Despite this being one of the busi-est times of year for the Kimberley Helping Hands Food Bank, there is also annual business to be attended to. The Food Bank held its Annual Gener-al Meeting last Tuesday, December 8 and President Stan Salikin reported that it was a very successful year.

“Over 1500 food hampers were do-nated to people in our area who expe-rienced food and financial insecurity,” Salikin said at the AGM. “This assisted over 3600 people, including 1500 chil-dren. Another important cog in the wheel is volunteers.

Motorized use of non-motorized trails has been an issue in British Columbia for many years, but Marys-ville resident Randy Wallach says that it is getting worse with every passing year.

Wallach says he has major concerns with two lakes in the Mat-thew Creek area, Hay-stack and Cooper, that he has been walking to for years.

But now, he says, quads have been over the trails again and again, widening them and causing damage.

“These trails are posted as non-motor-ized,” he said. “I’ve been walking the one to Coo-per Lake since 1960 but I started to notice a lot more quads over this year.

“I was up berry pick-ing this summer and saw at least a dozen quads. I even saw a Jeep pulling a boat trailer.”

Wallach says the quads ruin the trails, not to mention that the areas around Cooper and Haystack Lake are grizzly and caribou habitat.

“Quads are bigger and heavier than they used to be and they dis-

turb the ground. Hay-stack Lake is being to-tally run over. They ig-nore the signs, run them over or drive around them, even take them down.”

Wallach says there are thousands of kilo-metres of forest service roads, that quads can legally run on — he doesn’t see why they need to go where it is clearly posted for non-motorized traffic only.

Since November of this year, off road vehi-cles like quads have to be licensed and carry insurance. Wallach hopes this may aid in reporting violators. There is a hotline you can call to report 1-844-676-8477.

He has been in con-tact with the Ministry of Forests, who admit that it is a problem but have difficulty dealing with it.

“A wide variety of ef-forts have been made to prevent the escalating motorized use of the trail, including physical barriers, signage, sur-veillance cameras, compliance and en-forcement patrols, and violation tickets,” wrote Garth Wiggill, Regional Executive Director, Kootenay Boundary Re-gion to Wallach.

In D e c e m b e r, half a century ago, Cran-

brook was poised for a number of changes that would result by the early 1970s in a city that looks much more like it does today than that of days gone by.

For the moment, however, the Cranbrook Mall had not yet dropped its fat foundation direct-ly across Baker Street, rubbing out a city park in the process. The charming old Royal Bank had not yet been replaced by the new, the YMCA/Armoury still stood sentinel at the west end of Baker Street and the highway still came through the busi-ness district past a clock tower that was still at-tached to a Post Office.

Crestbrook lumber mill and the old airport took up much of the area to the east side of what would soon become “The Strip,” and the St. Eugene Hospital was still the hub of medicine in the district.

The population stood at around 7,000 and would continue to grow, forcing the city to ex-pand its borders to the east and south in addi-tion to the construction of apartment blocks throughout the residen-tial area.

The weather for the first half of December, 1965, was, on average, 1.3 degrees F. warmer during the day and 3.1 degrees F. cooler during the night than 2015. There was snow on the ground from a heavy snowfall in late Novem-ber and there would be a great deal more snow arrive in late December — 28 inches of the wet and heavy stuff — can-celling flights, closing the sixteen month-old Skyway (Salmo-Cres-

Christmas in Cranbrook, 50 years ago

ton) Pass and generally making a nuisance of it-self.

Still, by 1965, many homes had televisions to help pass the long win-ter nights. TV shows pre-miering that year in-cluded Lost in Space, Hogan’s Heroes, Get Smart, I Dream of Jean-nie, The Wild Wild West, Green Acres, I Spy, Days of Our Lives, F Troop and The FBI. Top music hits of December in-cluded: We Can Work it Out by the Beatles, Turn, Turn! Turn! Turn! by the Byrds, I Hear A Sympho-ny by the Supremes, and Sounds of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel while the top box office releases were Thunder-ball and Dr. Zhivago,

The final week of No-vember saw the deaths of three people in three

separate automobile ac-cidents, two from out of town and Gilbert “Gib” Parker of Cranbrook, age 18, who was a passenger in a two-car collision on the corner of 5th Avenue and 3rd Street, the first vehicle fatality in the city in four years. Safe-driv-ing week began a few days afterwards. The Se-nior Citizens Club, boasting over 200 mem-bers, enjoyed their an-nual turkey banquet, the Courier stating that “members range from 92 and up and members as young as 12 years…with Mrs. McBurney the oldest at age 88.”

The yearly municipal election, held on De-cember 11, saw Mayor George Haddad (re-turned to a third term by acclamation) head up a city council consisting of

Ed Delamont, Eddie Leonard, J.S. “Bus” Johnston, Dave Bjerst-edt, Don Sherling and Sam McLeary. 1,032 bal-lots were cast in the elec-tion, the 35.7 percent voting turnout among the lowest in the history of the city. Aside from the upcoming issues of a new hospital, airport, post office, industrial park (a priority for the Chamber of Commerce) and a downtown mall. A major concern was the local water supply. Chamber of Commerce civic affairs committee chairman Don DeBuysscher bluntly de-clared, “The water tastes like hell and smells worse.”

Joe Sherbo, propri-etor of the Stop & Go Inn, began importing “professional nightclub

acts” — singers, dancers, musicians, comedians — to perform in the restaurant, at times backed by local musi-cians Bud Dunlop, Stew-art Taylor, Maurice Mackay and Doug Kerr as “The Blue Notes.”

The annual Festival of Christmas Music took place in the Mt. Baker High School Gymnasi-um, now (more or less) the lobby of the Key City Theatre. Sponsored by the Cranbrook Teacher’s Association and Cran-brook Rotary, the festi-val featured over 500 voices from eleven local choirs.

Boy Scouts sold Christmas trees for $1.00 each in the empty lot next to the old Post Of-fice, the Scandinavian Sisters planned holiday dances and banquets at

the Blue Bird Inn, Swan-son’s Men’s Wear actual-ly sold wear for men while a Lyon’s Shoe Store advertisement read: Christmas Booty for All Ages.

