Morgan & Roane. Inside this edition of the newsletter is an explanation of

the services that are provided by a Child Advocacy Center. We wouldn’t be

able to help victims of child abuse if it weren’t for the generous donors such

as yourself. You help us in our efforts to heal the pain of child abuse. We

appreciate you!

Kids First Child Advocacy Center Needs Your Help

Did you know: Child Abuse Prevents Orderly Construction of the Child’s Brain while T0xic Stress disrupts the Architecture of the

Developing Brain thus impacting the child’s Future Opportunities and

ultimately the Child’s Community.

Your donation builds a stronger, healthier community and reverses the long-term effects of Child Abuse by

Providing Victims of Child Abuse the Following Services:

Therapy for victims of severe physical abuse and sex abuse

Forensic Interviews

School-based Prevention Program cost $4 per child and helps children

understand body safety thus reducing victimization of young children

A $10 gas card can be given to those non-offending caregivers to off-set the costs of transportation needed for the victim to participate in therapy

Community Support is necessary to promote overall prosperity and depends on the well-being of all members, ultimately benefitting all of us. Your donation gives

victims of child abuse the chance to develop skills that will later become the basis of a prosperous society.

BACK TO SCHOOL BASH

We were able to host another successful Back-to-School Bash for

our clients-distributing 40 backpacks with school supplies, a visit

from Zoo Knoxville, and a pizza dinner! All was made possible

through the generous donations made to our CAC for the event.

Below are some pictures from the event. Thank you everyone for

your support to this much anticipated event! We would like to

especially thank our donors: Jonathan Monat, Air Force Sergeants

Chapter 479, Knights of Columbus Council 12633, The Cobb Family,

and Hubbell International.

Zoo Knoxville brought animal skins, skeletons, Madagascar hissing

cockroaches, Naked Mole Rats and a Rosy Boa snake! The kids

loved it!

Volunteers Ellen and Gloria assisted

serving the kids and their caregivers

pizza and cookies! We love our

volunteers!

We want to thank Bentley Cobb for his generous donation

of snacks and drinks ! Instead of receiving birthday gifts

for his recent birthday, Bentley asked for donations of

snacks and drinks that he could bring to our Child

Advocacy Center. Our center provides snacks and drinks

to clients and their caregivers to make their visit as

stress-free as possible. We are very appreciative of his

generosity and thoughtfulness! This isn’t the first time

Bentley and his family have donated to the CAC. Earlier

this year, Bentley and his parents initiated a toy drive for

our organization in loving memory of Bentley’s brother

Jack who would've been two years old this year. We are

very grateful to the Cobb family for their numerous

donations to our agency!

Thanks Bentley !!!

Reporting Child Abuse

Tennessee Law requires that any person who knows or has reason to suspect that a

child has been abused must report the allegation to the toll-free hotline number or

local law enforcement.

Remember, “has reason to suspect” means you have seen indicators of abuse, the

child has disclosed abuse, or you have a “gut” feeling something may not be right.

It does not mean that you are certain the abuse

occurred. Reporting abuse, or suspected abuse, is

actually a request for professionals to investigate further. Failure to report child

abuse is punishable by up to 11 months and 29 days in jail and a maximum fine of

$2,500.

If you suspect child abuse call the

Tennessee Toll-Free Hotline at 1-877-237-0004
