I studied abroad in China for 4 monthsBy far the most influential and important experience of my undergraduate education. Although the program was located in Beijing, I spent a total of three weeks traveling across the country and learning about ethnic minorities in the Xinjiang province and Tibet. Traveling to China reaffirmed my passion and commitment to being an active member of the global community and to seek education through first-hand experiences.

YogaI sought out yoga as a way to balance exercise and mental health. After practicing for nearly 5 years, I am looking forward to pursuing a yoga instructor certification in the coming years. Yoga has become a passion and continues to teach me stress management, self-awareness and acceptance. I try to utilize all of these skills outside of the studio and in all aspects of my life.

CookingAlthough I’m still an amateur, I enjoy cooking. Cuisines and flavors from other cultures (particularly Asia) are my favorite areas to experiment with. Oh, and anything sweet…

Page 22: Kelsey Dunigan

Being OutdoorsI have been fortunate enough to grow up in the Pacific Northwest where access to nature and outdoor activities are plentiful. Whether paddle boarding, hiking, riding horses, skiing or camping, if it involves being outside and taking in the beauty of nature, count me in!

Ok, ok… So who am I?VALUES, PERSONALITY TRAITS, THE DETAILS

Page 25: Kelsey Dunigan

Organized and Forward ThinkingI keep multiple forms of calendars, to-do lists and so on. My life functions around organization and effective systems. This allows me to track the details but see the bigger picture. I am continually thinking about the future, how something can be done more effectively and how to make connections between data and events that many do not see at first.

Page 26: Kelsey Dunigan

Self-ReflectiveThere is something new to learn about ourselves and the world around us every day. Nobody is perfect and I take all experiences, negative and positive, and put them into a progressive plan to improve myself. I welcome opportunities to push myself and to learn from experiences.

Page 27: Kelsey Dunigan

Effective CommunicatorEffective communication through all mediums such as writing, presentation, speaking and so forth are necessary skills in a world filled with constant chatter. I am able to pinpoint effective messages to stand out. Formatting words in a convincing, impactful and concise way allows me to portray desired emotions, reactions and information.

Page 28: Kelsey Dunigan

Cultured and Global-MindedIt’s important for me to continue to learn about other cultures, different parts of the world and how similar all humans are at the basic level. Every action we take today affects someone else tomorrow. Understanding the interconnections we have with every human allows for more sustainable and impactful plans and decisions.

Page 29: Kelsey Dunigan

PassionateWhen my mind is set on a task or idea, nothing will get in my way of completing effective, transformative and impactful work. Guided by strong morals and ideals, I am able to decipher what is right and wrong and make a decision.

Page 30: Kelsey Dunigan

Trail Blazer I have always admired those who take the path less traveled and I try to emulate similar actions. Stepping outside of my comfort zone into new roles, cultures and positions not only excites me, but also energizes me to improve conditions and make a lasting difference for others.
