March is quickly coming to an end to welcome April and warmer weather. With the new season approaching, we must also say goodbye-for-now to National Craft and Crochet Month. Across the nation, March is the time of the year when organizations and individuals promote arts, crafts, and crochet. Much like us here at Maggie’s Crochet, retailers host in-store and online sales and offer their patterns, products and services to all skill levels.

While all the beautiful accomplishments and patterns we bring to life by crocheting are enough to make us love our craft, crocheting is said to have some amazing social and health benefits:

1. Crocheting is therapeutic. It has a relaxing and calming effect on the mind and body.

2. It is known to help cope with health problems such as anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, addiction, and memory loss. The art of crocheting requires attention and physical movement, also allowing the crocheter to participate in physical therapy for an injured hand.

3. It is a way to create unique and personal gifts for friends and family. Whether it be the color and type of yarn or the pattern itself, using creativity and personal style is a great way to create one-of-a-kind gifts.

4. Crocheting is perfect for travelers. It’s a portable craft one can do anywhere making it easily accessible at any time. Never leave home without it!

5. Crocheting connects us with our ancestors. Crocheting has been a purposeful form of

entertainment for centuries. By taking part in this spectacular craft, we are instantly connected to the past and our crocheted creations have the potential to remain as heirlooms to our future family for years.

Much more can be said about the health benefits of the art and history of crocheting. It’s been such a beautiful craft and will continue to be popular among generations to come.

Crochet Concupiscence has some inspiring stories of how crocheting has helped others individually and in their community.

Bringing a baby into the family is always a joyous and exciting time in life.

There is family to be contacted, baby showers to host and attend, clothes to buy, preparation and schedule adjustments. One of the

best parts, despite all of the chaos, is choosing a theme for the nursery. Animals have continued to be an appealing and safe theme. Their soft fur and adorable faces remind us of cuddles and comfort. A safari-themed nursery, keeping with the

animal category, is an amazing way to introduce adventure into a child's life right from the start. Wee Decor has a fantastic example of a safari-themed nursery. Take a look below!:

How cute! This particular nursery photo looks as if it could be designed for a boy or girl and perfectly created to make the little one feel safe and secure. To view more of Wee Decor's nursery ideas click here.

the Perfect Tea Party

Colder seasons often leave us in anticipation for all the wonderful things Spring and Summer will bring as the year moves forward. Warmer weather inspires us to enjoy longer days, get outside and

use our imaginations. One of the best ways to greet warmer days is to host your very own tea party!

How to Host the Perfect Tea Party:

1. Make a Guest List: It's important to invite friends and family you wish to share this special occasion with (yes, stuffed animals count, too!)

2. Plan the Menu: Will it be cakes and cookies? Or cheese and crackers? Whether you choose sweet, savory, or a little of both, make sure to accommodate your refreshments with a beautiful presentation.

3. Send Your Invitations: Get creative! Invitations are an important part of any party. It's a good idea to have them reflect on the theme and dress of the event. Your guest is sure to be excited when they receive theirs!

4. Choose a Location: No matter if you choose to host a garden tea party outdoors or have a sophisticated set up inside, make sure there is enough room for conversation and cake!

5. Choose Your Decor: The most important part in tea party planning is choosing a theme, including the accessories and dishware. With so many options from color to size to shape, it's easy to find something that is sure to suit your style.

6. Relax and have fun!: The day is finally here! Your guests look spiffy and the food tastes fantastic. The only thing left for you to do is pour yourself a cup of tea, indulge in conversation, and enjoy the most perfect tea party of the year.
