Dear Readers,

We hope you've had a great summer! This is the first edition of KidWise for the new school year. I'm sure you're headed into this season with new and fresh ideas for your family. This month is also an exciting month filled with expectation for the upcoming school year with your children.

You know, it is God's plan for inspired learning to be in our lives. He tells us in 2 Timothy 2:15, to 'study to show ourselves ap-proved'. This word 'study' means to make hast and to endeavor to exert one's self and to give diligence to presenting ourselves to God's ways, His word, and His paths.

That verse goes on to say that we are to live, "rightly dividing the word of truth". The word here is the Greek word, "or-tho-to-me'-ō". This word means to proceed forward on straight paths and also means to, "do what is right". The Lord's expression here also in-cludes that we teach truth "directly and correctly".

It's God's plan for our children as well as ourselves to give dili-gence to His plan and purpose for our family. This fall, as you move forward into the new season, remember to diligently move forward and proceed with Jesus and the truth of God's word as the center focus of your life, your children's lives, and your family.

God’s richest and newest blessing,'raising faith-filled kids through the word of God',

As we step into the fall season, we as parents are thinking that summer fun is over and we’ve headed into the new year of learning for our children. When taking the opportunity to partici-pate in our children’s education, the foremost thing we need to realize is, “Who’s the teacher?”

It takes faith to access the promises of God. That faith accessed our salvation the day we accepted Jesus and as we lead our children in the ‘Prayer of Salvation”. That prayer is based on Romans 10:9-10. We believe in our hearts and confess with out mouth to experience the supernatural work of God which is salvation. Amazingly, the Holy Spirit changes us on the inside. The word of God tells us that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, is the same Spirit that brings us into the salvation experience, and is the same Spirit that ‘teaches’ us.

The Holy Spirit is at work in our lives on our be-half. He cares about every aspect. He is at work in our children. Just because they are smaller people doesn’t mean that the Holy Spirit is smaller working in their lives.

The word of God tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:12-13,

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God...not in words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth...”

The word of God also tells us in Luke 2:52,

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

We don’t have to expect anything less for our children. All we need do is access this promise by faith and declare it to our and for our children. We can do this through prayer and by speaking that our children are ‘taught’ by the Lord through the Holy Spirit. It is His promise that our children can

grow like Jesus, “in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man”!

Looking back to 1 Corinthians 2:13, I want to fo-cus on the word, “teacheth”. The scripture says,

“...not in the words which man’s wisdom ‘teacheth’, but which the Holy Ghost ‘teacheth’...”

The first word for ‘teacheth’ is the word, ‘dē-däk-to's’. This word means to ‘instruct’. To be taught, instructed by one and to be taught the teachings and precepts. Here we see that the words which reflect ‘how’ man teaches or brings wisdom is through teaching and instructing. We learn pre-cepts by line upon line and are instructed in these things. We are taught.

Yet, we find the word for, “...which the Holy Ghost ‘teacheth’...”, is the word ‘en’. This word means exactly as it sounds, “in”. Which also in-cludes, “by”, “with”, and “among”. The Holy Spirit teaches “in”, “among” and “with” us. This word denotes a place or position. It implies a re-lation between two and defines a fixed position “in” and “with” a person. For example this word “en” is the same word used in the Christmas story we all know so well. This Greek word is used in the verses of:

Matthew 1:18, where the Lord tells us Mary was, “...’with child’ of the Holy Ghost...” This word ‘with child’ is the word ‘en’. Meaning it is with and by the Holy Spirit. This reflects the Lord is “with” us by the Holy Spirit.

by   Pastor   KimWho Is The Teacher ?

Page 5: KidWise Magazine - September 2011

KidWise 5

In Matthew 1:20, the word “en’ is used about Mary again as the word shows us the Holy Spirit’s message, “...concieved in her...”, the Son of God.

Matthew 1:23, uses the word “en” again to express that Mary, “...shall be with child...” That the child is “with”, “in”, and “among” us.

