ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES

Take on the challenges and soak up the serenity; there’s no place quite like Kerem

Adventure Camp. It’s great fun in the great outdoors! You can add even more adventure

to your camp with these fantastic activities! And remember to check back to the website

regularly; new and exciting activities are being developed all the time.

Please be advised that activities are subject to availability and weather conditions, and

deposits are required.

ARCHERY

You may not be wearing tights; but you will feel like Robin Hood and his merry men! Our

archery program is delivered by experienced local instructors, ensuring excellent

coaching and maximum enjoyment for all participants. Participants must be 9 years old or

above. Instructors provided, additional supervision to be supplied by the group.

ASTRONOMY DISCOVERY NIGHTS

Kerem Adventure Camp is the perfect place to explore the big night sky. Leading

Western Australian Astronomers deliver discovery programs for campers, from

introductory to advanced levels. Telescopes are provided and programs are tailored to

your group. This is an experience you will never forget! Activity duration: 1.5 – 2 hours.

BOOT CAMP and FITNESS ACTIVITIES

We love to promote healthy living, fitness and personal challenges! Boot Camp and

fitness activities don’t have to be all about pain, shouting, blood, sweat and tears…but

they can be! Our qualified and experienced instructors will tailor a session to suit the age

and fitness level of your group, as well as taking into consideration the outcomes you aim

to achieve by participating in the activity. Team work and leadership development form a

natural part of the Boot Camp and fitness experience at Kerem Adventure Camp.

Boot Camps are open to campers and groups coming to the Camp for Day Visits.

Minimum and maximum numbers apply.

BUSHWALK DISCOVERY TOUR

A bushwalk discovery tour can be facilitated by Kerem Adventure Camp staff, includes

exploring the billabong located on the property. Hear tales of historic outlaws who

camped in the area and get in touch with some history of the traditional custodians of the

land. Activity duration: 1 – 1.5 hours as required.

CAPTURE THE FLAG

Dust off the commando gear and prepare for a night of stealth as we bring the traditional

game of capture the flag into the night. Played on our open lawn, campers will tire

themselves out in a fun and safe environment. Activity duration: 1.5 hours.

COLOUR WAR

Our Colour Wars are a favourite with campers! Teams earn their ammunition through

tough challenges, defend their colour stores from raiding parties and then launch into an

all-out colour war with the simple objective of getting more colour on the opposition than

they get on you!

After the colour war participants need to wash down outside before showering. Colour

war participants are not permitted in dorms or communal areas or swimming pool until

they have showered. Activity duration: 60 minutes

DISC GOLF

Disc Golf, also known as Frisbee Golf, is a game of precision and accuracy in which

players throw the disc (Frisbee) towards the basket with the aim of completing the course

in the least number of throws possible. Players can choose to play individually or in

teams completing either six holes or the full nine-hole course. Sounds easy

enough…right? Groups that finish early can join in a fun game of Ultimate Frisbee (camp

rules!) or Frisbee Volleyball (you’ve got to see it to believe it!)

GLOW SPORTS

Wear your campers out with glow in the dark volleyball and soccer. You’ll never play

during daylight hours again! Activity duration: 1 – 2 hours.

LOW ROPES COURSE

Take the challenge of our low ropes course, suitable for ages 7 and over. Allow our

trained facilitators to guide your group around our beautifully designed course. With

varying degrees of ease and difficulty, there is something for everyone. If time permits,

undertake speed and accuracy challenges, or move on to the team elements and work

together to master the ropes! Facilitation of this activity by Kerem staff is required.

Activity duration: 1 – 1.5 hours depending on numbers (maximum of 30 per group).

LOW ROPES COURSE TEAM ELEMENTS

The Team Elements of the Low Ropes Course provide a unique challenge that will bring

your group together. Warm up with activities that build trust and before we take activities

off the ground! Activity duration: 1 – 2 hours as required.

NIGHT BUSH STALK

See the Kerem change as the stars come out and the bush comes alive! Experience the

spooky swamp and moon-lit landscape as you enjoy a guided tour of Kerem at night.

Activity duration: 1 – 1.5 hours

ORIENTEERING

Put away the GPS and brush up on those map reading skills! Our orienteering courses

are suitable for everyone from beginners to the more experienced. Our fenced property

provides a safe, expansive space for your orienteering experience. Activity duration: 1 –

3 hours as required.

ROCK CLIMBING

Take the vertical challenge! Adventure activities don’t come much bigger – or should we

say, taller – than this. Campers are challenged to reach the top of this whopping 8m

climb (I hear it’s a great view from up there!). This activity is supervised by fully qualified

staff and uses only the best in safety equipment.

