Old situation

• Over the years, the online presence has grown steadily, including the deployment of a large site aimed at Flemish clients and a separate French site for the clients of the CBC affiliate.

• All this has been driven by a proprietary content management system.

Issues• the needs and usage patterns of customers have changed significantly, including a shift from PC to

mobile users. For KBC this was reason enough to switch to a new CMS• important additional requirement that it should be easier to maintain, faster go-to-market • No segmenting, personalisation

• Adobe Marketing Cloud has a very mature and powerful solution for managing content in-house.

• Besides the many opportunities it offers, the solution will enable KBC to bring everything to do with content onto a single platform.

• Adobe Marketing Cloud also integrates with many additional tools and transactional websites. All this fitted in perfectly with KBC's strategic plan, in which customizable speed and flexibility is central.

Ability to deliverThe demand for a new content platform evolved rapidly from installation alone into achieving closer cooperation in which we would man and operate an in-house service center in combination with on shore and near shore development resources

The team is very diverse a wide variety of profiles, from functional analysts to front-end developers. In total: 14 to 20 people.

Projects for financial institutions are of course extra challenging • a strict legal framework. • Security• performance

KBC is one of the largest bankinsurers in Belgium and can get up to a million visitors to its website per day. AMPLEXOR takes care of the setup of the monitoring and performance testing. The fact that Adobe solutions are easily scalable is certainly an asset at peak times.

• In addition to these demands, there was of course the major challenge which formed the core of the partnership:

creating an omni-channel environment, where content is reused effectivelythe user’s desktop or mobile experience remains very consistent. It was crucial that the content of a particular topic contained the same message no matter where it appears.

Challenges

KBC has several websites. The transition from a proprietary solution to Adobe Marketing Cloud was a major step, • PoC: first create the KBC website aimed at business owners and SMEs: https://ondernemen.kbc.be. • The business owners’ site took on the role of proof of concept, a process which allowed us to develop

and test a number of key components. Those components would then be able to be reused for other KBC sites.

• Adobe was clearly the right choice, because along the way our feelings were confirmed that Adobe Marketing Cloud is ideal for large, complex environments, such as a financial institution with thousands of employees. The granular rights module makes it easy to define many roles and determine what can and cannot be done.
