While the report states that the Council remain com- mited to providing quality sports facilities in Kids- grove there are at present no known short or medium term sources of funding. A long term route may be through sales of land which would become available if the school is rebuilt under the Private Finance Ini- tiative on a smaller footprint, but the government are not due to start discussions with the school until 2015. In the meantime sources of funding to maintain the current range of facilities need to be indentified and residents encouraged to use the fa- cility to bring in revenue. The report states: “The immediate success of the centre now relies on sufficient numbers of swimmers, gym and class users returning and using the facility and the avoidance of further building failures.” Merry Christmas to all our readers!! Nine weeks ago the Friends Group opened the Pavil-ion Cafe on Sunday mornings mainly for the football teams playing in the park. This venture has been a

great success. On the 3rd November we opened the Cafe for the Fire-works Display and raised much needed funds. Visitors enjoyed the oatcakes espe-cially as well as hot soup.

We are in the process of or-ganising events for next year and hope they will be as successful as those held this year.

One event which was enjoyed by many youngsters was the Staffordshire Wildlife one which involved youngsters in bug hunts, craft and sports. Upwards of 150 youngsters attended and we hope to put this on next year.

Friends of Clough Hall ParkApart from the Cafe project we have now arranged for a wood carver to carve birds and animals on the top half of the tree on the mound and when funds are available the broad area at the base will be carved to depict the past industry of Kidsgrove. We decided to do this after we had seen the wonderful carvings at Parrotts Drumble just off from Freeport. This forest is well worth a visit.

Thank you to everyone who supports us. If you would like to be part of the Group please contact Mary Maxfield 01782 784335.

Kidsgrove & Newcastle-under-Lyme Citizens Advice Bureau Ltd

Already starting to worry about how you’re going to pay for Christmas this year?

Don’t want to disappoint the kids but just can’t see how you’re going to do it?

Is money tight?

Christmas is a time of giving, but you don’t want to give yourself a New Year debt hangover with credit card bills and loans you can’t afford. Our top tips can help you stay out of the red and in control of your spending.:Be realistic and budget accordingly. Work out how much

you are going to spend on each person – and stick to it. Remember that rent, the mortgage, utility bills, food bills and other existing debts still have to be paid – and the consequences can be severe if they’re not. Even though it’s Christmas, get your priorities right. If you do need more money, don’t just run up an overdraft without talking to your bank first – it will work out much more expensive. If you can afford to pay for your goods outright by cash, cheque, or debit card, don’t be persuaded to take out extended credit agreements unless they really do work out cheaper.Shop around for the best price. Buy what you want and not what other people say you need. Whatever the deal, whatever the temptation, don’t buy from unauthorised traders and don’t borrow from unauthorised lenders.Check for hidden extras in any credit agreement. Work out the total amount payable and ensure that the monthly installments are within your budget be-fore signing. If you’ve borrowed money don’t forget that it won’t be long before you have to make a payment. Make sure you pay on time, even if it’s only the minimum, or you will be faced with additional charges. Put the payment dates in your diary.

Bill Careless, Diamond ChampionIn the WRVS’s national search for Dia-mond Champions, celebrating the role of older volunteers, 90 year old Bill Care-less of Clough Hall Kidsgrove was one of 60 in the Midlands Region chosen from 4,500 nominees to receive a Diamonds Champion Pin specially commissioned by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall patrons of the campaign, for his outstanding voluntary work in the community. The presentation took place on Wednesday October 17th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham where Canon Sharon Palmer MBE, CEO, WRVS West Midlands Region presented each Diamond Champion with their Pin, a certificate signed by their Royal Highness’s is to follow. Bill was accompanied at the ceremony by Cliff Poole Chairman of the Congleton Road Community Centre who nominated Bill on behalf of the committee with the following testimonial supporting his achievements and selection.“On his retirement from work in 1987 Bill volunteered to help his wife Joan who was at the time the secretary of the W.R.V.S. Community Centre in Butt Lane Stoke-on-Trent.His first duties were as a driver delivering meals on wheels to local elderly residents, which he did for 9 years until the W.R.V.S. lost the meals on wheels contract and the centre was taken over by a committee of trustees and became the “Congleton Road Community Centre. The centre then started a weekly Friday luncheon club in conjunction with the W.R.V.S. and Bill continued to be a regular helper, first transporting members to the centre, then serving meals, calling bingo and washing dishes before transporting members back home. For the last 10 years he has run the Darby and Joan club every Thursday afternoon, again often transporting members to and from the meetings. He started organising a Tuesday evening Whist Drive to raise funds at his children’s school P.T.A. and continued until they left school, the evening was so popular that he transferred it to the centre where he is now in his 50th year of running Whist Drives He has also been the Assistant Treasurer, Bookings Clerk, and Caretaker, opening and closing the centre for occasional social bookings at the centre for 25 years.Having lost his wife 6 years ago Bill continues to provide all these services with a quiet ef-ficiency always with a smile on his face, never looking for praise or thanks and we feel at the age of 90 in October he surely deserves to be recognised for his selfless service to the Centre and the community”.