On the afternoon of Saturday, December 18, Santa Claus once again hitched a ride on the fire truck for a tour of the town. Sponsored by the Kinsmen Club he ended the journey at 1:30 p.m. outside Mt. Baker School where he handed out goodies to Cranbrook youngsters. There were a number of letters to Santa in the newspaper that year.

One young lad wrote, “Dear Santa: I would like these toys: Trik Trak, 8 games in one, Martian Magic, Monopoly, Strat-egy, Football. I would also like Jet Putt Golf,

Rock’em Sock’em and Popeye’s Punch Me. My sister would like a long toque for skiing. My mother wants jewelry. My other brother wants some tie tacks. My dad wants a garage door shutter which is approx-imately $149.49. I don’t think he will get it. Good luck at Christmas. Please may I have these toys Yours Truly, Ron Webb.”

Did Santa come through? Did young Ron receive all that he sought? Like much of Cranbrook’s history the answers are shrouded in the mists of time. But that was Cranbrook then and this is Cranbrook now and Janus sincerely wishes the best for you and yours over the holi-days. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

From Page 1“They all do it from

the goodness of their heart, because they know the need is there and they want to help. Without dedicated hard-working volunteers there would not be a food bank of the this high calibre and efficien-cy in Kimberley. Thank you to all the wonderful people in our town and area, without you it would not be possible to keep going.”

Salikin also expressed his and the board’s grati-tude to longtime Food Bank manager Heather Smith.

“Having a knowledg-able, dedicated person in this demanding posi-tion is of the greatest im-portance. Keeping the day to day activities run-ning smoothly, week after week, training and supervising the volun-teer staff and getting the food distributed to the people, training and su-pervising the volunteer

staff is one gigantic task. Thank you Heather for your hard work and ded-icated service.”

Salikin said the Food Bank was busier than ever before this year.

“Many desperate people with little or no financial resources, peo-ple in poor physical and mental health, people down on their luck and with low self esteem, se-niors on extremely limit-ed income and people who arrive in Kimberley with high hopes of se-curing employment but being disappointed to discover that things are not as they had hoped for. These are the people who end up on the steps of the Food Bank. The volunteers are the ones on the front lines and are the first responders to these sad situations. They treat every individ-ual in a professional, sensitive manner, while conducting their duties. We are thankful that our Food Bank is able to

meet the needs of these people during their time of food insecurity, stress and tension caused by insufficient financial re-sources and poverty.”

And finally Salikin recognized the tremen-

dous support from the people of Kimberley.

“Our food bank is so fortunate to have such wonderful financial support from the com-munity. The people of Kimberley and sur-

rounding areas have been exceptionally gen-erous to our cause. Many hundreds of ordi-nary citizens donate large numbers of cash and food stuffs to our food bank. Many busi-

nesses, large and small contribute cash, as well as service clubs and schools, church mem-bers and church organi-zations, unions and other organizations. The support is simply tre-

mendous. These peo-ple understand the meaning of giving from their heart. They are aware of the needs of many of our citizens. All of our directors want to express our sincere thanks once again to everyone of the people and the or-ganizations that sup-port us so generously.

“There are hun-dreds of people that can truthfully say the Food Bank saved their families and maybe even their lives. Every-one who volunteers their time and service or contributes finan-cially or in kind has made a difference in these people’s lives. Your help is appreciat-ed by everyone in-volved.”

It takes a lot of support to run the Food Bank

and signs prohibiting motorized use have been continually re-moved by non-compli-ant motorized users and re-established by the Ministry. Surveillance cameras and C&E pa-trols are only effective if violators can be caught in the act of an infrac-tion. This is a difficult task to accomplish in an area as vast and remote as B.C.’s backcountry, particularly due to exist-ing limitations in avail-

able resources and ca-pacity.

“We will continue C&E actions with Natu-ral Resources Officers and the Conservation Officer Service, as well as maintaining appro-priate signage at the trailhead and along the trail route.

“Members of the public can assist us in our efforts by reporting witnessed infractions to the NRO tip line.”

Wiggill also said that reporting license plate numbers would help.

Serious singers back for seasonal ensembleCranbrook concert features vocalists who’ve taken their talents to the next level

Ba r ry Co u lt e r

A signature event celebrating the great array of

the vocal talent of Cran-brook and Kimberley is arranged for the end of December.

A special concert fea-turing nine local vocal-ists will be held Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Knox Presbyterian Church. And the level of talent will be high — all the singers involved have gone on from high school to study voice or musical theatre at the post-sec-ondary level.

The concert is the brainchild of Elizabeth Ross, who herself has sung as a soprano for many years in Cranbrook and elsewhere, including with the Symphony of the Kootenays and many local musicals.

Ross said since many of the singers would be home for Christmas, such a gathering would be a wonderful opportu-nity for the community

to hear them all sing and perform.

“I think it is amazing that Cranbrook has de-veloped so much vocal talent and that so many students from here have pursued voice in a serious way,” Ross said. “I chose each of these singers be-cause they’ve all pursued vocal studies at Universi-ty or seriously with an advanced voice teacher.

“As far as I am aware these are all of the stu-dents from our area from the last ten years (or so) that have gone on to study voice (classical or

musical theatre) at a post secondary level. Of course there have been many other talented singers from our area — and there continues to be so. So I decided to limit the invitees to students that have pursued their music formally beyond high school.”

Ross said any pro-ceeds from this concert could be given to the East Kootenay Performing Arts Festival, which has helped nuture vocal, mu-sical and dramatic talent over the years. She added that she has heard most of the guests sing many times at the Performing Arts Festival, and at other venues, particularly at Mount Baker Secondary School.

Ross originally had

invited 12 vocalists, of which nine were able to accept. The concert will take place at Knox Pres-byterian Church in Cran-brook, Sunday, Dec. 27, at 7 p.m. Admission is by donation (suggested do-nation is $10), with pro-ceeds going to the East Kootenay Performing Arts Festival. Kimber-ley’s Arne Sahlen and Erica Ortlieb (Ross’s daughter) will serve as piano accompanists.

The audience can look forward to classical vocal selections, some opera, some musical the-atre, and a few duets.

The singers are:• Darren Adams —

Darren is in his third and final year of the Acting For Stage and Screen program at Capilano University in Vancouver. He has performed for several community and semi-professional theatre companies and has been featured in dozens of short films.

