What We Do: Kaspersky Lab North America CSR

In the region, Kaspersky Lab’s company culture is built upon philanthropy, giving back to numerous causes such as

education, veterans’ wellbeing, animal welfare, health awareness, STEM initiatives and more. Throughout the year,

North American employees are encouraged to come together and volunteer in their local communities – whether

it be via in-office activities, off-site events or raising funds to support a good cause. Kaspersky Lab North America

incorporates employee feedback into its CSR program planning each year to ensure the company is partnering with

organizations that matter most to its most valuable resource: its people.

Kaspersky Lab North America began participating in charitable activities in 2008, and in 2011, the company formally

launched a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program. All North American full-time employees are given up to 24 hours

of VTO and part-time staff are offered eight hours of VTO per year, which employees can use with any non-profit

organization of their choice. Each November, the company also commemorates the “Month of Giving,” where in

the spirit of the holiday season, employees are encouraged to get involved with a non-profit organization each

week through facilitated events both in and outside of the workplace.

The company is a six-time recipient of the Building Impact Gold Impact Award, given to Boston’s most socially

responsible companies. The award honors the company’s continued commitment to social responsibility through

volunteerism and philanthropy within the local community.

A Letter from Eugene Kaspersky

Hello!

It’s with great pride that I share with you our company’s second annual (2018) Corporate Social Responsibility Report for North America. The region first began participating in charitable activities back in 2008, and ten years later – the company has made great strides in giving back to the community. And the best part is that we cooperate with organizations and causes that matter most to our North American employees.

While we’ve achieved a great deal, I know there’s a lot more to come. As a company dedicated to ‘saving the world’, I’m excited about what we’ll continue to achieve in 2019 and beyond.

A hearty thank-you goes out to all our employees who spent time volunteering, as well as to the non-profit organizations who partnered with us to make this an unforgettable year.

What We’ve Done: 2018 CSR in Review

Kaspersky Lab North America experienced a record-breaking year of volunteerism in 2018, supporting more than

30 U.S.-based non-profit organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Boston Children’s Hospital, Buddy

Dog Humane Society, Child Crisis Arizona, Greater Boston Food Bank, Junior Achievement, the New England

Center and Home for Veterans, The Jimmy Fund and many more.

During the year, nearly 150 employees volunteered in more than 20 initiatives facilitated by the company. Activities

included making cards for the elderly, visiting local libraries to read to children, stuffing backpacks with school

supplies to donate, competing in the Boston Children’s Hospital Corporate Cup, an annual adopt-a-family gift

drive, various road races benefitting local charities, as well as in-office drives collecting business attire, used books

and blood donations.

Tod Johnson, Enterprise Account Manager, Kaspersky Lab North America, used his VTO in 2018 to volunteer with

Habitat for Humanity, where he visited Almost Heaven, West Virginia. Starting from a foundation, Tod and a team

of high-school volunteers from Pennsylvania were able to erect a fully enclosed home structure for the family over

the course of the week. His team also completed a community picnic area for area residents during the week.

“Working with Habitat for Humanity is an incredible experience that allows me to give back to well-deserving

families in need” Said Tod Johnson. “Working for a company that encourages me to volunteer for not only

programmed events set up by the company, but for organizations that are meaningful to me, is an amazing

opportunity that more people should take advantage of.”

“Together, we made it a priority to give back to our local communities. I am extremely proud of Kaspersky Lab North America for not only celebrating 10 years of philanthropy, but for making 2018 a banner year for CSR. As a company that prides itself in corporate citizenship, I look forward to the next 10 years of record-setting volunteerism alongside this talented team.”

– Alena Reva, Vice President of Human Resources, Kaspersky Lab Americas and Europe
