Kingdom of Bahrain is honored that it is achieving development in the field of integrating students with different disabilities such (sensory, physical and or mild intellectual), who are able to learn and engage in the school environment.

Legal Side

The kingdom of Bahrain's policy provides the proper education for special needs students and is stipulated in the constitution of the kingdom under the responsibility of educating and providing education for all. As stated in Article V of the constitution, paragraph (A) where it says that the country provides educational and cultural services to citizens, and that education is mandatory and free in the first stages of education. Also, as stated in the education law (27) of year 2005, Article 10 Paragraph (1) where it mentions providing educational opportunities for all citizens and developing their capabilities and skills to achieve development in their self, life and society. It is also stated in paragraph (10) of the same constitution the need for providing a variety of educational opportunities based on the diverse needs of individuals, the care for talented and outstanding students and promoting their experience, the care for slow learners and special needs students and to follow their progress and integrate capable ones in education.

After assessing students, Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) are developed for students who later join Therapeutic Classes (Individual or in Groups) 3 to 4 times per week.

• Autism Spectrum Disorder:– 1:1 Student to Teacher ratio– Classes are equipped to safely

accommodate students.

• Primary level students with disabilities can

benefit from Course Work Grade (30%) special

grading.

• Substituting some scientific subjects such as

(Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology) with

others for students with sever visual disability.
