On December 5th, the new planet Kep-ler 22-B was discov-ered by NASA which is in the Kep-ler 22 system. Its habitat makes it possible for extra-terrestrial life to in-habit. It is unknown whether it has a gas, rocky or liquid com-position. Located 600 light years away, it’s host star falls in the same category as our Sun, the G-type. Out of the 54 planets

that could suit life, Kepler was the first to be confirmed! This is going to be ex-citing! Scientists are going to find lots more and this is just the begin-ning! It is the 1094 candidate to have extraterrestrial be-ings.

Though this happens only

once or twice a year in the

US, there are no particular

rules of what to do when

infants are swapped at

birth.

30-year-old Paula John-

son struggles with the fact

that her 3-year-old daugh-

ter, Callie, is certainly the

child of Whitney Roger

and Kevin Outturn – who

had died of a horrific car

accident 4 days after learn-

ing, their daughter, Rebec-

ca, positively belongs to

Paula. The nightmare of

the apparent switch took

place at in the summer of

1995.

On August 7, Paula met

Outturn and Roger ’ s par-

ents ( for the first time )

for almost more than 5

hours . “ There was a lot

of crying, swapping stories

and laughter. We could

have talked all night ” -

They also swapped gifts: a

Cabbage Patch Kid for Re-

becca and a Tickle Me

Elmo for Callie. They

learned about each daugh-

ter and found similarities of

their biological mother.

“ C rab legs are my favour-

ite food and I found out

their Rebecca ’ s too, ”

quoted Paula. She also

recounted that Callie ’ s

preferred foods are ice-

cream, pizza and chicken-

some of Whitney ’ s fa-

vourite! Rebecca and Cal-

lie themselves weren ’ t

present during the private

meeting. They also looked

at photos of the girls.

“ S he looks so much like

me when I was a child, ”

explains Johnson. Of Re-

becca, who has the same

light brown hair as Paula

before she dyed it. And the

Outturns and Rogers’ no-

tice Kevin ’ s winning smile

in Callie, who placed se-

cond in the Tiny Miss

Greene County beauty

pageant.

The question of what to do

was left for another day.

But Johnson , the parents

of Whitney and Kevin

agree that when Rebecca

and Callie are old enough

to be told how their lives

had unknowingly swapped

and tangled, one thing will

remain clear: “ They are

not orphans, ” say Rebec-

ca ’ s step grandmother,

Brenda Rogers.

Santa Claus, usually called ‘Santa’ for short, brings gifts to the houses of the good children during the evening of Christmas Eve, on December the

24th. Santa Claus is a plump, jolly, white-bearded man wearing a red coat and black leather boots. This image became popular

in the United States and Canada in the 19th century because of a cartoonist called Thomas Nast. Songs, radios, children’s books and films have talked about

this image, making sure more and more people knew about it.

Santa Claus lives in the North Pole, according to a tradition that can be traced down in the 1980s. He has

more ‘magical elves’ to

help him, and keep him company, that anyone can count and nine (originally eight) flying reindeer. Father Christmas, has lots of other names, countries

from all around the world. He can be called Santa Claus, Père Noël, the Wei-hnachtsmann; Saint Nicho-las or Sinterklaas; the

Since the 20th century, in an idea popularized by the 1934, Santa Claus has been believed to make a list of

children throughout the world, categorizing them

according to their behav-iour ("naughty" or "nice") and to deliver presents, including toys, and candy to all of the

good girls and boys in the

world, and sometimes coal to the naughty children, on the single night of Christmas Eve. He accomplishes this with the aid of the elves who make the toys in the work-

shop and the reindeer who pull his sleigh. By Alice Payen 6E

Iphone 4S is finally out.

This amazing phone is also

known as the Iphone for

Steve; this is because Ste-

ve Jobs (February 24 1955

— October 5 2011) the for-

mer CEO of apple inc. Has

The Iphone 4S has the dual core A5 chip which makes the Iphone 4S 2 times faster than the

Iphone 4 and up to seven times faster graphics. The A5 chip is so power efficient that it gives

the Iphone 4S a longer battery life. Siri is your personal assistant (if you have an Iphone 4S)

all you have to do is ask. You can just ask Siri are there good places to have dinner or what’s

the weather like today or what should I bring to Pattaya and it

will tell you. You can also send texts and set

reminders. You can even say what you want it to type and

Siri will type what you want for you. You can even search

stuff, set an alarm, find a person you want to contact.

Set an alarm and ask for directions!!! You can track

your stocks (for adults), set a timer and ask Siri what you can

do about Siri!

