KCS VACATION CARE

Schools out and it’s time to have fun at Vacation Care.

Our program of fun and educational activities is developed based on experience, feedback and suggestions from our educators,

families and most importantly the children who attend our service.

As well as engaging and stimulating in-centre activities, we offer themed activity days, fun and educational excursions and incursions

in a safe environment that encourages children to make new friends and try new things.

PLEASE NOTE:

Children can only attend an excursion if a parent/guardian has signed the excursion permission form.

Excursion places are limited; please book early to avoid disappointment and check your booking confirmation email to see if your

child has secured a place on their preferred excursion.

Preparing your child for the program:

Vacation Care runs from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and is held at MacKenzie Hall, Carlton South Public School, with entrance via

Ecole Street;

If your child/ren has Asthma &/or Anaphylaxis you will need to check in with the Responsible Person on duty on your

child’s first day of care and:

Provide an epi pen; and/or

Show that they have an asthma puffer safely & conveniently stored in their bag.

Please pack a healthy morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea in a cooler bag with a frozen drink/ice pack inside (no nut

products e.g. Nutella, sweets or junk food) – Breakfast is provided until 8:00 am daily

We are a sun-safe service. Children must: bring a hat every day; wear a shirt with sleeves (no singlets) please apply

sunscreen and if attending a swimming or water play program bring a sun safe (rashie or shirt).

For safety children should wear enclosed shoes every day to play sports or go on excursions.

If your child is attending an excursion please ensure they bring a water bottle and small backpack to carry their lunch, hat,

raincoat and any other items.

We are located at Carlton South Public School, Ecole St. Carlton, New South Wales.

Hours: 7am to 6pm during vacation care.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS): we are a registered service provider, so families will be able to claim CCS on their daily fee and in-centre

FRNSW will run an IFAP program to teach

our children about the role of firefighters,

key fire safety messages like “Get down

low and go, go, go” and “stop, drop and

roll”, etc.

Educational Lifecycle program enable

growth.

Aquatic Leisure Centre

(9-12 years old)

Travel by Bus to swim and slide with

your friends at Hurstville Aquatic Leisure

Centre. Children must be able to swim

test prior to entry into the pool. A life

guard will be on duty at all times. A great

Please note we reserve the right to review a child’s access to all or part of the Vacation Care program if their behaviour

affects their safety or the safety of other children or KCS Educators.

Authorisations

Yes No In the event of an accident/emergency I hereby give permission for KCS to arrange emergency

medical, dental or hospital treatment for my child/ren as appropriate, and if necessary transportation by

ambulance to a hospital at my expense for my child/ren.

Yes No I hereby give permission for my child/ren to leave the premises at Carlton South Public School

while under the supervision of KCS educators for emergency evacuation practices and activities in nearby

parks/community facilities (within a distance of 2 kms from the Service), I understand that risk assessments for

these practices have been conducted and are available at the Service.

Yes No I hereby give permission for my child/ren to travel, supervised by educators in KCS vehicles,

bus, train, ferry or on foot as required. I understand that in case of emergency, a KCS staff member’s car may be
