Moe is the Executive Director of the Asper Foundation, and played an instrumental role in the creation of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. He has also helped to develop a myriad of initiatives in Canada and Israel including the Human Rights and Holocaust Studies Program. He received his Bachelor

of Commerce (Hons) and MBA in Finance from the University of Manitoba and began his career in government, achieving the position of Managing Partner within the Manitoba Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism. He continues to lecture at the Asper School of Business and was instrumental in creating the Asper Centre for Entrepreneurship at the UofM Faculty of Management, now the Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship. Moe sits on various boards including the Friends of the CMHR, the Associates, Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship, The Westbury Group, Philanthropic Foundations of Canada, and devotes his time to various charitable causes. In 2014, he received the Scopus Award from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He and wife Barbara have three children.

Harold has been a reliable and committed canvasser for the Combined Jewish Appeal for well over five decades. During that time, he served as an affinity chair for the Dentist division. A strong supporter of the Winnipeg Jewish community, Harold showed his community support by fundraising, and

canvassed for Israel Bonds, Jewish National Fund, and The Sharon Home/Simkin Centre. He served on the Simkin Centre board and is on its Board of Governors. Harold also canvassed for the Rotary Club, and is a past president. He practiced dentistry for 50 years and was president of his Alpha Omega dental fraternity. Harold is a past recipient of an Israel Bonds Maimonides award, and a Federation Shem Tov. An avid musician, Harold would often volunteer, along with his band mates, to play music at The Sharon Home and Deer Lodge. His love and commitment to community is shared by his wife Brownie, and has been passed down to their daughters Mira, Ellen and Deborah.

Baillie is a Winnipeg lawyer practicing corporate and commercial law at Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson LLP. The current co-chair of the Federation’s Young Adult Division, and an outgoing co-chair of the Ben Gurion Society, Baillie and her husband Daniel worked on a team that achieved BGS’s highest membership. A CJA canvasser, Baillie is co-chair of the YAD campaign, which this year obtained its goal to recruit 100 new donors. She is a past Health Sciences Centre Foundation committee member, and a current board member of Canadian Friends of Hebrew University, Winnipeg Chapter. Baillie has been a member of the National Young Leadership Management team since 2013, and was recently announced as its new co-chair.

Daniel became involved in the Winnipeg Jewish Community following the birth of his now 8-year-old son. A member of the Ben Gurion Society, he and his partner Robert have been co-chairs since 2013. Daniel is always willing to give of his time to work with up-and-coming donors and young leaders. He has hosted numerous social events, including a Shabbat Dinner for YAD, which helped educate those in attendance about Federation. Daniel co-chaired the 2014 CJA campaign with Bob Silver. He is the President of Pavilion Financial Corporation, and a director on the boards of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art.

DAN LAroCHE Aleph-Bet Child Life Enrichment Program

Dan is always willing to lend a helping hand. In addition to preparing snacks and lunches for the children, and food for the Community at Aleph Bet, he volunteers as a chef for the Viva Brazil/Alo Brazil Folklorama Pavilion, and is a past board member. Dan moved to Winnipeg from Nova Scotia to study at Chef’s School at Red River College. He and wife Daniela have one son, Cooper.

AAroN LoNDoN B’nai Brith Jewish Community Camp

A long serving Board Member, Aaron chaired the Camp’s Capital and Operations Committee for many years, providing oversight on Capital Spending. On the Board’s behalf, he led the negotiations for the Camp’s historic acquisition of thirty acres of Town Island. He also helped institute the “Man Camp” program, which offers adults the chance to have fun at Camp and encourages lifelong giving by its members.

LAurEL MALKiN Camp Massad

A former camper and counselor, Laurel is Past President and has been a driving force as Capital Campaign Co-Chair. She is Federation’s current Next Generation Initiatives Chair, a Women’s Philanthropy team member, and a past Lion of Judah chair. She sits on the board of Women’s Musical Club, and volunteers with the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and Kosher Meals on Wheels.

NiKKi SpigELMAN Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre

A dedicated board member for twelve years, Nikki is a past co-president, instrumental in growing the annual fundraising Tea, and strongly advocated for the continuation of programs and services for north end Jewish seniors. She attended BBYO, has served on numerous community board and PACs, and is a member of the Rosh Pina Sisterhood. Nikki is a social worker, wife and mother of two.

