    1.The Christ Episcopal Church Foundation isoffering two four year Florida Prepaid Collegescholarships to seniors who are attending a Floridacollege. Applicants with a prepaid plan purchased

    by their parents already may not apply. Also ChristChurch will be awarding an Educational grant tothose students who have a prepaid plan but needadditional funds. Applicants should be in the top25% of their class and show financial need.Applications for both offerings can be obtainedfrom Guidance Department. Deadline: Feb. 25,2011.

    2. KFC Colonels Scholars is looking for seniorswith a 2.75 GPA, enrolling in a public college/university in their state, be a U.S. citizen anddemonstrate financial need and entrepreneurialspirit. Awards are up to $20,000 for tuition, fees,textbooks, room and board. Applications areavailable @www.kfcscholars.org. Websiteavailable from Dec. 1 through Feb. 8, 2012

    3. Burger King Scholars Program is offeringseveral scholarships to seniors and employees whohave at least a 2.5 unweighted GPA and plan to

    4. The Jacksonville Commitment is open tostudents who are Florida residents, eligible for freeand reduced lunch and Pell Grant and have beenaccepted to one of the four postsecondary partnerschools: Edward Waters College, JacksonvilleUniversity, University of North Florida and Florida

    State College of Jacksonville. The application isonline @ www.jacksonvillecommitment.orgThis scholarship should be completed in the fall ofyour senior year.

    5. Washington Crossing Foundation. is offering ascholarship to students interested in a militarycareer, history buffs or politically involved.Applications @t www.gwcf.org Deadline: Jan.15,2012.

    2011/12 Seniors: BRIGHT FUTURESwebsite will open on Dec 1, 2011 forseniors with a 2.6 unweighted gpa andcurrently taking weighted courses. Toapply to all state of Floridascholarships. Students may register @www.FloridaStudentFinancialAid.organd click on State Grants, Scholarships& Applications. Then click the iconInitial State Student Application.Lastly, click Proceed to Application.

    HAVE YOU TAKEN THE SAT/ ACT? THETIME IS NOW! These scores are needed toshow all 2 yr. and 4 yr. colleges that youare college ready. FSCJ defines collegeready as a score of460 on SAT Readingand Math and a 17 in English, 19 inMath and a 18 in Reading on ACT. If

    you are not college ready then youmust take remedial courses at FSCJ whichcost money and are not credit earning. AlsoSAT /ACT SCOREScan be used asconcordant scores in place of the FCATrequirement for graduation. Theconcordant scores are:

    6. The PLAYERS Championship FirstGeneration Scholarship is offering a $2,000scholarship to first generation college seekingseniors who are accepted to UNF, eligible for PellGrant and show financial need. Submit yourapplication online ONLY @[email protected]: Mar. 1, 2012.

    7. The National Co-Op Scholarship Programoffers 155 merit scholarships to seniors with a 3.5unweighted gpa who have been accepted to one ofthe WACE Partner institutions. Applications areonline @ www.co-op.edu.Deadline: Feb. 15, 2012.

    8. The 2012 Universal Teen Scholarship Programis offeringscholarships to both male and femalesparticipants who are currently enrolled in highschools in the First Coast area. Orientation withparents is on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at 2 pm is

    required. Pick up applications in the GuidanceDepartment. Deadline: Dec. 16, 2011.

    9. Stokes Educational Scholarship Program isopen to seniors planning to major in computerscience or computer electrical engineering. Visitwww.NSA.gov/Careers for more information.

    10. Chartwells Thompson School Dining Serviceshas two scholarships available to seniors 1)willaward a onetime meal plan scholarship to a senior

    who has been accepted to a historically blackcollege. Eligibility is a 2.5 gpa and a 500 word

    essay and 2) will receive a one-time $1,000scholarship to be applied towards their post-secondary education. Applications can be pickedup in the . guidance department. Deadline: April13, 2012.

    11. The 2012 FAPSC Scholarship Program isoffering scholarships from $1,000 to $5,000 to fulltuition the scholarships which can be used forprograms ranging from short-term diplomas to four-year college degrees in a variety of programsincluding healthcare, cosmetology, computerinformation technology and culinary arts.
