February 2015

Dear Visitor:

On behalf of the citizens of Cincinnati, I am honored to invite you to our great city.

Cincinnati has invested billions of dollars in recent downtown and river-front development, including the historic Over-the-Rhine neighbor-hood and The Banks entertainment district.

Winter is an especially great time to visit our city. In addition to the buzz of the crowds excited about the holiday season, Cincinnati has several special attractions at this time of the year. They include the ice skating rink and large holiday tree at Fountain Square, the Duke Energy holiday toy train display at Museum Center at Union Terminal, the Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, and many more!

Key Magazine Cincinnati is a great resource for learning about the many attractions we have to offer. With world-class museums and theaters, one of the top five zoos in the nation, touring Broadway productions and incredible architec-ture, Cincinnati has something for everyone to enjoy.

Cincinnati will soon play host to the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, adding to the list of high-profile, large events that have called our city home. We are honored to welcome thousands of convention visitors to our city each year, and know that your decision to visit the Queen City will not leave you disappointed.

I am confident you will enjoy your stay in Cincinnati. Please enjoy our hospitality, sample our many amenities and have a wonderful time. We are glad you’re here!

Sincerely,

Mayor John Cranley

Imagine yourself entranced by a dream world, where exquisite dancing expresses timeless stories, and the profound culture of China is

shared through a masterful blend of Chinese and Western music...this is the world of Shen Yun.

“Shen Yun” is a Chinese word that can be translated as “the beauty of heavenly beings dancing.” This name is meant to express what Shen Yun aspires to achieve: an experience so beautiful and joyous that it evokes a sense of the heavens. With vividly animated digital backdrops that transport you through time and space, Shen

Yun will delight and mystify you. You might see fairies leave a heavenly palace to dance among the clouds, or perhaps a dragon soaring majestically above the waves. The Shen Yun orchestra is a perfect harmony of the East and West, presenting you with the best of the greatest classical music traditions.

Shen Yun is in Cincinnati for just three shows, February 27-28. For tickets contact the Aronoff Center for the Arts, or go to ShenYun.com/Cincin-nati. Don’t miss out on this stunning and magical production!

W hen visiting Cincinnati, it’s tradition to dine at Montgomery Inn. When you choose The Boathouse location, no

doubt you’ll be greeted by Dean Gregory himself, the man in charge, always with a gracious smile and a warm handshake. Dean IS The Montgomery Inn Boathouse…and for visitors to Greater Cincin-nati who may not know, Montgomery Inn is THE place for BBQ ribs. Bob Hope was so fond of ribs from Montgomery Inn, he made free TV commer-cials for the ribs, promoting them far and wide. No surprise that celebrities, dignitaries, sports figures and teams, and even presidents of the United States have made Montgomery Inn a must-visit in order to enjoy the famous ribs whenever they came to Cincinnati. The first Montgomery Inn opened in 1951, and has since grown to include locations in downtown Cincinnati, Fort Mitchell, KY, Dublin, OH, and the original in Montgomery, OH. It has been named one of the top 10 BBQ restaurants in the United States. A long list of celebs have stopped in over the years, including Eric Clapton, Bill Cosby, Tommy LaSorda, James Brown, Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz, Andre Agassi, and every U.S. president since Gerald Ford.

A new sauce has been “invented” by the Montgomery Inn family, a chipotle version….and

it’s spicey goodness! The original sauce was the personal creation of Matula Gregory, matriarch of Montgomery Inn’s fantastic success. Husband Ted, later known as The Ribs King, ran a bar back in 1951, and asked his wife to cook up some ribs for him and a few of his buddies one night. That’s how things started—everybody loved them, and that sauce! “That sauce is great!” was the consen-sus of all who tried it.

In the family tradition, Tom Gregory, son of Matula and Ted, created the new version in the kitchens of Montgomery Inn. He did it the hard way, through trial and error, using only quality, natural ingredients. The new sauce is billed as a perfect marriage of the original’s sweet and spicy flavor, combined with the warm heat of smoked jalapeno peppers.

You can enjoy the new chipotle sauce at any of the Montgomery Inn locations, on ribs, chicken and more. Also, the sauce is bottled for purchase and use at home. Ask at the restaurant, or find Montgomery Inn sauces in regional Kroger stores, and other grocers. The sauce is available for shipment worldwide at www.cincyfavorites.com. In 2013, Montgomery Inn sauce was recognized as one of the top mail order items ever, topping 30 million bottles shipped worldwide.