Siri has two types of voices the first one is a girl it is found in America the second one is a

man it can be found in the United Kingdom. The camera in the Iphone 4S is more better than

ever before; it is an 8 megapixel camera. The video camera now has 1080p HD which

makes the videoing a lot more affective. It has a more effective retina display which makes

all the colours look more... Well colourful!!! You can now use your Iphone 4S as a remote for

your T.V., your T.V. can also play the movies you have on your Iphone 4S only if you have

Apple T.V. You can now print stuff off your Iphone 4S over the wifi. You can now call 2x faster

than the normal Iphone 4.

Let us wonder what apple will produce next...

Your best Christmas present would not be

a Galaxy tab; a Kindle Fire or a tab-

let laptop-iPad 2 would top all com-

petitors of iPad. With its amazing

graphics and a front and rear facing

camera, it’s no doubt it’s the top of

the top! Apple designers managed to

incorporate a tiny Facetime camera

to enable video calling to your

friends! Plus, they removed the thick

bits of the iPad while allowing up to

10 whole hours of battery life on a

full charge, all thanks to the all new

Apple dual core A5 chip that is twice

as fast as its predecessor, the Apple

A4 which is found on the iPad, iPh-

one 4 and iPod Touch. With 2 indi-

vidual processors handling the work,

applications load much faster and graphics

that’s 2 times clearer. Apple also intro-

duced the smart cover which is designed to

replace those ugly cases that you’ve got

your eyes on that compromises the iPad 2’s

thinness. The best thing is that it can be re-

moved by just pulling the fabric and the

magnet un-clips. It also doubles as a movie

stand and a position that lets you type

comfortably on the virtual keyboard.

So tap away at your Christmas present!

Macbook

If thins your style, this notebook will be the best present EVER! The all new updat-

ed Macbook Air includes a multi-touch track pad instead of you having to buy a sep-

arate at iBeat or iStudio!

Although having less USB ports, this horribly awesome Macbook will activate and

turn on instantly, even after ONE WHOLE MONTH!

Clever apple designers managed to include a full sized keyboard with backlights to

relax your normally strained eyes. Another amazing feature is the ability to store up

to 5 [the 11 inch version] or 7 [the 13 inch version] hours of battery. Isn’t that

AMAZING? By the end of 2010, Apple managed to sell a staggering 420,000 units,

no doubt with all the amazing features included! The operating system for this amaz-

ing ultraportable device is the newly introduced Mac OS X “Lion” which makes use

of the hidden Facetime camera that’s so tiny, its barely visible with the naked eye

and utilizes a system that magnify your Safari screen to full size which provides

maximum screen space for the app. This Mac runs on a Dual Core I5/7 which not

only makes you breeze through work but also has two cores handling the work indi-

vidually, improving performance and speed up loading time by 2.5 times compared

to a previous generation Mac!!! By Klang 5C, member of iPatana.

The revenge of the cookies The mission to make children and families come to-

gether for this amazing day that Christ was born on.

Santa always loved giving presents and munching on

delightful cookies whilst gulping down milk.

He traveled thousands of kilometers around the

world, he arrived at this small house it scared him

out but he knew he had to give the children presents.

The door creaked open, the darkness seeped through

the thick layers of wool. His eyes glared at the glori-

ous gifts that the family had left, his throat croaked

for the milk. He then moved in so he could devour the

luscious cookies. Suddenly the cookies pounced at him,

he tried not to bellow, they eviscerated the first lay-

er with their sharp teeth. Whilst trying to rip off

the cookies, reinforcements arrived, the vast army

leaped and took chunks of wool with every bite. Sweat

tumbled onto the floor, the fear was all over his

body… Santa waS in trouble.

The elf decided to see what was going on, the sight

shocked him and immediately dragged Santa out of the

situation. Luckily, the milk made cracks across the

cookieS So they fell to the floor… lifeleSS.

Santa came back from his Christmas trip, his fear of

cookies overwhelmed with his experience. So he decid-

ed to have cake!

