Develops policy, design, and implementation strategies in the form of comprehensive plans, sub-area master plans (i.e., downtowns, town centers, waterfronts, parks), and development regulations. Evaluates land and site suitability using development regulations (i.e., zoning, subdivision, landscaping), GIS (i.e., infrastructure systems, environmental features, political boundaries), and field reconnaissance. Analyzes market data based on economic and demographic indicators to project growth and development trends. Participates in meetings (i.e., focus groups, interviews, hands-on workshops, public hearings) with advisory committees, planning commissions, city councils, non-profit organizations, neighborhood associations, business owners, and residents. Helps organize and publicize community events, including development of public relations material (i.e, press releases, door hangars, business cards, public engagement websites).