• Heather Byford — After graduating from MBSS, Heather attended the University of Leth-bridge where she ob-tained a Bachelor’s De-gree in Classical Music, majoring in Vocal Per-

formance. She recently returned home and in-tends to start her own teaching studio before continuing her musical education.

• Courteny Green — Courteny is currently the head teacher and chore-ographer at Stages School of Dance Golden. She is an alumnus of both St. Lawrence College’s Music Theatre Department and MBSS Wild Theatre.

• Clara MacLeod — Clara is from Kimberley, and is currently a musical theatre major at St. Clair College in Windsor, On-tario.

• Caitlin McCaughey — Caitlyn received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Leth-bridge, and currently studying opera at the University of Toronto.

• Jocelyn Molnar — Jocelyn has performed throughout B.C. and On-tario. She received her Diploma of Music from Capilano University in North Vancouver, and is now continuing her un-dergraduate degree at Western University in London, Ontario.

• Danielle Nicholson — Danielle is a lyrical mezzo-soprano currently

completing her A.R.C.T. Performers’ Diploma with the Royal Conserva-tory of Music, and is hoping to begin her B. Mus. in Vocal Perfor-mance at either U.B.C., University of Toronto or McGill in the Fall of 2016.

• Justin Swanson — Justin is a third year un-dergrad student at the

McGill University Schulich School of Music. Justin has been studying music for five years and has aspirations of becom-ing an Opera singer.

• Amanda Weatherall — Amanda is a Mezzo Soprano is a fourth year vocal performance stu-dent at Western Univer-sity.

STuDeNTS aT hIgh SchooL PRoM”Three hundred stu-

dents made the senior high school Christmas Prom a smashing hit.

The gym was gaily decorated with red, white and green stream-ers. Santa, Scrooge and Elvis posters added gai-ety to the whole affair. A brightly lighted tree was centered at one end and at the other, the Four Aces Orchestra under a picture of Santa and his reindeer. Mr. Bates’ grade 8’s, Art 10, 20 and 30 students, with the help of Betty Jane Oliver, Wayne Bird, Bernard Cinnamon and Kajo Kooy, were responsible for the colourful decora-tions, which were put up under supervision of Jean Coulter, Marion Stewart, Jeanette Pendry and Jim Nelson.

Graciously chaperon-ing the affair were Miss Y.

Briand, Miss E. Briand, E. Doell, Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Young, A.E.W. Day, Mr. and Mrs. S. Muraro, Mrs. T. Entwistle, Mr. and Mrs. Binnie, Mrs. K. Poole, R.L. Hopkins, Mrs. Johnston, Mr. Gars-tin, Miss Soderholm, G. O’Neill, Mr. Yarwoood and Mr. and Mrs. Brum-mett.

The dance got under-way at 8:45. The boys were handsomely dressed in suits, dinner jackets and slacks, while the girls wore semi-for-mals and party dresses. The Grand March was held at 9:30 and the gym was an uproar as all stu-dents took part. The Four Aces played various kinds of dances. Dan Martell and Joan Evans were winners of the lemon waltz.

Half way through the evening the students proceeded to the cafete-ria where doughnuts and punch were served. Like Cinderella’s ball, the magic of the dance ended at 12 o’clock to remain in the wistful memories of the senior students.

OpiniOn/EvEnts

I very much appreciate the columns by Anastasia Bartlett in the Towns-man. Many of us don’t know enough about Eastern Orthodox traditions,

and her writing about those ancient tradi-tions is a very welcome thing. I am grateful for her insights and deep spirituality.

However, I must disagree with a com-ment in a recent column. She was writing about the incarnation, which comes from two Latin words meaning “in the flesh”. It is the theological word for our Christmas celebrations when we celebrate God en-fleshed in Jesus. In that col-umn, she wrote, “Jesus was born to die.”

I’ve seen and heard that kind of thinking many times. Last week, I saw a church sign on-line which read, “Christmas is the story of a baby born to die.” On another website, I saw an animated Christmas display which showed — yes, get this — Jesus carrying his cross and being flogged, presumably by a Roman soldier. And Merry Christmas to you too! What a macabre thing to do!

I disagree. Jesus was not born to die. Jesus was born to live.

Like any other baby, like any other human being, like any other of God’s crea-tures, Jesus was born to live.

There are too many Christians who look at Jesus and see only the cross. As if the cross was the only thing of value about Jesus. As if God’s only purpose for Jesus was for him to die. As if the whole of Jesus’ work and ministry in the world counts for nothing. As if none of his teach-ings really mattered because the only thing that really matters is that “Jesus died for my sins.”

None of that is true, of course. Like any of us, Jesus’ life counts. How he lived, what he taught, how he showed compassion and grace in the world — all of these are equally important as his death. Jesus was born to live.

The gospels testify to this over and over again. “Let us go on to the neighbouring towns, so that I may proclaim the message there also; for that is what I came out to do.” (Mark 1: 38). “I came that they may have

life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10). In response to Pilate’s question about whether Jesus was a king, Jesus responds, “For this I came into the world, to testify to the truth.” (John 18: 37).

His whole life long, Jesus showed us how people can experience God’s love in this world. Jesus’ life was dedicated to embracing, healing, loving people and treating all of God’s people with grace and compassion.

It makes me sad to think that anyone can look at the infant Jesus and see only his death.

It makes me sad that anyone can read the radical story of a baby in a manger and think only of a cross.

It makes me sad to imagine that for so many people, Christian faith is only about Jesus dying so that we can go to heaven.

It makes me sad that anyone can re-duce the mystery of incarnation to the tragedy of crucifixion.

So let me repeat what I’ve said so often in these columns. It wasn’t Jesus’ death and crucifixion that set things right in the world. Rather, it was Jesus’ whole life that shows what a world set right might look like.

And Jesus showed us that abundant life looks like the kingdom of God: the hungry are fed; the wealthy and the powerful who are doing violence for their own sake are toppled with nonviolence and solidarity; the oppressed are raised up; outsiders, including refugees, are welcomed with open arms and open hearts; broken peo-ple are being made whole; lonely people are being welcomed into community; all people are learning to live together in peace for the welfare of all.

