1. The Second Genesis"God ... did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly” - 2 Peter 2:4-5

1 Peter 3:20 “that aforetime were disobedient, when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water”

Noah's whole family of 8 were in the ark, but Ham later fell under the curse (Genesis 9:18-10:32).

2. Covenant with AbrahamName changed from Abram, meaning “exalted father,” to Abraham, meaning “father of a multitude” - Genesis 17:5

“The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers … Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments”

1. Lot's whole family : Lot, his wife, his daughters - were delivered from destruction - Genesis 19:12

2. Lot's wife later fell under the curse when she looked back - Genesis 19:17, 26

4. Jacob & his 12 Sons

When God began to work directly with Jacob, He named him Israel, meaning “one who prevails with God” or “a prince with God” - Genesis 32:24-30

1. Israel’s descendants were known as “the seed of Abraham,” “the House of Isaac,” “the House of Jacob” or simply “Jacob”.

1. Jacob later adopted Ephraim and Manasseh, his grandsons through his son Joseph, as his own sons with regard to his inheritance.

Acts 3:25-26 "You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, And in your seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. To you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities."

Galatians 3:28-29 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you be Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise."