Yet again, we see the word “en” used to ex-press in Matthew 2:1, that Jesus shall be,

“...born “in” Bethlehem...”

Here in Matthew 2:1, this also reflects that Je-sus was born ‘in’ the town prophesied by God and fulfilled by the promise found in the word of God. Which means, He was born ‘en’ through the promise and, came “among and with us”.

In Matthew 5:13 we see that the word tells us using this same Greek word, “en” that,

“We are the salt of the earth... “wherewith”, (this is the word “en”), shall it be salted...”

As you read this scripture we see that it is the Lord’s plan that we be salted ‘in’ Him and that we be the savior ‘in’ the earth by the Holy

Spirit. Again in Matthew 4:23, Jesus was found spoken to be among us. Or the word there “en”, meaning in the midst of us, healing and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom. Him by His word “en” us, for us, and teaching us.

It is God’s plan to be among us, teach us, and express Himself through us. This would be in any aspect of our living. Including the instruc-tion that raises our children in “wisdom and stature” in all areas of life. As Christian par-ents we can be certain that our children are being “taught of the Lord”.“And all they children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy chil-dren.” Isaiah 54:13

Part of the fruit and example of this can be found with the same Greek word “en”, found in Matthew 3:17. The Holy Spirit ascended on Jesus and showing that His work “in”, “with”, and “among” us brings great reward and great impartation. The word declares to us that God will say  not only of Jesus, but by the Holy Spirit of our children and ourselves as well. That is;

“...This is my beloved Son, (“en”), of whom I am well pleased...”

The Holy Spirit in our children’s lives and in our lives is rela-tional. Not only does He reveal the Son, He teaches us in every walk of life. Through Him, we all grow in “wisdom and stat-ure, and in favor with God and man”.

KidWise 7KICKS Family Life - Family Activity

As we get back into the hustle and bustle of the "back to school" routine, its important that we con-tinue to spend time together as a family. Use this KICKS Family Activity to do just that. The apple theme is perfect for this time of year, and increasing our confessions and focus on the Word is, too!

Supplies:scissorsbrown paper bagglueapple print out (see pg. 21)crayonsnotebook paperhole punchyarn (or something to tie through the holes)sewing machine (optional)

What to do:Cut notebook paper into 4 1/4 by 3 inch sheets. Use hole punch to punch 2-3 holes on each side of the paper.Cut two pieces 6 3/4 by 5 from the paper bag and glue them together. Once they dry, fold in half to make your book cover (finished book is about 3 1/4 by 5) . We went around the edge of our book with the sewing machine, but this is optional and the book looks just as cute without.Make book title from folded notebook paper. Glue (or sew) to cover.Cut out 2-3 apples (depending on how many you want) and color.Use your notebook paper to outline where to punch holes for your cover, then punch the holes. Now place the pages inside your book and tie yarn (or whatever you have) through each hole. Make sure you leave enough for the pages to freely move when you open the book.Write your confessions on your pages. Find things that apply to your life right now and will help you keep focused while being busy. Use this booklet as a family, to come together and talk about each person's confessions and how they're standing in the word.

Some of our confessions are found in:Col. 2:7, Jn. 10:14, II Pet. 1:4, I. Cor. 2:16, Col. 2:6, II Tim. 2:15, Phil. 4:13, and I Pet. 2:9.

This is Levi Leman from

the Jerusalem Times reporting from

Capernaum.  The temple tax was paid by

Peter a friend of Jesus, by a

fish. Peter, a local fisherman grew up in

Capernaum. It was reported that as soon as Jesus and Peter arrived at Capernaum, the temple tax

collectors took Peter aside and questioned him, “Does your Teacher not pay the

temple tax?” Peter answered

'Yes". And when he had

come into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying,

“What do you think, Peter? From whom do the kings of the earth take customs or taxes, from their sons or from strangers?” Peter

replied to Him and said it was by strangers.  Jesus answered him stating,

"Then the sons are free." Peter who is a fisherman by

trade, was

told by Jesus to go fishing at the sea of Galilee and use a hook and line rather than

a net.  He told Peter the first fish you catch, open

his mouth and you will find

a valuable coin and with it, pay both my tax and yours so the tax collectors won't be offended.  Peter did what Jesus told him to do and

sure enough the fish paid

both of their taxes! This is Levi Leman signing off and

going fishing.