Abundant life looks like what we have seen in people like Jean Vanier, who gave up the perks and privileges of his life to live with developmentally handicapped men in community. Like Mahatma Gand-hi, who led his people in nonviolent pro-test against the British Empire. Like Mar-tin Luther King, Jr., who led the fight for civil rights for all people in the US, regard-less of colour or status. Like Nelson Man-dela, who fought against apartheid, was imprisoned for it, and upon his release refused to give in to violence against his former oppressors.

And Jesus proclaims that this eternal, abundant life begins now, not when we die. Jesus shows us that heaven is found on earth, if only we have eyes to see it and the courage to live it.

The point of Jesus’ life is not the cruci-fixion. It is the incarnation. Jesus wasn’t born to die. Jesus was born to live—abun-dantly.

Death is inevitable, but the hope of in-carnation is that life happens, that eternal life happens, and that it happens right now.

For the townsmanColumbia Basin Trust an-

nounces several updates to its Board of Directors, including the appointment of Rick Jensen as Chair and the retirement of current Chair Greg Deck.

From Cranbrook, Jensen is replacing Deck as Chair as of January 1, 2016. He joined the Trust Board in 2013 and served as Vice-Chair in 2015. He is the Chair of New Dawn Develop-ments, a director of New Dawn Restorations, President of the Canadian Institute of Excel-lence and a director of Colum-bia Power Corporation. He has also served as President and CEO of Panorama Mountain Village.

The Trust also thanks and extends its best wishes to Greg Deck, who is now retiring. From Radium Hot Springs, Deck has been on the Board since the Trust’s inception in 1995, serving as Vice-Chair from 2008 to 2012 and Chair from 2013 to 2015.

“On behalf of the Trust’s Board and staff, I would like to thank Greg Deck for his contri-butions to the formation and growth of the Trust,” said Jen-sen. “For over 20 years, he has been an instrumental part of this organization and has dedi-cated his efforts to the well-be-

ing of our region and its resi-dents.”

Nakusp’s Laurie Page, who joined the Board in January 2012, is being reappointed until December 2018 and is taking over as Vice-Chair. She also served as Vice-Chair from 2013 to 2014.

“The Trust has achieved re-markable success, and I’m confident Rick Jensen, Laurie Page and the rest of the Board will carry this success forward,” said Deck. “This is a solid team committed to an extraordinary organization that will continue to serve the Basin well.”

The Trust also wishes the best to Kim Deane of Rossland. He has been on the Board since 2009, and is retiring as of the end of 2015.

Two new members are join-ing the Board for one-year terms, expiring December 2016. Michael Delich joins the Board from Fernie, where he is an active entrepreneur, com-munity leader and sport leader. Rhonda Ruston joins the Board from Kaslo, where she is a law-yer and has served on the boards of the Kaslo InfoNet So-ciety and Kaslo Institute.

Nelson’s Am Naqvi is being reappointed to the Board until

December 2018. Other Board members include Larry Binks (Creston), Wendy Booth (Fair-mont Hot Springs), Gord DeR-osa (Trail), John Dooley (Nel-son), Loni Parker (Revelstoke), Vickie Thomas (?aq’am) and Jeannette Townsend (Vale-mount).

“I’d like to thank Greg Deck for his years of dedicated ser-vice and leadership as chair of the Trust, and for all the help, sound guidance and advice he has shared with me personally as a resident of the Columbia Basin and in my work as an MLA and minister,” said Minis-

ter of Energy and Mines Bill Bennett. “I’d also like to wel-come Rick Jensen and Laurie Page to their new roles. I look forward to working with them and the rest of the Board as they continue to invest and de-liver benefits to the Basin, im-proving lives, communities and the environment.”

The Trust’s 12-member Board consists of individuals appointed by the provincial government: six from the five regional districts and the Ktu-naxa Nation Council, and six others. All directors must live in the Basin.

The Board meets five times a year in communities around the Basin. The public is invited to attend in order to meet the directors and ask questions about the organization’s work in the Basin. The next meeting is in Nelson on Friday, Febru-ary 12, 2016.

For more information about the Board, and to read high-lights and minutes from Board meetings, visit cbt.org/board.

PAGE 6 FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2015

A bu Muhammad al-Golani is an Is-lamist fanatic, a head-chopper (al-though only in moderation), and

the leader of the Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda affiliate that is classified by the United States as “terrorist”. He spent almost a de-cade killing American occupation troops and Shia civilians in Iraq as a loyal member of the Sunni extremist organisation that is now called Islamic State before going home to Syria in 2011.

He was sent home to create a Syrian clone of what was then called ‘Is-lamic State in Iraq’, on the orders of Abu Baqr al-Baghdadi, the leader of Islamic State and now the self-proclaimed “Caliph” of all the Muslims. Golani named the Syrian branch the Nusra Front, and it did so well that he broke with Islamic State and went out on his own in 2013.

There was a three-month turf war be-tween Islamic State and the Nusra Front in Syria in early 2014 that killed an estimated 3,000 jihadis. Islamic State won it and now controls most of eastern Syria (and all of western Iraq). Golani managed to hang on to northwestern Syria, where the Nusra Front and another extreme Islamist or-ganisation, Ahrar al-Sham, now complete-ly dominate a rebel alliance that also in-cludes several smaller “moderate” outfits.

So you would not expect Golani to fa-vour a peace deal that left the brutal Assad regime, secular in form but Shia-dominat-ed, in power in Damascus. And indeed he does not: in a rare interview recently, he condemned the peace deal being cooked up by the US and Russia as “unaccept-able”. It was, he said, a plot to merge more moderate rebel fighters with Assad’s forc-es in order to fight extremist groups like

his own and Islamic State.Golani was right to be suspicious, and

yet he may go along with the deal in the end, because it isn’t really a permanent peace settlement that is being discussed. It’s actually just a ceasefire that will leave all the players in Syria in control of the territory they now hold — except for Is-lamic State, which they can then all con-

centrate on destroying. This is the sort of Machi-

avellian thinking that caused Russian President Vladimir Putin to accuse Washington recently of “di-viding terrorists into good and bad ones,” but it’s just as much a part of Russian

thinking. When Moscow started bombing the rebels in Syria in September to save the Assad regime from collapse, it bombed them all indiscriminately: the Nusra Front, Islamic State, even the “moderates”, if it could find them.

