krionA functional salt shaker made with a combination of lathe turned wood and 3d print.

research:

I found most of my inspiration from a conoid fossil. the flower stems helped to give me the idea of a twisting cage for my salt shaker.

modeling:

For modeling this project i used Rhino. Then once i had the model i sent it to the 3 d printer in 2 pieces and then glued the 2 halves around the wood.

inspiration:

This wooden spoon was inspired by leaves and nature’s organic shapes. It is functional in many ways and is intended to be used for salad, mash potatoes,or other foods to be served with a meal.

Inspiration from waves capes and sails.Intended deign area is equal from and function and made or a harer and more sustancial substace then plastic.

1. the mockups of my refined drawings were made. 2. refinements to the mockups gave me my final form. 3 orthographics were then drawn onto tow boards taped together. 4. three holes were drilled through the boards so the form could easily be taken appart later. 5. a dowel was incerted into each hole to keep boards taught 6. form was cut using band saw and then sanded with a belt sander 7. a dremel, files and sand paper were used to acieve the final form.

8. I pulled the scoop head out of the handle and taped it to avoid scratches 9. then a hole was carved out from the wooden modle to fit the scoop in 10. one half was placed onto a board and a box was made around it 11. silicone mold was poured into the box to screate the first half mold and repeated for second half with whole mold between silicone 12. the two silicone mold halves are taped together and fiber glass resin is mixed and poured inside 13. the scoop was sanded and primed 14. after clean prime coat scoop was painted and polished to shine with a rag

I chose the scorpion because is it nothing like a sled and I wanted to challenge myself to think outside the box.
