• President of Iraq from July 16, 1979 through April 9, 2003

• Captured during Operation Red Dawn on December 13, 2003 outside of Tikrit

• On November 5, 2006, Saddam was found guilty of crimes against humanity

• He was hung on December 30, 2006

Nouri al-Maliki

• Assumed position of Prime Minister of Iraq on May 20, 2006

• Signed Saddam Hussein’s death warrant on December 30, 2006

• Met with George W. Bush on December 14, 2008, when Muntadhar al Zaidi threw a shoe at Bush

Taha Yassin Ramadan

• Vice President of Iraq from March 1991 until the fall of Saddam Hussein in April 2003

• Captured in Mosul on August 19, 2003• On November 5, 2006, he was sentenced to

life imprisonment• On February 12, 2007, that ruling was

overturned, and he was sentenced to death by hanging

• He was hung on the fourth anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq, on March 20, 2007 9

• Saddam’s liason with UN inspectors in the run up to the invasion of Iraq

• Insisted Iraq had destroyed all WMDs• Turned himself in to coalition forces on

April 12, 2003