SWIMMING POOL

The pool is always a winner with campers! Take a dip in our beautiful in-ground pool,

surrounded by nature – you’ll feel like you’re a million miles away. A minimum of two

supervisors must be provided by camp groups. Supervisors must be over the age of 18

and must have an aquatic supervision qualification that satisfies the camp group’s

organisational policies and/or insurance policy. Maximum of 30 swimmers in pool area at

one time. It is the responsibility of the group attending to ensure that only competent

swimmers use the pool. The pool ranges in depth from 1m to 2.4m.

THE MAZE HOME OF OUTBACK SPLASH

Enjoy a day at one of Perth’s premier theme parks, The Maze Family Fun Park is located

just 2min away by bus, or can be accessed by a short 20min bush walk. Featuring the

Outback Splash! Waterslide Playground in the summer and loads of mazes, animals and

games all year round; guests at Kerem Adventure Camp receive a discount off standard

admission rates at Outback Splash when staying at the Camp.

Please note: walking access to The Maze and Outback Splash is weather dependant.

The track is not suitable for walking in extremely wet weather and caution should be

taken if choosing to walk in the heat of summer.

Activity duration: 2 hours – all day.

TEAM GAMES

Let our Kerem staff entertain and challenge you with a vast array of exciting team games.

Providing a range of team and individual challenges, our team games encourage groups

to work together and provide the opportunity to practise leadership skills.

TUG-O-WAR

Heave-ho campers! A great activity to use up loads of energy and enjoy some light

competition. There is no charge to play tug-o-war, however bookings are required to

ensure camp staff have checked-out the required equipment.

VOLLEYBALL and BASKETBALL

Enjoy these popular ball sports as a free time or organised activity; you can even run

your own mini tournament! The volleyball court is a full sized court (with adjustable net

height) and the basketball ring and backboard are competition size, with a half court

concrete court, making it great for shooting casual hoops or some modified competition.

Use of the basketball and volleyball facilities are free of charge unless Kerem Adventure

Camp staff are required to lead the activity session (see standard supervisor rates).

ZORB BALLS

Jump into a Zorb Ball and find out what it feels like to be a hamster on the go! Traverse a

course, race a friend or simply roll around until you can roll no more! Bookings are

required and minimum numbers apply.

TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES

Kerem Adventure Camp has some fantastic, fun, team building activities. Activities range

in complexity, physicality and independence, so let us know what you’d like to achieve

out of your team building session and we’ll create the perfect program for you! Camp

activities can be incorporated into team building programs. Other activities include:

TREASURE HUNT: Participants are linked together in small groups to solve the cryptic

riddles that will lead them to the hidden location of mystery symbols. The groups must

find all the mystery symbols to complete the challenge. This activity requires team work

and out of the box thinking! Activity duration: 30-45min.

WATER TOTEM: Working in small groups, participants need to work together to fill the

water totem using the utensils provided to win the race and float their ping pong ball to

the top of the totem. This may sound easy but the totems are holey and the utensils are

stingy! Activity duration: 30-45min.

PIPE WORKS: To complete this challenge teams break up into two groups; raft builders

and hydraulic engineers! While the raft builders are foraging for materials to build the raft,

the hydraulic engineers have to assemble their pipes in the one and only correct order, to

carry water from the reservoir to the river. The first team to float their raft down the river

wins! Activity duration: 30-45min.

WATER BOMB VOLLEYBALL: This twist on traditional volleyball requires co-operation

and team work as players attempt to score points and avoid getting wet! Activity

duration: 30-45 minutes.

Team building activities can be self-facilitated or facilitated by Kerem Adventure Camp

staff. Standard supervision rates apply.

RECREATION PROGRAMS

At Kerem Adventure Camp we are passionate about making every camp experience a

memorable one. We value the time you spend with us; and we want that time to be some

of the best of your life! So let our team do all the work for you and tailor a camp program

that’s made especially for you. We offer fully programmed camps from one day to one

week (or even two!).

When you choose a programmed camp you are free to relax and enjoy your camp

experience, knowing that we have thought of everything AND organised it all for you!

Programmed camps include accommodation, full catering, a full activities program and all

the qualified instructors required to lead the selected activities. All you have to do is

provide the additional adult supervision required for your activities.

Camp Groups are welcome to organise their own activities provided by a 3rd party,

however details of the 3rd party provider must be supplied to Camp Management prior to

booking. Camp Management reserve the right to full discretion over the activities and

providers admitted to Camp premises. Kerem Adventure Camp accepts no responsibility

for any injury, illness, loss of life, damage or loss of property that may occur during any

activity.