Religious Education Trip to Cadbury WorldIn October a select group of year 10 GCSE Religious Education students made a trip to Cadbury World in Birmingham, highlighting the role of the Cadbury family in their work during the late 19th century.Students learned how the Christian Quakers used their beliefs in God and their under-standing of the Bible to provide both work and accommodation for the people in and around area the village of Bournville. It grew throughout the decades to the present day where it now houses over 25,000 people. The Cadbury family have been hailed for their work in providing above and beyond what is required and are now held as a way in which all businesses could be run. Students throughout the day were exceptional showing superb behaviour, especially in light of more rowdy groups there on the day. Everybody certainly enjoyed two help-ings of melted chocolate along with three other chocolate bars!

Harvest Festival: The Autumn term not only saw a change in weather, but more importantly the beginning of the Harvest Festival, and our annual Harvest Box collection. Thanksgiving ceremonies and celebrations for a successful harvest are both worldwide and a very ancient aspect of Chris-tianity. Following this philosophy, Clough Hall students celebrated this year’s Harvest Festival by creating and

decorating Harvest Boxes, filled with an variety of foodstuffs such as fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as tinned and packet foods. Students then attended a service of thanksgiving, led by Vicar Iain Baker, of St Thomas’ Church, Kidsgrove. The Harvest Boxes were loaded into the school minibus, and distributed to residents of local care and retirement homes. Students personally delivered 67 boxes to: The Meadows, Ravenswood Care Home, Maryhill Day Care Centre and Hollinswood Care Home. All the residents were delighted to see the students, and couldn’t thank them enough for their generosity. You have done yourselves proud, well done!

Olympic star comes to Clough HallMeeting an Olympian is, for many, a dream. For students in Year 8 and in Year 9 at Clough Hall, this dream was turned into reality on Monday 15th October. Ross Davenport, three times Olympian and twice Commonwealth Gold medalist, came to the school as part of the Aspiring Minds support programme which was designed by the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust and was funded by GE Energy (10 volunteers from GE Kidsgrove came to school to support dur-

ing the day). Ross addressed all the students at the start and the end of the day, and he worked with each and every one of the 156 students in one of five workshops.

Across the curriculum…As part of the Magazine Project, all pupils in Year 8 visited The Apollo cinema in Staf-ford on the 17th October 2012.For both their Creative Arts and English assessment, students will be writing a film review based on the action packed adventure ‘Hugo’. This trip, therefore, provided an excellent opportunity for students to not only enjoy watching the film but to also develop their analytical skills as film critics.

Kidsgrove Youth ParliamentThe KYP (Kidsgrove Youth Parliament) elections at Clough Hall have been more successful than ever. This is the second year since the KYP was set up by Councilor Stringer. Students from year group’s eight to eleven were asked to stand for election, if they wished to be KYP rep-resentatives and have their voices heard in the local area.

Elected KYP representatives for 2012 are:

Year eight: Wesley Griffiths, Dylan Adams and Gregory Bowman.Year nine: Callum Lovatt and Alexandra Burke.Year ten: Liam Brookes, James Carter and Jordan Cooper.Year eleven: T’Elanna Douglas, Rebecca Maxfield and Ben Cressy.

Congratulations to all of the new and existing Clough Hall KYP representatives!

Finally…As we approach Christmas, there are a range of exciting events currently being planned for staff, pupils and the community. We look forward to a happy festive season and a successful 2013 here at Clough Hall School.