But it quickly became clear that what Russia had in mind, after stabilising the battlefronts, was precisely what Golani was condemning: a ceasefire that would effectively partition Syria between the Assad regime and the various rebel groups, and enable them all to turn on Islamic State.

You can’t admit that that’s what you are doing, of course, so you talk in terms of a peace settlement. That’s what Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Foreign Secretary John Kerry were doing in Moscow on Tuesday, and the result is that a United Nations Security Council resolution endorsing the Syrian peace process will probably be passed on Friday.

The current round of “peace talks” began in Vienna on 23 October, with no Syrians present, just Russia, the United

States, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. It subse-quently expanded to include about twenty countries, and the organisers are now de-ciding which Syrians can attend the next round of talks, probably early in the new year.

On one side, obviously, will be the the representatives of the Assad regime. On the other side will be some of the leaders of the armed opposition, but not all of them. Islamic State won’t be there, of course, and at the moment the Nusra Front says it won’t be either. Since those are the two most powerful groups fighting the Assad regime, what’s the point of talks?

But the Nusra Front’s close ally, Ahrar al-Sham, did show up at last week’s meet-ing in Riyadh where decisions were being made on which groups could attend the peace talks. At one point it walked out —and then, after some further thought, it added its signature to the joint declaration.

The Islamists of the Nusra Front and Ahrar al-Sham are clearly in two minds about a ceasefire (disguised as a peace agreement). On one hand, it would leave the Assad regime in power. On the other, it would give them time to consolidate their control over the territory they now hold, and maybe to eliminate their most dan-gerous rival, Islamic State. So in the end, they may go along with the idea.

It wouldn’t be perfect, and it wouldn’t necessarily be permanent either. But it would stop most of the killing, it would at least contain if not eliminate Islamic State, and it might even let some of the refugees go home. It’s basically a Russian initiative, but Moscow is wisely letting the US take the lead now. If anybody has a better idea, please let us all know.

Local swimmer Jen-nifer Depippo’s quest to represent Canada at the Paralympic Games con-tinues, with recent com-petition at the Can-Am Games in Bismarck, North Dakota.

The 2015 Can-Am Open was held from Dec. 10-12. It also served as the U.S. Paralympics Swimming Open, giving American swimmers to earn qualification slots for their country in preparation for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Depippo said that de-spite the “Can-Am” moniker, the event had a real global flavour, with swimmers from Russia, China, Japan, Australia, Cuba, Puerto Rico and St. Croix also competing.

“The level of compe-tition was really good,” Depippo said upon her return. “It was a real eyeopener for me.”

Depippo said that for the North Dakota meet, her international classi-cation was bumped up from a Level 8 to a Level 9.

“That’s a tougher, more competitive level — a bigger test,” she said. “But I’m prepared to take that on.

“I knew that I could do it, and I proved that I could do it.”

Depippo’s results were as follows:

• 400 metre freestyle — 6min. 30sec.

• 100 metre back-stroke — 1min., 50.6 sec.

• 50 metre freestyle — 39.05sec

• 100 freestyle —

1min. 23.46 sec.• 100 breaststroke —

2 min. 0.41 sec.“Overall, these were

my best times at any meet,” Depippo said. “I am really happy with my results.

“I knocked two sec-onds off my backstroke time, another second off my 100-metre free, al-most 15 seconds off my 400-metre free, and eight seconds off my breaststroke.”

Next up for Depippo is the BC Provincials, to be held in Victoria in March, 2016. After that, she’s likely heading to Toronto for Team Cana-da Paralympic qualify-ing.

Depippo would like to thank her local spon-sors: Frank Sandor from Sandor Rental, Geoff Berry from Geoff’s Con-tracting, Jim Fiorentino from the Fiorentino Brothers, New Dawn Developments, Chris Thom at Rocky Montain Diesel, Derick Spring at Northstar GM, Ben Coles from Promotory Press, AM music, and the Cranbrook Colonels Oldtimers Hockey Club.

For as long as he can remember, Austin Gray has been a goal scorer. And that’s what he wants to develop into at the Western Hockey League level now that he has a fresh start with the Kootenay Ice.

“I haven’t been able to get on the scoresheet yet, but I know I’ll break through,” Gray said prior to practice at West-ern Financial Place Thursday afternoon. “That’s kind of the role I’d like to play, but what-ever I can do to help the team win, that’s what I want to do.

“Obviously, I’d like to get a win. I haven’t had a win. Haven’t won in the jersey yet, but so far I’ve been enjoying it. I think we’re getting better… and there are good things to come.”

The Ice acquired Gray from the Portland Winterhawks in a multi-player deal back on Nov. 29, in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.

“I think he fits in real well with our group,” said Luke Pierce, head coach of the Kootenay Ice, Thursday afternoon prior to practice at West-ern Financial Place. “He seems to get along with the guys and he’s eager to get better and im-prove his game. He’s got lots of questions, which is great.

“Everyone has to keep in mind, he’s es-sentially another first-year player for us… Con-sidering all that, he’s fit in admirably.”

With only 14 WHL games to his credit through parts of three seasons with the Win-terhawks and now the Ice, Gray has plenty of learning and growing left to do, but his eager-ness is an encouraging sign as far as coach Pierce is concerned.

“He’s got to add some strength,” Pierce said. “He’s a pretty slight kid and that makes it tough in this league to be ultra-effective. But he’s able to do it by using his brain and that’s an asset. As he gets stronger and quick-

er, I think he’ll be a real good player for us.

“So far, it’s just being sharp every shift and making sure he’s in the right spots and keeping the game simple, no dif-ferent than what we’re asking from a lot of guys.”

There’s no question the Ice could use a breakthrough from the 18-year-old Gray, who put up 25 goals and 64 points in 37 games with the Cariboo Cougars of the B.C. Major Midget League last season.

Having scored 64 goals through 34 games, the Ice own the most anemic offense in the Western Hockey League, though it begs to be re-minded the team has suffered a mind-numb-ing run of injuries.

Elite scorer Jaedon Descheneau (shoulder surgery) has missed 32 games and is expected to miss the duration of the 2015-16 campaign. Captain and leading scorer Luke Philp (ankle surgery, head) has missed 12 games and counting and sec-ond-leading scorer Zak Zborosky (lower body) missed 13 games.

With five other for-wards missing varying amounts of time due to injury, there was plenty of opportunity for Gray to step right in.

