Kris, Bob Lima and Lee Walters are attending….SUPPLY DAY:   March 22 4th Tuesday of the month – bring in nonperishable food; toiletry items, socks, etc to be taken to Project Hope or the Alliance Food Pantry. SERVING THE HOMELESS: March 22nd   4 th Tuesday of the month – St. Vincent De Paul (401 15th St N) – Contact Lee Walters 319-8343BOOK CLEANING: Thursday  –MARCH 10….- Bring a cleaner and rags. New location: Off Ulmerton at Tall Pines Dr, Largo. (Where CEDCO was…ASK Jim Parker.)PANCAKE DAY..POW WOW FESTIVAL – March 12, 2011…7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (duty time between 5:30 -6:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) ONLY 3 AWAY!!!!!!

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS:Fred Flack –he is doing okay- just can’t get going in the early a.m. Mack and Mildred Graves - during difficult times.  Give the family strength in dealing with this debilitating disease.Kiwanis Breakfast Club - strength to support community projects and bring in new members.

MEETING NOTES: WE’RE OFF TO A GREAT START IN 2011….2 NEW

MEMBERS!!!!! o MARLENE JEHS was inducted. WELCOME, MARLENE!!!!! o TONYA SHAW – was inducted. WELCOME TONYA!!!!!! o Weekly Challenge -  Contact someone about Kiwanis. o Box Tops – to help support schools. Continue to save and bring in

to the meeting. Box tops collected were presented to Orange Grove Elementary

o Fundraiser I – Features sports activity frames/special/pictures-- Fund raiser continues.

o David gave an update on Pancake Breakfast; ONLY DAYS AWAY. Sent sign up sheets around; discussed golf carts, coolers, easels, supplies etc.

o K-KIDS PROJECT: Animal food collection ….

o Any word on “Smencils” as a K-Kids project? Don Bitting researching

o Two BUG programs have been delivered. Oakhurst Elementary and Orange Grove Elementary. Thanks DON!!!!! And Kris and all the other supporters!

o A proposal was made and approved to institute a Newsletter style brochure for the pancake breakfast that would list supporters and our club projects.

o Markus shared information of a District project to purchase a Van to give to the Proton Center in Jacksonville to transport families from the Ronald McDonald House to the center when children are there for treatment. The Foundation will match up to $10,000 of what the clubs contribute. Bob Root made a motion that our club give $200 to this cause, Tonya seconded and it passed by unanimous vote.

o Discussed Sponsor Levels for Pow Wow: Dave will e-mail letter to members to have handy for selling. Discussion followed to add Sunday to serve breakfast…Kris Lee and Don thought most of the supplies will already be on hand and will be simple to add another day. Bob Lima will ask Jim Sheets. Add flyer in the 5-K race….collect when registering…promote the additional day in all advertising.

o Kris passed out guest invitation cards. Ed Deering said we should get colleges and new teachers for new members.