Back to the Movies is a movie advertising site based in Kidsgrove that promotes the latest blockbusters and smaller independent films. It was set up by Sean Evans who started off with a movie YouTube page showing props that have been used in films. At the same time he was col-lecting videos from celebrities. It quickly ex-panded into interviews with celebrities who had sent in videos such as Jeremy Bulloch who plays Boba Fett in Star Wars and Dick Warlock who played Michael Myers in Halloween. It soon snowballed into Sean getting involved in marketing independent and studio films. Back to the Movies have now been involved in countless films including the new American Pie Reunion (interviewed the director and met Thomas Nicholas from the film), Six Degrees Of Hell which stars Cory Feldman, as well as upcoming TV shows and Web Series. Forty six members of the Congleton Road Community Centre user groups attended a party at the centre on Sunday 28th of October to honour three 90 year olds.

Grace Gilbert 90 in August, Sid Whalley 90 in September and Bill Careless 90 on the day, all who have regularly attended the weekly Thurs-day afternoon Darby and Joan club since their retirement, clocking up a combined 95 years attendance. The occasion was also used to recognise the

services to the community of Vera Bradshaw who has been on the committee for 15 years, 6 of them as the secretary. She has also served for 12 years as a helper with the Darby and Joan club, 12 years with the WRVS Luncheon club, the last 2 as the leader, 7 years serving tea and coffee at the Stoke Rep Theatre, several spells as Chairperson of both the Talke branch and the North Staffs Federation of the Towns Womens Guild committees and was also a founder member of the Kidsgrove C.A.B. voluntary service that deserves the “Certificate of Appreciation” which was presented to her on behalf of the committee by Cliff Poole, Chairman. The evening was a resounding success with everyone enjoying a running buffet fol-lowed by a couple of quizzes, then after much persuading 6 ladies and 6 gentlemen enthusiastically took part in a Gareth Malone style “mock audition” for the best Community Centre Choir competition which caused much amusement and was followed up with a good old sing along by everyone.

Neighbourhood Policing Team Report by PC Dave WoodwardKidsgrove Police

The work in the Town Hall in now complete, the Neigh-bourhood Officers for Kidsgrove will take up residence there. The enquiry office function operates from a counter in the one stop shop at the rear of the building. The dedicated Police desk is the end desk furthest from the entrance

(the far left as you are facing the counters) and is staffed by a member of Police staff. This will allow members of the public to visit the Police Enquiry desk to report is-sues, hand in lost property just as before. The enquiry desk will maintain the same opening hours as before, Monday to Fri-day 9am to 5pm. There is a facility for the officers to conduct some interviews in a private room without the need to attend custody. If you need to post anything to Officers at Kidsgrove the address will now be Kidsgrove Police Post, The Town Hall, Liverpool Road, Kidsgrove, ST7 4EH.

Newcastle Police Station has completed its move to offices located within the Council Civic Offices, Merrial Street, Newcastle. For Newcastle though the en-quiry office is located in the Guild Hall Building on High Street, Newcastle. The move into the Guild has meant a change in opening hours to operate alongside the Council staff and is now Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Christmas Crime PreventionAs the festive season approaches we want you to all play your your part in keeping crime to a minimum. All it needs is for you to look after your own property. Please avoid leaving items on display in your car this includes carrier bags, plain boxes. If they are visible it costs the thief nothing to break in to check what is in them, if it’s nothing of value you now have a damaged car for nothing. Lock items in the boot out of sight. It is the same with your home don’t place valuable or expensive looking items near to windows, ensure doors and windows are locked.

After Christmas record the serial numbers of your new items and property mark them just in case! Below is a service that I have previously recommended and that I have made use of myself. It is useful if you have a member of your family at university to record their items that they have with them.

This service is Immobilise and it can be found at the web site www.immobilise.com. This free to use service provides you with a facility to store the security details of your valuables (make, model, serial number, IMEI number in the case of mobiles {this is on the box, on the phone usually on a label below the battery or when op-erating by keying in *#06# the IMEI will be displayed on the screen}), the system

allows you to scan in and upload a copy of the proof of purchase and even photo-graphs of the item.

In the event that an item is stolen you log back into your account with www.im-mobilise.com and highlight the stolen item and flag them as stolen, the database then copies that info to two other linked sites one is for the sole use of Police forces and allows the Police to check items that come into Police possession against the database and any stolen items will be identified. The other system is used by the used mobile phone companies to check phones they are purchasing are not stolen and also by second hand dealers for items they are considering buying. This will make it more difficult for thieves to dispose of stolen items.

www.immobilise.com is free to use, they cover their costs through the sale of secu-rity goods which are available via the site, though no purchase is necessary.

