December 2.

Scott Kramer reported signing up for thePancake Breakfast has been excellentincluding members, spouses and a granddaughter. The sign up list can be found on ourweb site and can be found on pages 3 -6 ofthis issue.
Ed Reisch reported Ed Reid and Ed Reischparticipated the Lunch Buddies at MidvaleSchool on October 24.
Brian Martin reported the campaign forRothe Memorial Leadership Scholarshipscontinues with a goal of raising $30,000.Members contributing/pledging are BillBattista, Bob Cropp, Bruce Dewey, VirgilJurrens, Scott Kramer, Ken Saville, ChuckStumpf and Leo Walsh. Payments can bemade to our foundation in care of VirgilJurrens. The scholarships will be for onestudent each from our student clubs:Madison West Hugh School and EdgewoodHigh School Key Clubs and the EdgewoodCollege Circle K Club. The scholarships willbe awarded annual at $1,000 each peryear.