The fresh start was a welcome one for the na-

tive of Prince George, B.C., and he was cer-tainly a sight for sore eyes when he joined the injury-riddled Ice Dec. 1 in Kamloops.

“I’d been talking with my agent about where I would like to be traded, so I kind of knew the phone call was coming,” Gray said. “[Cranbrook] was one of the places I was hoping to be traded to. I was happy when I got the phone call.”

With a few weeks under his belt to ac-quaint himself with new systems, new teammates and a new coaching staff, Gray is looking forward to finding the scoresheet and getting a win.

Though he hasn’t found the back of the net yet, Gray is certainly willing to do whatever it takes to help his team, as evidenced by the fact he dropped the gloves with 20-year-old WHL veteran Luke Harrison back on Dec. 8 in Prince George.’

“To be honest, I was just sick of getting pushed around in my hometown,” Gray said with a chuckle. “I finally had enough of it. I couldn’t score a goal, so I thought I’d get beat up in front of my friends and family.”

While the physical side of the game might not be top priority for the 6-foot, 162-pound Gray, he isn’t shy when it comes down to it.

“When it’s there, I’ll take it,” Gray said. “I’m

not afraid to go into the corner with someone bigger than myself. I don’t go out of my way to make big hits, but if the hit’s there I don’t shy away from it.”

The next opportunity for Gray to perhaps find the scoresheet and help his new club get a win comes Friday as the Ice (6-26-2-0) travel to Red Deer for a rematch with the Rebels (22-11-0-0).

Tuesday at Western Financial Place, the Ice battled the Rebels hard in a 4-2 loss, with plenty of positives to build upon heading into the final weekend before the holiday break.

“We’ve got to make sure that we try to find ways to capitalize offen-sively a little more with the zone time that we do create,” Pierce said look-ing to Friday night. “We’ve got to be a little cleaner coming out of our end with possession

and we’re going to need our special teams to contribute.

“Our penalty kill was really good [Tuesday] and you may not get a lot of power-play oppor-tunities, but we’ve got to find a way to capitalize.”

Puck drop between the Ice and Rebels is set for 8 p.m. (Rogers Sports-net) from the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer.

After Friday’s tilt, the Ice continue north to visit the Edmonton Oil Kings (13-18-3-0) Satur-day at Rexall Place be-fore taking a holiday breather.

The Ice return to ac-tion Sunday, Dec. 27 at 4 p.m. when they host the Calgary Hitmen (21-12-1-1) at Western Finan-cial Place.

Notes: Ice D Tanner Lishchynsky, who suf-fered a lower-body inju-ry Tuesday, is expected to miss approximately two to four weeks...

“I was just sick of getting pushed

around in my hometown. I finally had enough of it. I

couldn’t score a goal, so I thought I’d get beat up in front of

my friends and family.”

TORONTO - The gruesome sight of Dan Hamhuis on the ice with his legs flailing made fel-low NHL players cringe.

A shot like the one that cracked the Vancouver Canucks defenceman in the face could happen to anyone.

Hamhuis is out two months after surgery to

repair facial fractures. Even though he wears a visor like a vast majority of the league now, it couldn’t save him when a slap shot from the New York Rangers’ Dan Boyle

hit him squarely in the jaw from close range.

Only a full-face shield or cage could have pre-vented that injury. The league and Players’ As-sociation only two years

ago mandated visors for incoming players, but there could be a day in the distant future when full facial protection like in youth, college and women’s hockey, is

commonplace in the NHL.

“It’s probably the next step,” San Jose Sharks coach Peter De-Boer said. “No one thought helmets were

coming in and they did, and then no one thought visors were coming in and they did. I’m sure there will be a day down the road one day here where it is (normal). I think it’s a ways off. It’ll get here one day.”

One Eastern Confer-ence executive said no matter the rules on vi-sors there will always be an outlier injury that oc-curs and doesn’t think it’s an immediate prob-lem that needs to be ad-dressed.

Current players are conflicted on the subject but are in agreement that full face shields ar-en’t coming any time soon. Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Matt Hunwick called the Hamhuis injury a “freak accident,” even if similar plays happen often.

Go into any lock-er-room and there are a handful of players who remember losing teeth or breaking bones from an errant stick or a puck. It’s basically the only way anyone in the NHL now puts on a full face shield.

Philadelphia Flyers forward Sam Gagner, who recently suffered a concussion when his head hit the ice, remem-bers breaking his jaw in 2013 and was no fan of wearing the full shield.

“It hinders you,” Gag-ner said. “Your vision of the puck, it throws that off a bit.”

At the world junior hockey championship, any player under the age of 18 has to wear a full face shield. That includ-ed Connor McDavid at the 2014 tournament.

Sharks centre Joe Thornton is one of the remaining players to go without a visor and said when he was 14 he couldn’t wait to take it off once he was allowed to. Leafs forward Shawn Matthias hasn’t worn one in 12 years and can’t imagine face shields ever becoming mandatory, though he wonders about alterations.

“You never know, maybe they’ll change the rule on how low the visors go or something,” said Matthias, who wore a full shield in junior be-cause of a facial injury. “I’m sure back then they didn’t think everyone would be wearing visors nowadays. I just can’t see the whole league - or anyone - wearing a face mask.”

After Hamhuis injury, are full face shields in NHL’s distant future?

T he Great Wall is over 6,000 km long, we think.

No one really knows for sure. It was built over three Dynasties — Qin, Ming, Qing — and took 2,000 years to build.

In Chinese, Great Wall is Chang Cheng, meaning ‘Long Wall’. Emperor Qin began construction of the wall in the 3rd century BC, as a means of preventing incursions from the bar-barian nomads into the Chinese empire. It didn’t really work. Many forti-fications were in place prior to the Qin Dynasty, but it was Qin who or-dered that they all be joined to form a contin-uous wall. During this time, it was reported that over 400,000 la-bourers died, many bur-ied within the walls themselves. As late as 2009, 180 km of the wall was discovered by GPS devices, and in 2015 an-other 10km was uncov-ered. About 2,000 km of the original wall has vanished over time, due to new road construc-

tion, or erosion from mud slides or sand-storms.

During the Ming Dy-nasty, once China was unified, reconstruction of the wall began in ear-nest. This was around 1474. Strategic planning began with inner and outer walls and fortress-es with garrisons and gates. The wall was con-sidered vital to the de-fense of China during this time.

