PURIM IS COMING Purim Family Education - Sunday, March 4 On Sunday, March 4, the Religious School will sponsor a special Family Education Program. All families with children are invited to attend this exciting learning experience, which will include the delivery of"Shalach Manot" to homebound elderly residents of our community who receive kosher meals on wheels. "Shalach Manot" are traditional Purim gifts, which include candy and Hamantaschen. This program will begin promptly at 9:30 am.
PURIM EVENING MEGILLAH READING Thursday, March 8 6:00 pm RELIGIOUS SCHOOL PURIM SUPPER A light supper will be provided for the children in our religious school and their parents at the conclusion of Hebrew School classes in the Temple House. Your friends are invited. There is no charge. 6:30 pm CONGREGATIONAL MEGILLAH READING The entire congregation is invited to join us at 6:30 pm for a brief evening service and Megillah reading. Everyone, including adults, is encouraged to come in costume!!! We are sure you will want to attend just to see what the Rabbi and Cantor wear this year. Of course, following the Megillah reading and once the noise of the graggers quiets down, there will be hamantaschen for everyone. We will try to arrange carpools for those who wish to attend the Megillah reading. If you are planning on attending the service and have room in your car for another passenger, or if you need a ride to the Temple, please call the office, 201-333-4229, and let us know.

UADC DISASTER RELIEF FUND We have all been moved by the images of the devastation caused by the recent earthquake in India - the worst in 50 years. Entire towns and villages have been destroyed. Tens of thousands are dead. Many more have been injured, and untold numbers of children are left as orphans. Our Jewish tradition teaches us to reach out to those in need when tragedy strikes. The Union oflAmerican Hebrew Congregations has established a Disaster Relief Fund through which we can reach out to the survivors and provide them with the relief they need. Please note that all funds given to the UARC Disaster Relief Fund are distributed directly to relief organizations such as the American Joint Distribution Committee and the American Jewish World Service, which are well equipped to see that the funds are spent appropriately and wisely. Please send your donations directly to the UARC Disaster Relief Fund at the address below. This way, the money can get to those who need it without delay. UARC Disaster Relief Fund, Attn: Development Department, 633 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10017. Please include a note indicating that your donation is for India earthquake relief, and that you are a member of Temple Beth-El.