Sigi WASSErMANN Jewish Child and Family Service

For fourteen years Sigi has escorted elderly people to medical appointments, looking after every detail from confirming the appointment to ensuring a safe return home. Sigi also instructs chess club at Gray Academy. Born in Germany, his parents sent Sigi to England on the Kindertransport in 1939. He immigrated to Canada in 1952, and retired from the Convention Centre after twenty-five years. He and wife Jackie have three children and four grandchildren.

bArbArA goSzEr Jewish Federation of Winnipeg

Barbara has served Federation in numerous roles, including CJA canvasser and past Holocaust Education Committee chair. She played a pivotal role in the creation of the Holocaust Education Centre, is a past Chair and current board member. Through its Speaker’s Bureau, she shares her story as a Holocaust survivor. Barbara is also Past President of Talmud Torah, and a past WBJE board member. She has two children and four grandchildren.

ANitA NEviLLE Jewish Heritage Centre

Anita joined JHCWC in 2012 as Kanee Lecture Series Co-Chair, and then joined the board in 2013, continuing the tradition of community service set by her father and grandfather. She is a current board member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, and a past board member of JCFS and Friends of Hebrew University. Anita was a Member of Parliament from 2001-2011, and Co-Chair of Liberal Parliamentarians for Israel.

AiDA StroCovSKY Jewish Learning Institute

Aída is an enthusiastic and tireless JLI supporter, participating in countless courses, lectures and events, helping out anywhere she is needed. She is a current board member of the Canadian Associates of Ben Gurion University, National Council of Jewish Women Winni-peg Chapter, and a past board member of JIAS Canada. Aida moved here from Buenos Aires with her husband and two children in 1997.

DANiEL StoLLEr Rady Jewish Community Centre

Danny has served on the Rady board for the past five years and was President in 2013 and 2014. He served on the Federation board for one year and currently serves on the Asper Campus board and the Audit committee of the Jewish Foundation. Danny is the Chief Financial Officer with Cardinal Capital Management. He is married to Cara and father to Jacob, Josh and Alex.

ALLEN KrAut Shalom Residences

Allen joined the Board in 1995, is a past president and serves on the Lottery Dinner, Annual Fundraiser, and Expansion committees. He has coordinated High Holiday services at Herzlia Synagogue for 10 years. An attending physician at HSC and occupational physician at the Manitoba Federation of Labour Occupational Health Centre, Allen sits on numerous medical boards.

HoWArD CoLLErMAN Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre

Howard has served on numerous committees since 2005, including Companion Policy, of which he is particularly proud. He was vital in updating the Centre’s by-laws. He sits on the Seven Oaks General Hospital Board of Trustees, and is a Recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal. After thirty-two years as a Provincial Court Judge, Howard retired in 2008. He and wife Sandra have two children and three grandchildren.

LAurA DiAMoND Winnipeg Board of Jewish Education

Laura graduated from Joseph Wolinsky Collegiate in 1979 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1986. She has served the WBJE in numerous roles, from PAC member to President. She is currently their Governance Chair. Laura is a past president of Camp Massad, a past CJA cabinet member, is a past Federation board member, and also sat on the Manitoba Community Services Council.

Entering her 13th year as Cantor and Teacher at Congregation Etz Chayim, Tracy’s dedication and passion for Judaism are exemplary. Her leadership and innovative thinking have helped develop numerous educational programs both in- and outside synagogue walls, including Mitzvah Minds for young children, and B’nai

Mitzvah classes for children and adults. She is committed to offering a daily minyan at Etz Chayim, working with congregants to ensure that it will regularly be available. A JWC graduate, after completing her Bachelor of Education at UofW, Tracy joined Gray Academy as a general studies and performing arts teacher. She studied Chazzanut and Jewish music with various Cantors and Jewish educators, and began formal training when she worked with the Cantors assembly musical syllabus under the guidance of her long-time mentor, Cantor Sanford Cohn. Tracy is currently President of the Winnipeg Board of Jewish Education, and the Managing Artistic Director of Chai Folk Ensemble. She and husband David have two children.

Born in New York, Mara made Aliya with her family in 1971. She completed her after-degree in Education at the University of Manitoba in 1996, and has taught Hebrew and Judaic studies for the WBJE for the last nineteen years. Her mission is to foster Jewish continuity, pass on a sense of the divine uniqueness of

the Jewish civilization, and give students the knowledge required to take on leadership roles.