Between the 18th and 20th centuries, the Great Wall emerged as the most common em-blem of China for the Western World, viewed as a show of strength and also a barrier from the rest of the world. In 1987, Unesco designat-ed the Great Wall as a World Heritage Site, rec-ognizing it as one of the most impressive archi-tectural feats in history. And no, you cannot see the Great Wall from the moon! This is just a myth.

These are the most common places to walk the Great Wall:

Checking out China, Part II: The Great WallCarla Nelson of Maritime

Travel continues her journey through the Middle Kingdom

1. Badaling – 80 km from Beijing, most pop-ular, with shops and ho-tels, visited by millions annually.

2. Juyong Pass – 50

km from Beijing, has a Cloud Platform for view-ing, built of white mar-ble.

3. Jinshanling – 125 km from Beijing, has 67

watchtowers, has a cable car to reach the highest section.

4. Mutianyu – 70 km from Beijing, best pre-served, has a chairlift and gondola to reach the highest sections, and

a ‘toboggan’ to descend on a single metal track.

5. Shanhai Pass – the end of the Great Wall, where it meets the sea.

6. Jiumenkou – the only section built as a bridge.

The Great Wall of China near Jinshanling

I walked the Juyong Pass – 3500 steps up, to a height of 7.8m, on a 5m wide path, to a viewing garrison, then 3500 steps down! It took about one hour up, half hour down. There was snow at the top and thick smog the entire way! I couldn’t see much, but I had to do it, it was on the ‘buck-et list’! But I may have to return, as I really want to gaze out along the Wall on a clear day and see the vast expanse of his-tory that others have seen. Regardless, it was one of those ‘pinch me’ experiences!

Next time: Yangtze River and the Three Gorges.

ARIES (March 21-April 19) You will feel better and better as the day goes on. Your energy starts to increase, no matter how you are dealing with a situation. Extremes are likely to play a role in your decisions. By the late afternoon, you will feel as if the Force is with you. Tonight: All smiles. TAURUS (April 20-May 20) Meetings play a significant role in your decision-making process. You hear many different opin-ions, but you’ll lean toward the most positive one. You might want to zero in on what you want without any fuss. Know when you’re too tired to go on. Tonight: Take your leave with grace. GEMINI (May 21-June 20) You’ll give your time and atten-tion to a higher-up who will have something for you to do at the last minute. You come from a se-cure point of view, but you’ll still experience a lot of pressure from your personal life. You cannot be stopped. Tonight: The spotlight is on you!

CANCER (June 21-July 22) Take an overview, and don’t feel intimidated by someone else’s efforts. You could be too focused on what others are doing. Stop comparing yourself to them. You will accomplish what you want even more quickly and far better than you had imagined. Tonight: In the limelight. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) A partner’s emotional response will encourage you to back off some. You could be tired of al-ways having to maintain a posi-tive outlook. Next time you want to tell it like it is, do. You might need to indulge yourself more. Tonight: Make sure there is great music around you. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) You might find that you spend most of the day responding and/or reacting to others. You have a lot of energy, but you still could feel overwhelmed by everything that is happening. A domestic issue lurks in the background. Tonight: Express your caring in a meaningful way. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) You might feel as if you’re being

weighed down by everything you have to do. Rather than let yourself be stressed, relax and just focus on one task at a time. You will be surprised and de-lighted when a loved one offers to pitch in. Tonight: Have fun with a favorite person. SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) Your emotional responses will point you in the right direction. You might not be aware of how many supporters you have, es-pecially in your group of friends. You could go overboard without trying. Settle down by the late afternoon. Tonight: Beam in what you want. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) You will need to tackle some work or responsibilities in the morning, as tension builds to new level. Your creativity soars, as does your desirability. You might be holding back because of feelings for someone else. Are you sure this behavior serves you? Tonight: Be naughty and nice. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) Make calls and schedule a meet-ing. The sooner you get this ap-

pointment arranged, the better off you will be. You’ll cover so much ground, you might want to head home early. You likely will need to make some important calls after you leave. Tonight: Run an errand or two. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) Money, gift-giving and consid-ering more of an experience-ori-ented present will fill your mind with ideas. Brainstorm with a partner or dear friend, though the topic could drift to dinner plans and perhaps a little gossip. Tonight: Welcome the weekend with friends. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) You know exactly what you want, and you’ll manage to get past any hassles in the morning. Others keep distracting you from your errands and from accom-plishing what you need to do. Fo-cus on the financial implications of all your gift-giving. Tonight: Let a friend treat. BORN TODAY Singer/songwriter Christina Aguilera (1980), actor Brad Pitt (1963), actress Katie Holmes (1978)

