There will be opportunities to sign up for the sailing ECA throughout the academic year however places are limited and this will depend on the initial group size. Where possible, we will sail each week however this ECA is weather dependent; should the RHKYC decide that the conditions are not sailable, a decision will be made by 12pm to cancel the session; in this situation, parents will be contacted to arrange transport home for their child and a full refund will be provided for the session. If the weather at 12pm looks sailable and sailing is scheduled to go ahead however on arrival, the conditions are not safe for the children to sail, children will complete land based activities which are also part of the course and extremely important in the sailing process. Please note the changes to teacher supervision for this activity. Teachers will accompany children to Middle Island on the bus from school. Once they are at Middle Island the children will be the sole responsibility of the RHYC, the teacher will not stay for the duration of the lesson.
