1Case StudyKewl Cabs ambitions of becoming Everyones private driver has taken a massive beating with the company getting embroiled in a host of controversies around the world. Silicon Valleys most valuable startup, with a presence in 58 countries and 300 cities worldwide, has hit problems around the world which threaten to slow down its spectacular growth.

At the fore is the complaint about Kewl Cab drivers behaving badly and jeopardizing public safety. Cases of abuse, kidnapping, assault and accident have been registered against Kewl Cabs drivers as the number of lawsuits filed by private entities pile up. Such incidents have raised questions about Kewl Cabs driver vetting process and have led to the company facing penalties or its services being banned in several states.

In France, the company had to suspend its service as tensions with Frances taxi drivers came to a head. Legacy black car and taxi drivers in Mexico, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany routinely protest against Kewl Cab and petition their governments for a ban on the company, citing its skirting licensing fees and inspections. In several places, competitors and regulators have accused the company of resorting to deceptive commercial practices.