15

Amongst rows of toys, dolls and games stood one busy man with a big, fat belly, dressed in red from head to toe. „Are all the toys packed?‟ snapped Santa, his belly shaking as he spoke. „No sir, they‟ll be done in a minute.‟ One of his elves replied from the wrapping machine. This year, every thing had gone slow. Santa didn‟t receive all his letters from the children around the world until September; half of his elves fell sick and his sleigh had broken down this morning. He was in a terrible rush to get every-thing completed. Suddenly, his recently purchased, antique, wooden cuckoo clock started to screech annoy-ingly. He was supposed to leave by now but the toys were still being loaded into the sleigh. „We‟re done sir!‟ shouted an elf. Before the elf had even finished his sentence, Santa whizzed past him and leap into his sleigh. He whipped at the reins with all his might and off the reindeer flew into the midnight sky. „Ho ho ho! Off I go!‟ Santa Claus yelled, letting his worries out along with his deep, deep voice. The wind murmured in his ears as he took off. Finally contented, Santa jingled his bells. Rudolph motored his legs and galloped faster; the others followed more hesitantly, not wanting to fall behind. The toys in his huge, red sack loomed over him and some with sharp edges poked his spine. The dark, wintery night flew past his face as he edged closer and closer to earth. Today the moon was not shining, let alone the stars be bright. Not a single trace of dim light shone here, it was so lightless except for Rudolph‟s glowing, red nose. Rudolph puffed out his chest and held his nose up high letting a pale glow to light up the way. Unexpected-ly, everything went pitch-black. It was so dark Santa could not even see his hand, which was only a centime-tre away from his face. Santa caught his breath. He knew what was coming... He stared at Rudolph‟s nose, well at least where he thought it was, and saw nothing but swarming darkness. Oh no. Not now. He‟s already late and now Rudolph‟s nose just decided to “stop-glowing”. „Why me?‟ Santa moaned. He glared at Rudolph, although he didn't know where EXACTLY Rudolf was. All of a sudden, an idea hit his head. Santa delved through the pocket of his red coat and fished out a torch. It‟s dim, pale gleam lighted the way a little, but he knew that the battery was low. „Go to the moon!‟ Santa roared with exasperation in his voice. The deer pelted into the sky and towards the moon. Santa glanced at his watch. Only 10 hours left. A journey to the moon is about 2 hours long and that would give him just enough time to deliver all his presents. „Faster!‟ He yelled and snapped at the reins. The deer galloped fast-er and faster. A pale outline of the moon came to sight. Santa dismounted off the sleigh and stomped furi-ously to the man-on-the-moon‟s house. He punched at the door, angry gesture of knocking. The door opened. Hesitantly, a figure stepped out into the pale light from Santa‟s torch. „Light up the moon!” Santa boomed, gritting his teeth. „You must light up the moon or else the children would not get their presents!‟ The man on the moon stared at him with a blank expression. „Why?‟ The man on the moon asked calmly, as if not caring that Santa was in a hurry. „What do I get?‟ „You get the smile of happy children,‟ Santa replied, desperate. „Isn‟t that enough?‟ Santa pleaded. „Okay...‟ The man nodded solemnly. „But look Santa. I light up the moon with all the glow I can muster up, I hardly have time for myself! Besides, I get nothing in return. Whereas those children-‟ He snarled, pointing angrily towards Earth. „-do nothing except being goodie-children to their parents. And guess what? They get presents!‟ Understanding flooded through Santa. „Is that ALL you want?‟ Santa asked softly. „A present?‟ „YES!‟ The man on the moon retorted. „Just a present.‟ Santa nodded and delved through his red sack. Finally, he fished out a gigantic light bulb, and a circuit. Smiling politely, Santa handed the raging man the present. The man on the moon gasped. „F..For m..me?‟ He stammered. Santa winked. The man yowled in glee and threw his arms around Santa‟s neck. „Ho ho ho!‟ Santa laughed, pushing the man away. „I‟m in a hurry. You can use that light bulb to light the moon.‟ Without waiting for an answer, he jumped into his sleigh and whipped at the reins. All of a sudden, the moon glowed behind him and in the pale light, he thought he saw someone waved.

Wenda argued. “Its Christmas!!!” Jimmy shouted as a smile spread

across his face. He ran from his room to his parent’. “Its Christmas

wake up ,wake up,” his mum and his dad woke up and followed Jimmy

downstairs. “Time for presents!” Jimmy dived into the pile of presents,

and Justin flew downstairs and looked Jimmy with horror! “Where are

your presents?” Justin asked. “I don’t know,” Jimmy answered.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrring brrrrrrrring the telephone rang. “I’ll get it,” Jimmy

announced sadly. He picked up the phone and a familiar voice said

“Hello, can I talk to Jimmy?” “You are talking to him,” Jimmy said.

“Hey man, whats up?” Then Jimmy knew it was Austin. “Hey Austin,”

Jimmy answered. “Whats up man, someone stole my Christmas pre-

sents!” Austin said. “Really I didn’t get any either!” Jimmy replied

shocked. MEANWHILE......... When Jimmy was sleeping, Santa was

wrapping his last present and getting ready to deliver them when Elf 1
