The work describes the consequences of the irresponsibility and the mistakes of judgment of Lear, dominator of the former Brittany, and of his counselor, the duke of Gloucester. The tragic end comes as result of delivering the power to his wicked daughters on equal parts and not to Cordelia, who demonstrates a love capable of redeeming the evil for the good; nevertheless she dies ultimately, offering the idea of that the evil does not destroy to yes same; nevertheless there happens the baneful destination of the sisters of Cordelia and of the opportunist bastard son of the count of Gloucester.
