Thanks to the Side Channel Connecting Module VSK, the K3500 can also be configured with two channels, each with its own input module and Grouping and Folding Module.– A number of different, individual input modules or combinations

of input modules are available for dispensing the main documents to the system.

– A K3500 can include an optional number of Feeder Modules (0 - X) for dispensing enclosures. The Feeder Modules can be operated with reading.

Interface Module

Interface modules are used as spacers between left or right versions of input modules lined up one after the other in an inserting system. They also enable the incorporation of external devices such as the Kern 90, Bookmaker modules or special input modules and enclosure feeders. Vertical Stacking Module

The Vertical Stacking Module consists of two main components: the Vertical Stacker and the Stack Conveyor.The Vertical Stacker sets upright envelopes that have been filled with documents and sealed. Then it passes them on to the Stack Conveyor.On account of their vertical position, the Stack Conveyor can hold at least four times as many mail pieces as a conventional Shingling Conveyor. Output Reading

At the exit from an inserting machine, information on documents can be read through the envelope window by means of a scanner or camera. The reading system is positioned within the transport path of the output configuration. Documents that cannot be read are diverted.The output reading system provides an optional interface for the mailFactory Software Suite. By means of an output reader it is even possible to integrate products from third-party suppliers into the mailFactory software environment.

In order to relieve operators of repetitive tasks, Kern has developed the Kern 146 Folder, which is capable of producing fanfold stacks as high as 1,372 mm (54”)!Such high stacks can be positioned easily in front of an inserter or any other finishing machine, thanks to the mobile stack trolley.