Jerusalem Times“Jesus said to him, “But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch;

open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours." Matthew 17:27

Why do people make such funny faces all the time? If I had a camera I could sure show you some of the silliest, funny and even ugly and mean faces you have ever seen.

I'm going to start working on looking happy more often. You know I've heard it said that the outward expression is a reflection of an inward condition.

We should all show the love of Jesus on our faces if He's liv-ing inside us. Lets make an effort to show His love every day as we go to school, spend time with our friends and even when we’re doing our chores! You never know who’s watching. We can always show His love, no matter what we’re doing! WOW! What a concept!

Show His love in your funny face!!

Have you ever had a breaker in your electr ical box tr ip and al l

the l ights on that circuit go out? Do you ever feel l ike a breaker

that is being overloaded? The word of God says we are to "cast

our cares on the Lord", and "take up His yoke because i t ' s easy" .

What does that mean you ask?

I think the best way to put i t is this , we are not equipped or

qual i f ied to carry everything ourselves, we have the Word of God

to use to rel ieve pressure. We also have the Holy Spir i t to guide

us i f we are wil l ing to yield to Him. We have Jesus to "cast our

cares on" by receiving al l the r ights He provided us on the cross.

If you stop and examine the things that have you pressurized you

wil l f ind that they are al l things that are real ly rather small in

l ight of the BIG picture. If they are large, then he took care of

that also.

The blood of Jesus gives us the abi l i ty to conquer any and al l

things that can come against us in this l i fe. Things l ike s ickness,

disease, grief , sadness, depression and addict ion. It doesn't mat-

ter, you can overcome them through the Anointed One and His

anoint ing. So cheer up, al l you need to do is unplug al l that stuff

that is overloading you! Plug into God's goodness and experience

the peace of God.

Resting in His word, is a delight and it is LIFE! I have read the word of God for years and have come to learn, no matter how much you know of His word, no matter how well you are at quoting it, no matter how deeply you have hid His word in your heart, there is nothing like the daily refreshing in reading His word each morning.

Often times as mothers, working people, yes even 'ministry people', we feel that because we know the word so well we can simply quote the scriptures, think on them and share them with others, think-ing that is enough to keep us. What we fail to see is the rest we find, the refresh-ing we find, and the power we find for each new day comes through a daily ex-perience with the Lord through the word.

You see, when a person 'primes a pump' it is meant to restore water pressure. I have personally found that without the daily

living water outpouring through the word the pressure is not maintained. The well may not be dry, but, it certainly isn't flow-ing as it could. Rest, life and the Holy Spirit's power is not flowing at its full maximum potential. I want maximum power and input!

Jesus said in John 4:14, "whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. In-deed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eter-nal life." We drink, and we prime, and we maintain the maximum pressure of His word daily.

Jesus and the word are one. Drink daily of Him through His word. You will expe-rience His life and His refreshing, His rest and His powerful activity working with you! No matter how many times you've read it before, when you read it again, you find the "activity" of God working with, for, and through you!

What is living in the image of God?Living in the image of God isn't about doing the right or the wrong thing. Living in the image of God is knowing who you are through Jesus and what He did for you. Its easy to become a sin conscious person, but the day you become a love and grace conscious person is the day your life will be easier than it ever has been just by trusting what Jesus has done. Isn't it time you live believing what God says about you and knowing what He has promised in His word? That is what being God conscious is all about. No matter what you you think or even what you think about yourself, you can believe what God has said and what He has promised. Even if you have run from Him or turned your back on Him, His love is always there confirming that you will never be forsaken but accepted. Your image IS perfect, its simply about believing it...

Romans 8:38And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,nei-ther our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

Remember: Gods love is acceptance and your image is love and grace through Jesus christ...
