HOMES THAT PEOPLE CAN AFFORD There are not enough homes to rent or buy that people can afford. Record numbers of young people cannot find a place of their own. Housing is one of my top priorities.

We need many more initiatives like labour led Stockport councils Viaduct housing company to tackle the shortage of housing.

ST GEORGE’S DAY CELEBRATIONS I called into the very enjoyable St George’s Day celebrations at the Rose Walker Community Centre organised by dedicated volunteers. I was also privileged to be invited to a special service held at Our Lady’s Primary School in Edgeley in remembrance of Stockport’s Normandy Veterans. We should never forget their sacrifice.

PROTECTING JOBS AND LIVING STANDARDSI will fight to get the best possible Brexit deal from Europe to protect local businesses and the people who depend on them for employment.

IMPROVING OUR AREAWe need parks for adults to enjoy and for children to play. The Labour led council has replaced and bought new equipment in play areas in Hallam Gardens and Alexandra Park.

Real Voices Are they being heard?

Child sexual exploitation in Greater ManchesterA follow-up report by Ann Coffey MP. March 2017

My top priority has always been giving children opportunities and keeping them safe I have written two independent reports about child sexual exploitation in Greater Manchester.

CRISIS IN SOCIAL CARE FOR OLDER PEOPLE We need more good care home places and better support for older people and their carers in the community. Help should be there for people when they need it. I successfully lobbied the government for a change in the law to help the families of dementia sufferers in care homes.