At this time of year more people seem to suc-cumb to Christmas Spirits of the intoxicating variety, which leads us to the serious matter of drink driving. It is not an opportunity to per-secute the motorist; it is simply to make the roads safe for everyone. We don’t want any family Christmas ruined through serious or fa-tal traffic collisions as a result of drink driving.

In this bid to keep everyone safe officers will be looking out for vehicles with defective lights, tyres and people not wearing seatbelts or drivers using mobile phones, as well as a fixed penalty ticket for one of these offences (£30, £60 or even £60 and 3 points depending on the offence) which can make a hole in the Christmas

KIDSGROVE TIMES WITH PHILIP LEESE

Back in summer - yes, you do re-member, when it was really cold and we had all that heavy rain - I had to leave you all halfway round a walk round that part of the Manor of Tunstall that included Kidsgrove, as described in 1719. We got as far as the “end of Bath Lane.” I presume you’ve all been waiting there for me, with damp anor-aks and clammy feet; well I’m here again to take you back to our starting point where I can dismiss any survivors of this historical (mis)Guided Walk.

We are now on land “which belongs to Hol-linwood, Mr. Taylor’s. So, down Taylors Bath to Clough House Bath and under the wood where formerly had grown an old hedge to an holly & elme in that field.” I think we’re leaving the present Peacocks Hay Road, roughly where the southerly Bath Pool Car Park is and strolling towards Bath Pool. At the time Samuel and William Taylor were the tenants of Hollinswood Farm and Clough House, the old farmhouse which was demolished to make way for Clough Hall in 1800.

They were doing a bit of lawbreaking too, having been recently accused of “breaking soils and getting coal…in the lane in Kidscrew in Rain-scliffe” so the boundary walkers in 1719 might have had to be careful

not to fall into any newly dug coal-holes. I could wish that the early ramblers had men-tioned more permanent features, like Bath Pool, say, in their tour rather than mention-ing old hedges and elm trees which have long since disappeared.

I’m going to veer left before we meet Bath Pool and head towards Hollinwood Farm (now marked only by Farm Pool) and along the western edge of Clough Hall Park, partly because I’m suggesting that the wood we walk ‘under’ is the one which still partially straddles the ridge between Bath Pool Valley and Clough Hall Park. The beeches on the slope above the present rugby pitches and the wood round Clough Hall Lake and alongside Boathorse Road look to me as if they have been there for centuries.

The itinerary takes us “down the waterside by the farther brook to the lower corner of Bankcroft and by the waterside on the west side of the Island at Hardingswood, which divides Staffordshire and Cheshire & comes to the Parish of Lawton.” The best sense I can make of this is that we are following the

stream which flows down part of Carriage Drive into Farm Pool, then reappears alongside the boundary of Clough Hall Park, before disap-pearing under the houses of Grove and then Fifth Avenue. This brings us

KIDSGROVE TIMES WITH PHILIP LEESEnicely to Hardingswood, though I am puzzled how it could have had an island in 1719, when the two canals which now make part of it fit that description weren’t actually built till the 1760s and 1820s,

What I am sure of is that there is an ancient boundary stone (now made inaccessible by railings) near the present Colour works, on a small spur between two streams. One of these probably comes from the Gloucester Road direction, so to follow our next instruction we’ll all have to go across Liverpool Road, under the railway bridge, and left off Gloucester Road to follow a rough track. This takes us, I hope, to “the Barnfield belonging to Moss House” (on Knowsley Lane.)

We’re now definitely heading for Mow Cop, despite the fact that the boundary keeps following ‘old watercourses’ and past features named for people long forgotten, like Cowley Yard and Hodgkinsons Meadow. But we eventually arrive “in the Lane at Hall Lee ( i.e Hall o’Lee.) and go up it to Mole End.” It sounds as if we might bump into Ratty, Mr. Toad and Badger any minute, but in fact, Mole End was the old name for Mount Pleasant. I hope you still have strength in your legs because we’ve now got to get up that particularly nasty steep slope “to a spring called Woodcock’s Well, and from thence to the top of the hill.” We can’t go wrong here! No mention of Mow Cop Castle, of course; it’s still 30 or so years before it was built. We stagger on “along the top of the hill to a cross road which comes in by a little house in the upper corner of Roe Park.” Roe Park Farm and Wood are still there, as the road which is the border of the Parish of Biddulph. Here we turn south again “to the head of Richard Podmore’s land” where we meet the boundary of the old township of Stadmorslow, and so “to the head of the lane leading from Mole to Harrishay Head.” (I’m afraid at this point some walkers may give up and opt for the bus stop in Church Lane, or the easier walk along Sands Road back to Harriseahead, but we determined boundary beaters stride off across the fields again - William Dale’s Meadow, Rough Piece

