The door to the future Education is the foundation for a thoughtful and successful adulthood. During their years at King’s, our students, and their parents, ultimately contemplate what they will do when they complete their studies here. Pupils from King’s have more choices than most, but that means considering those options carefully, measuring the benefits and optimising opportunities.

We all hope for a future replete with personal success – home, family, security, community – and achieving that success means becoming a thoughtful, strong and productive member of society.

The success of our alumni is a source of immense pride for me. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to the growth and education of young people and that doesn’t end when they finish their studies at King’s, but carries on throughout their university years and into their professional lives.

Sir Roger FryFounder and Chairman

Exposure to students from so many different countries at King’s College stirred a curiosity in me about how people live in different parts of the world.

Medicine and Science At King’s we encourage all pupils to embrace science not only as an intellectual discipline, but an exciting exploration of the world around them. Thinking creatively, while working hard within the scientific method is what achieves results. More than half of our students who choose to study science go on to one of the world’s top universities, such as Imperial, Cambridge, Edinburgh and Durham.

Studying at King’s offered me engaging classes which challenged me and really opened up my mind, especially to questions that encompass our daily lives. Physics enables me to understand (almost) everything, from how an aeroplane can fly, to why our universe exists in the first place. Studying at UCL is a dream, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my teachers at King’s College, who always valued our opinions and ideas in class, and made us feel like we mattered.

Maths and Engineering While a British education owes much to exploring ideas and using the imagination to solve problems, there is no substitute for a firm grounding in mathematical principles. Because King’s pupils achieve a high standard in Maths, they gain access to some of the worlds most prestigious universities, including Cambridge, Stanford, UCL and Imperial.

I am currently in my second year at the University of Warwick studying Electrical Engineering. Being Head Girl at King’s College Alicante made me want to have a position of responsibility at the university and contribute to changing something for the benefit of my peers. Thanks to the teachers at King’s, I pushed myself to the limit and I continue to do so. Without the dedication of my teachers, I would not have recognised the importance of working hard to get where one wants to be.

Business and Economics The most popular subject area for King’s pupils is Business and Economics with 22% of students going on to pursue this field of study. Practical business sense and the vision to design an economic future, these are the skills we engender in our Business and Economics pupils. Economics involves complex concepts and business brings practical experience to those concepts. Our teachers not only provide the academic grounding, but also open the doors to internships and corporate visits.

Neha Chetnani University of Bournemouth I have always been a very career-focused individual and upon completing my studies at King’s, I moved to the United Kingdom to start my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing at Bournemouth University. King’s College has made me a much more open person, I’m grateful for an education in which pupils were shown support and inspiration.

Humanities At King’s our teachers are experts in their fi elds. Whether it be in History, Language, Geography, or Literature, the humanities prepare young people for the more varied careers of the future. The children of today are unlikely to have only one profession during their working lives and the humanities provide them with a solid basis for lifelong learning. King’s pupils are bilingual, which puts them a step ahead of others, both in university choices and their careers.

With the help of the Sixth Form advisory team, who made the process of applying to university far less daunting and helped me take part in many extra-curricular activities around Madrid, the school has enabled me to develop my passion for Politics and to approach this subject, usually studied outside of the school curriculum, from diff erent angles. The opportunities that King’s has provided me with have been determining factors in achieving my dream to study at Cambridge.

Art, Design, Architecture Artistic endeavour is an essential part of a well-rounded education – and for some the discovery of a true vocation. At King’s we work to foster our pupils’ talents and then guide them towards a productive future for those talents. Design, Drama and Music all offer practical and rewarding careers to pupils and our experience can help them get into some of the world’s most prestigious universities. Our students go on to study at some of the world’s most distinguished arts schools including University of the Arts (London), Central St. Martin’s, Duke, and The Glasgow School of Art.

I loved and cherished dearly the two years I spent at King’s College Saint Michaels and consider the tutors my adoptive parents. Saint Michaels helped me to become who I am and I will forever be thankful for the most amazing memories and for the values I was taught. Without my teachers always being there, I would not have made it to where I am today, the Director of the Legal and Marketing Department in a furniture and construction business in Italy.

Alumni As teachers, we are proud of our former pupils’ success and that is why we work so hard at helping them to reach their potential while they are with us. Just as important is where they go next, because what they do reflects on us. We are most gratified by the interest that our alumni continue to have in King’s and, therefore, we do our best to foster relationships with our former pupils and promote networks that facilitate their keeping in touch with one another, as well as their professional development.

Fostering relationships

Everyone who has studied at a King’s College school is welcome to join their school alumni group on LinkedIn. Every year we organise social events, professional networking and mentoring opportunities.

Membership is growing rapidly. This shows that the advantages of a top quality British education does not stop once you leave school and go to university.

I studied hard and did really well in my A Levels, mainly thanks to my outstanding teachers, without whom I wouldn’t be where I am today, studying Chinese and History in London. I actually performed better than expected and was able to re-apply to my dream university. This is mainly due to the hard work of my teachers, who dedicated so much of their time to making sure we could pass our exams and do so with confidence.
