CAPITAL PROJECTS ACCOUNTANTCapital Projects Accountant is responsible for providing basic support to the Capital Projects Department and ensuring accurate and complete accumulation of financial data for financial reports; support senior accounting staff and mentor Administrative Assistants.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related financial field with 1-3 years of relevant work experience required

Knowledge of computer based systems, generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to interpret and implement corporate policies andprocedure s are essential. JD Edwards experience a plus

General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.

Essential Functions

Assist Capital Project Accounting Manager with monthly accounting functions, including but not limited to month-end, quarter-end and year-end close and financial reporting, capital planning and AFE documentation, fixed asset accounting and operational cost analysis

Prepare and process journal entries related to a variety of accounting tasksAnalyze, interpret and reconcile information, such as balance sheet accounts, and capital asset

Respond to a variety of internal and external request regarding accounts payable and accounting information. Prepare communication materials, analysis and supporting documentation for a variety of accounting inquiries

SENIOR MINE ENGINEERThis position will be responsible for carrying out a full range of engineering functions, including, but not limited to: development of an accurate mineral model, generation of mineable pit designs, analyzing equipment needs, managing multiple projects, creation of alternative mine plans and evaluations of various operational scenarios with the goal of maximizing revenue.

Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

Experience in open pit mine planning or project management with B.S. in Mine Engineering or equivalent experience desired

Minimum of five years experience in a mining environment is preferred

Thorough working knowledge and skills with a computer utilizing word processing and spreadsheet programs

Experience in supervising personnel is preferred

Must have strong verbal, writing, analytical and presentation skills

Prior knowledge of equipment dispatch system(s) is preferred

Experience with Minesight 3D and Xeras financial modeling a plus

This position is currently working a day shift schedule

Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver license

CHIEF ENGINEERTo lead the execution of the strategy for engineering and to ensure alignment with the organization’s overall strategy. To ensure continued growth of engineering, to maximize operational efficiencies and profitability, and to cultivate exceptional stakeholder and employee satisfaction.

Executes short and intermediate-term strategies that the support the growth of engineering; ensures strategies are concretely linked to the organization’s overall strategy

Develops systems and measures that appropriately assess engineering’s performance and reviews progress to ensure achievement of targets

Manages the human, financial, and operational resources of engineering

Formulates the annual operating and capital budgets for engineering, consistent with financial guidelines and business planning process

Reviews daily operating plans with the Technical Services Manager and General Mine Foreman to establish production priorities. Coordinates engineering assignments with respect to those priorities, and assigns workloads to the engineering staff to ensure sufficient support for mine operations

Coordinates ore control, production reporting, project engineering, mine modeling, mine design, and mine planning activities with overall mine plans and production schedules

CHIEF ENGINEERDevelops / reviews quarterly, annual, and life-of-mine budgets for all mines within the operational unit

Represents the company in requests for bids to perform capital earthwork and site construction projects

Assists in the development of contract documents. Supervises contractors and engineers assigned to the contract. Coordinates the work of contractors and consultants as required

Manages tailings dam construction to ensure uninterrupted milling

Implements processes, policies, systems, and practices within engineering that maximize safety, operational efficiencies, and competitive advantage

Acts as a change agent and project sponsor for key initiatives; models organizational values, sets the cultural tone, and prioritizes business goals

Collaborates with senior management to identify and analyze business requirements and the implications for the team; identifies gaps and implements agreed upon solutions

Provides overall advice and technical perspective to the department and site management

Supervises the development and / or application of computer programs which allow the engineering section to operate more efficiently

CHIEF ENGINEERUpdates the Mine Manger and the General Manager with daily, weekly, and monthly reports

Formal professional designation in appropriate area of expertise