and Beechs Croft, “all along the Kidhay stones” (now, I wonder what they were, and what happened to them!). We then reach “Mole Com-mon” and go “down betwixt the Kidshay House and Peter Blackhurst’s and down the side of Kent’s Croft onto John Kelsall’s land.” Oh dear, so many forgotten names, and where did Mole Common go to?

The last section of our walk is another welter of old names, and Caus-eyend with, in the middle of it a stretch of the “lower end of the Har-rishays.” This field, which gave its name to Harriseahead, was between High Street and Long Lane, so if we’re at the lower end of it, we are coming along Long Lane, except that we have to leave it for more fields and streams to first Lamberhays and then, at last, the bottom of Knac-marills. We stagger up the east side of it, and we’re back where we be-gan, somewhere in Packmoor. The survivors croakily cheer. Somebody says, “ I think the rain’s giving over at last.”A bit of a strenuous day. Sorry about the weather and the muddy patches, but we’ve learnt that old watercourses used to be valued boundaries, and that the familiar names we give our surroundings can change drastically over the years. Back in 1719 all the jurors who had walked the bounds then put their names to the document and, if they were anything like me, adjourned to the nearest hostelry, say the Grapes at Newchapel, for a well-earned drink. I feel in need of a little something myself even after writing this, let alone walking it.

And here’s a good idea for all those who may need to walk off some Christmas calories: how about doing this walk for real? No, there’s no need to phone and ask me to lead you - just tell me how you got on af-terwards. That’ll do nicely, thanks, especially if you can identify Knac-marill Lane for me.

Readers can contact Philip on 01782 783605 with any information or comments regarding Kidsgrove history.

Joseph Edwards & Sons have been op-erating as a fam-ily business for 130 years making them one of the most es-tablished names in

the area. Joseph and his sons were builders and joiners and as joiners they made the connection to funeral directing by making cof-fins. In those days there were no chapels of rest, mortuary fa-cilities or hearses and limousines. In the late 1800’s when someone died it would have generally been at home and the body stayed in the house until the day of the funeral. The coffin would have been made and taken to the house where the body laid at rest in the front room. There was no cremation option which meant on the day of the funeral the coffin went by wheel bier to church and then to the grave. How times have changed! They now have modern offices with lounge areas, peaceful chapels of rest, modern mortuary facili-ties and a garage which houses our brand new fleet of funeral vehicles including a private ambulance, hearse and limousines.

Joseph was followed into the business by two of his sons, Frank and Tom. They were later joined by Frank’s only son Joe. Joe was also a joiner by trade but had a real passion for sport, he was a county cricketer and a right half for Stoke City, Frank stopped him turning professional at Stoke because he believed Joe should “work for a living!”Joe ran the family business until his premature death at the age of 60, for quite some time he had been working together with his youngest son Andrew and following Joe’s death in 1987 Andrew took control. Andrew is now backed by a team of very professional and highly trained staff, Melanie Preece is business administrator and also oversees the monumental masonry side, Robert Mel-ville is the funeral manager along with his assistants James, Richard, Paul, Mike, Richard, Fred, Bob, and secretary An-gela.No one knows exactly what the next 130 years holds for Joseph Edwards & Sons, but one thing is certain, in this day and age where many funeral firms are owned by either co-operatives or large national and international companies, it’s reassuring to know that at a time of need you can entrust your requirements, however small and simple, grand or unusual to a firm of inde-pendent family funeral directors run by local people in a caring and supportive manner.

