As well as the Kimoiri Mansion Teshirogi Family Residence and the Gogashira Mansion Toshima Family residence, both of which are prefecturally-designated cultural properties, storehouses for grain, miso bean paste and sake and other residential storehouses have been relocated and preserved here in Kura-no-Sato. .In the warehouse of a draper of the Meiji era, local products fresh from the farm are on sale. Entry of guide dogs allowed. C 3

The first brick storehouse in Kitakata, built with the most lavish of materials. The second floor has a balcony, which was rare at that time. Ceilings, transoms, columns, low tables, and braziers are all made of streaked persimmon, and this room is open to the public. (National Tangible Cultural property)"

K 3Mitsuya is a small village in which every household has a brick storehouse. The rows of amber-colored storehouses provide an exotic atmosphere. Some are open to the public (entrance fee required). Wakana Family Residence (National Tangible Cultural property) 

This displays a range of nostalgic trade items such as sales leaflets, calculating machines, and cash registers from Kitakata businesses in the middle of Japan's Showa period (1950s).

C 4A Kurazashiki built in the middle of the Meiji period and bidden by a wooden fence has been remodeled as a "shop of dreams," and this provides information about the city.

●Cultural propertys/Kannondo (important national cultural property), standing wooden statue of Fudo Myo-oh, standing wooden statue of Bishamonten, bronze bell (important prefectural cultural property)

●Long ago, this temple was said to be constructed to pray for the soul of Sugure-no-Mae, who died when traveling from Kyoto to Matsushima.

This village features rows of splendid agricultural storehouses with roofs resembling samurai helmets. The repeated corrugations in the double windows overlap, and the beauty of the interwoven shadows and light differs between each home, lending a certain individuality.

The Nitchu Railway had more than 90 years history with local residents' pressing for the construction of a national railroad, and since its closure, the old Atsushio station building has been operating as a museum displaying trains and related items. With 1 million adonis ramosa blooming over an approximaTel.y 5 hectare area, this is one of Japan’s largest such fields, drawing a great number of visitors every year. Peak viewing times are from late March through to early April.

● Numanodaira Adonis Fields

One of Japan's hundred famous mountains, this is an advanced climb, long a favorite of mountaineers. The route to the top has some very challenging spots, but the view from the top is breathtaking.

● Bandai-Asahi National Park Iide Mountain Range, Mt. Iide

In 1910, this was considered the leading iron bridge in East Asia. With a stone base, its length of 445m and height of 17m impresses even now. The sound of steam locomotives crossing the bridge invokes memories of times past, and this has been selected as one of the “30 sounds of Fukushima.” It is famous as a spot from which to view the steam trains.

An archaelogical dig conducted from 1996 to 1998 unearthed the ruins of a large ruling family residence, with rectangular partitioned buildings, storehouses, and religious establishments. This is one of the largest ruling family-related archaeological sites from the Kofun period that has been discovered in Japan to date. [Government-designated historical site]

● Furuyashiki Ruins (late 5th century - start of the 6th century)

At Danjo-ga-hara in 1882, citizens protested against the heavy-handed "Aizu Three Roads Excavation Plan" Fukushima Prefectural Ordinance by Michitsune Mishima, which ignored the rights of citizens. Here, well over a thousand citizens collected, a nascent democratic rights movement. In order to live, they demanded justice, the right to speak, and to be free of opression. ● Danjo-ga-hara [1882]

This is in Beppu hamlet, along the main route of the Yonezawa Kaido Road (Shimo Kaido) (Yonezawa Kaiido was one of the Aizu Gokaido Roads). The original shapes of both mounds remain largely unchanged. Milestones were established around the country from the Edo period, but few remain, making this a valuable historical relic of transportation in Aizu. [Prefecturally-designated historical site]