Dear Annie: Is it appropriate or even normal for a husband to always ask who I am on the phone with or who just texted me? Or to stand behind me while I’m reading my email, unabashedly reading over my shoulder? I don’t have anything to hide, but I find this behavior intrusive and annoying. Sometimes, he will even ask for details about certain parts of my conversation. I don’t dare refuse to answer for fear he will think I’m trying to conceal something. He has a quick temper and becomes defensive and angry if I question him. I hate conflict, so I just answer his questions to avoid his outbursts. One time, my best friend confided something highly personal to me and specifically asked me not to tell anyone. When I refused to disclose this information to my husband, he got very angry, arguing that spouses shouldn’t keep secrets from one another. I don’t feel it’s wrong to keep a confidence that has absolutely nothing to do with him. He did not agree, and I ended up telling him a less-detailed version of our conversation. But I was upset that he pressured me until I conceded. My husband doesn’t automatically report his conversations to me, and I don’t expect him to. Am I too private or is he too nosy? -- Nothing to Hide but My Annoyance Dear Nothing: He’s way too nosy. Confidences between friends or family members do not have to be shared as long as they don’t involve the spouse or the marriage. Saying that you were on the phone with “Myrtle” is sufficient information. Some spouses tell each other every detail of every conversation, but that is up to them. In your case, your husband is badgering and pressuring you for additional information. Either he doesn’t trust you, or he needs to control you. (It’s also possible he is guilty of doing things that he doesn’t want you to know about, and this is why he is overly concerned with your phone conversations and emails.) What concerns us the most is that you feel you must constantly appease him because of his anger issues. Tell him to knock it off before he turns into a full-fledged bully and the marriage is in serious trouble. If he refuses, or if you believe his anger is dangerous or more than you can handle, contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline (thehotline.org) at 1-800-799-SAFE. Dear Annie: My wife and I are having a disagreement about how to sign cards and notes. Does the man’s name come first or does the woman’s? I have always put my name first, but lately she says that her name should be first. So should it be “Tim and Marlene”? Or is it “Marlene and Tim?” -- Your Opinion, Please Dear Tim: Your wife is right. Etiquette says the woman’s name comes first in all cases except where the signature is “Mr. and Mrs. John Smith” or some variation. Of course, not everyone cares, in which case, sign your names however you choose. Annie’s Mailbox is written by Kathy Mitchell and Marcy Sugar, longtime editors of the Ann Landers column. Kathleen Adell Tanner passed away in Calgary, Alberta on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the age of 60 years. Kathie was born on March 14, 1955 in Saskatoon, SK. She was the second of five children born to Robert and Vivian Berger.Kathie grew up with her family in Wardner and it was here that she met the love of her life, Tim Tanner. Kathie and Tim have known each other since grade school and have always been “two peas in a pod”. Theirs has been a long and lasting love. Kathie and Tim were married on February 23, 1974 and soon after their marriage, they dedicated their life to Jehovah in Edmonton, Alberta. They were blessed with two sons; Clayton and Ben. They raised their family in Kimberley and made this their home for the past 40 years. Kathie was a stay-at-home mom to her boys and was very devoted to them. Despite her declining health in later years, Kathie always enjoyed life to the fullest – from camping, gardening and enjoying her family and those around her. She had a positive attitude and was a fighter right to the end. One of the most special days for Kathie was on March 21, 2015 when her beloved grandson was born – Emerson Stark Tanner. When she spoke of Emerson she glowed with pride and was so very happy to be a Grandma!Kathie leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband; Tim and her sons; Clayton (Joanne) and Ben (Ashley) as well as her favorite grandson; Emerson. She also leaves behind her father; Robert Berger and her sisters and brother; Arlene (Jim), Roberta (Graham), Jackie (Sim) and Randy (Tracy). She also leaves Joan who had a very special place in Kathie’s life as her “spiritual mom”. Kathie leaves many extended family members; aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Kathie was predeceased by her mother, Vivian.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Marysville, BC. Memorial donations may be made in Kathie’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.

Condolences may be left for the family at www.markmemorial.com

Top Ten Reasons to Advertise in a Newspaper

1. Advertise to Reach New Customers.Your market changes constantly. Advertising is tremendously helpful in directing customers to the product and services they need, and helps put you ahead of your competition.

2. Your Competition Isn’t Quitting. You’ve got to advertise to get your share of business or lose it to the stores that do. If you cut back on your advertising, you may forfeit new prospective customers to your competition.

3. Advantage Over Competitors Who Cut Back.A five year survey of more than 3,000 companies found that advertisers who maintained or expanded advertising during a troubled economy saw sales increase an average of 100%.

4. Continuous Advertising Strengthens Your Image. When people who postpone buying come back to the marketplace, you’ve got a better chance of getting their business if you’ve continued to maintain a solid, reliable image.

5. Direct Advertising is Cost Efficient.Direct has the advantages – demographic and geographic numbers to afford advertisers the best value and exposure for their advertising dollar.

6. Advertise to Generate Traffic.Continuous traffic is the first step toward sales increases and expanding your base of buyers. The more people who contact you, the more possibilities you have to make sales.

7. Advertise to Make More Sales.Advertising works! Businesses that succeed are usually strong, steady advertisers. Look around. You’ll find the most aggressive and consistent advertisers are almost invariably the most successful.

8. Advertise Because There is Always Business to Generate.Salespeople are on the payroll. As long as you’re in business, you have overhead and you’ve got to advertise to generate a steady cash flow.

9. Advertise to Keep a Healthy Positive Image. In a troubled economy, rumors and bad news travel fast. Advertising corrects gossip, shoots down false reports and projects positively.

10. Advertise to Maintain Employee Morale. When advertising and promotion are cut, salespeople become less motivated. They may believe the store is cutting back, even going out of business.

Want to reach new customers? We read the newspaper every day, Monday to Friday.

For the bulle tinIn what’s become an an-

nual tradition of saying thanks to its customer and staff, Chris Thom (and his family) of Rocky Mountain Diesel and Autobody have taken the joy of giving back to health care a mainstay of their holiday spirit.

Over the years the family and business have support-ed EKFH in providing fund-ing for various areas of care

for both hospitals and health care facilities throughout the East Kootenay. For the past several years the Autobody side of Rocky Mountain Die-sel & Autobody conducts a Crashed Cars awareness event. Every vehicle that enters and leaves the shop receives a personal message from Chris that shares the story of their recognizing the business support and their employees’ commitment

with a gift to EKFH.“It’s an exceptional story

of giving back to communi-ty,” says Donna Grainger, EKFH Executive Director. “Although the focus of the Starlite Campaign is about lighting stars atop the East Kootenay Regional Hospital roofline it really is the stars on the ground that are mak-ing a huge difference in the quality of health care here in the East Kootenay. Chris

and Rocky Mountain Diesel have had an incredible im-pact through their generous financial support over the years, “adds Grainger.

This year the $10,000 gift is being dedicated to sup-port the East Kootenay Re-gional Hospital Oncology Unit.

“We all know someone whose lives, individually and the family, have been affect-ed with a cancer diagnosis.

The gift to the oncology unit is our way of highlighting and saying thanks for the talented and dedicated oncology team that provides services to individuals from through-out the region,” explains Chris Thom, Owner at Rocky Mountain Diesel & Auto-body.

Whether you wish to say thanks, acknowledge a loved one, or simply just because a gift to the Starlite Campaign

can provide funding to pur-chase critically needed med-ical equipment and/or pa-tient comforts. Donations can be made on-line at www.ekfh.ca; at your local hospital or health care facili-ty or through Canada Post to EKFH, 13 24th Ave N, Cran-brook, BC V1C 3H9.

Questions? Call Donna Grainger, Executive Director at 1-877-489-6481 or 250 489-6481.