Over the coming months we will be looking into ways of ensuring the Clough Hall Residents Association is proactive in ensuring the needs of the residents are met and that the success of the association continues into the future in some form. Our October meeting took the form of an ‘Open Meeting’ giving residents the op-portunity to put questions to some of our local councillors and hear what impact the forthcoming budget cuts and financial restraints imposed by Staffordshire County Council would have on the community.Questions raised were diverse in nature, but focused on the Kidsgrove and Clough Hall area; these included such issues as :-

Problem of illegal and inconsiderate parking on double yellow lines in Kidsgrove.Traffic obstruction in the Avenue as the result of parked cars.Concerns about the state and safety of several un-occupied properties. Is there a definitive plan for the development of Kidsgrove town centre? What percentage of the council tax collected by NBC comes from Kidsgrove residents, and how much is spent on Kidsgrove ?

The councillors were thanked for so ably answering our questions.. for a full report see our WEB site. The Residents Association was formed in 2005 to address the many local prob-lems and concerns of the residents of Clough Hall at that time, and with the help of Kidsgrove Police, Newcastle Borough Council, our Councillors and numer-ous other organisations a positive impact has been made to resolve these issues. A spin-off was the social aspect of the meetings, helping us to get to know our neighbours, which was helped by guest speakers, quiz nights and various other events. We have been conscious for some time that our role now needs to change

The display was organised by the funfair proprietors Warwicks in the end, meaning that the town missed out on more than £4000 of charity money which Rotary puts straight back into the community. We plan to run it as a charity event again next year and we hope that the people of the town will support us.

sured us that he will be at the town hall ready to start at 10am prompt where he will be in at-

tendance until the Christmas lights ‘Switch On’ at approximately 4pm. Bring the children along for a chat with Santa where they’ll be able to enjoy a lollipop and small present off him. We are very pleased that we have been able to add an extra Reindeer Route so that we can bring the festive spirit to even more people this year. The new route takes in the Jamage Road and High Street area of Talke Pits. Santa will be in that area on the evening of Monday December 3rd.We have also added an extra collection at Tesco meaning that we will be there on two consecutive days. Santa and his helpers will be at Tesco on

Town Mayor’s Report Gill BurnettWell here we are, over half way through the year as the Mayor and I am still as busy as ever.

I can’t believe how fast the time has passed and I am enjoying every second of it. Over the last couple of months I have attended a number of functions ranging from presentation evenings, meeting visitors from afar and a 1940’s Dance.

On 25th September it was time for the annual Kidsgrove Allotments Awards. I was proud to present awards to the local tennants who were receiving recognition for their hard work over the last year.

The ‘St Margaret Ward Presentation Evening’ is held annually at the Vic-toria Hall, Hanley. It was a wonder-ful evening and such a pleasure to see how hard all the younger gen-eration work to achieve such high results.

On the 9th November we were hon-

oured to receive a whirlwind visit from a Canadian academic, Professor Andre Kuczewski, a very interest-ing gentleman who was visiting our town to see various places of interest including Reginald Mitchell’s birth place in Butt Lane.

We offered him our best hospitality and provided Staffordshire Cheese

Oatcakes and English Tea while he admired our beautiful Kidsgrove Victoria Hall and the bronze ‘Regi-nald Mitchell Commemorative Plaque’ in the main hall.

The hall was festooned with Union Jack bunting and WW2 memorabil-ia in preparation for the 1940’s Re-membered Dance held on Saturday 10th November and looked brilliant.

Then one of the highlights of the year, the 1940’s Dance at Kidsgrove Town Hall on the eve of Remem-brance Day. Poppy Drop and all. A fabulous night was had by all.

There are also some up coming fundraising events, it would be great to see as many of you there as possible.

On Saturday 1st December from 10am to 4pm Kidsgrove will be holding its yearly Victorian Christmas Market and Christmas light switch on at the Town Hall. There will be something for everyone from stalls, raffles, hot food and of course you can’t forget a visit to Santa! It is re-ally a great festive family day out.

Next on Friday 7th December from 7.30pm I am holding a Seasonal Choir Concert at St Thomas Church The Avenue. Kidsgrove Commu-nity Choir will be performing both Christmas carols and other popular songs. Tickets are £5 and are available from Kidsgrove Town Hall and St Thomas’ Church.

Lastly don’t forget the Deputy Mayor is holding a New Years Eve Dance at Kidsgrove Town Hall on 31st December Tickets are £10 Adults and £6 for children and are available from Kidsgrove Town Hall

All monies raised at these events will be for the Mayors Charities.
