Keystone Technology Plan
Presentation to Chesapeake Bay Program Information Management
SubcommitteeMay 19, 2004
Nancie L. ImlerChief Information Officer
Background Information
More than 40 entities under the jurisdiction of the Governor of the Commonwealth of PA invest approximately $1 Billion annually to create and support information technology (IT) infrastructure and systems.
Investment and development efforts of this scope and magnitude need to be prioritized and leveraged to enhance information sharing and standardization across state government agencies.
The events of 9/11/01 have generated an increased need for strengthening homeland security and coordinating IT security controls to protect the Commonwealth Citizens and infrastructure from attack.
In April 2004, Governor Rendell signed an Executive Order which fundamentally
reshapes the governance structure for IT in the
Commonwealth.
