Planning, supervision and coordination of all on-stream and shutdown inspection/NDT activities

heaters, PSVs, piping, pipelines, aboveground storage tanks, etc.
Inspects plant stationary equipment by entering into vessels, boilers and towers, during
shutdowns, to check condition of equipment. Includes noting observations on cracks, pits,
thinning and any other pattern of erosion, corrosion and other interior failure. Makes
interpretations of findings, analyses for failure, prepares report and issues recommendation.
Coordinates with the Operations, Planning and Maintenance supervisors such activities as the
scheduling and planning of inspections, obtaining the requisite permits and performing any
required special audits of equipment.
Carries out NDT tests on mechanical equipment and piping. Tests include Penetrant examination
(PT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), ultrasonic testing (UT), radiography (RT), PMI,
Metallographic, hardness tests, bore scopic and use of special equipment like elco-meter to
determine DFT of paint and Ferro meter for stainless steel welding tests and other tests and
inspections as required. Follows all required safety procedures while carrying out the work.
Witness hydrostatic tests and pneumatic tests on pressure equipment, valves and pipelines as per
Company policy.
Checks condition of safety relief valves, and reports findings to supervisor. Witnesses pressure
setting before and after repair and during any re-calibration campaign, as assigned. Prepares
report, schedules testing frequency as per policy
Upon failures of equipment such as pumps and vessels, inspect material and assist in the
preliminary failure assessments; prepare report and issue recommendations, where applicable,
via supervisor for action by relevant departments.
Inspects maintenance and capital project works being carried out in the plant, to ensure that
specified maintenance practices and procedures are followed for welding, installation and
fabrication as per policy and in compliance with international fabrication codes and standard.
Supervises and co-ordinates contracted Painting team, witnesses and inspect all painting
(external paint and internal lining), Wrapping, insulation activities, and carry out all required
inspections and tests (DFT, WFT, profile, and holiday test).
Ensures proper maintenance of inspection reports and records. Maintains various records in the
computerized systems, updating inspection test results and other data in specialized inspection
software system (Meridium).
Responsible for the support of Company safety, environment and Quality policies and programs,
carrying out specific duties and responsibilities related to job as spelled out in Management
system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentation, Management System Manual,
Safety Manual and other related documents.
Approving the QA/QC procedures, Inspection Test Plans and Quality assurance procedures and
NDT procedures of Contractor. Conduct technical and quality assessments of local
subcontractors.
Participate in quality audits. Assist in reviews of subcontractor quality dossiers and final system
compilation manuals.

of welding procedures and welders’ performance, welding consumable quality control, welding
inspection, NDT, PWHT, hardness test, hydrostatic & pneumatic test etc. Experience in all NDT
techniques (VT, RT, UT, PT, MT) & different types of equipment’s used for NDT and

Company Profile
Sadara Chemical Company is developing one of the world's largest chemicals complexes in Jubail
Industrial City in Al Sharqiya, Saudi Arabia. It will be located about 100km north-west of the city of
Dammam. Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara) is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and The Dow
Chemical Company. Sadara will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex
in Jubail Industrial City II.The fully-integrated complex will consist of 26 chemical manufacturing units
and be one of the largest of its kind in the world. It will produce about 1.5 million tons per annum
(mtpa) of ethylene and approximately 400,000tpa of propylene
The complex will also produce a variety of chemicals, such as amines, propylene glycol, polyurethanes,
low-density polyethylene, linear low-density polyethylene, elastomers, glycol ethers and propylene
oxide.
RESPONSIBILITIES AS SENIOR MECANICAL INSPECTION
ENGINEER/INSPECTOR (SADARA PROJECT)
Working in Assert Integrity department as Senior Mechanical API Inspector.
Experience Acting as a Senior Mechanical Inspector for Sadara Chemical reviewing inspection
reports, generating and documenting C.U.I inspection and remaining life data on piping and
equipment in to plant records. Reviewing and communicating with plant operation, maintenance
and construction personnel to keep facilities operating safely and effectively.
Identifying areas of special concern and deterioration (e.g., dead legs, injection points, buried
piping, corrosion under insulation (CUI), erosion & corrosion/erosion), preparation of inspection
procedures to follow-up their resolution to improve Plant integrity.
Walking down isometric and P&ID drawings, verifying piping has been installed to
specifications, conducting U.T.T. thickness readings and C.U.I. inspections in accordance with
A.P.I.570,510 criteria.
Carrying out initial, detailed and final internal visual inspection complemented with NDT
examination for the static equipment’s including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, coolers,
heaters and tanks etc.
Carrying out in-service inspection of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fin fan coolers, fired
heaters, process piping systems, pipelines and tanks to assure the mechanical integrity. Assist
and participate in RBI analysis and developing the inspection plans/frequencies for static
equipment’s, piping and pipelines.
Witnessing of pressure relief valves calibration and testing (Pop Up, Leak Test & back pressure
Test ) in recommended PRV test approved Labs
Cooperate and communicate with the Corrosion Engineer to investigate / resolve issues related to
corrosion/erosion.
Review and analysis of previous inspection reports to summarize the integrity status of the plant
equipment’s, piping systems and pipelines.
Writing repair recommendations. Drawing field sketches. Communicate with
Maintenance/operation Team and provide necessary recommendation for
any repair according to Codes & Procedures.
Performing N.D.E. examinations on piping, supports and equipment. P.M.I. testing of materials
and welding rod electrodes and evaluating damage mechanisms with corrosion engineers.
Review/Approve of WPS, PQR, WPQT, NDT, PWHT procedures & qualification of NDT

Inspect any completed repairs, modifications and/or replacement.

Responsibilities as Shift Engineer
Working on WARTISILA Diesel Engine 15MW.
Working as Engine Room Operator (ERO) takes the reading of all Engines
(Pressure, Temperature, oil level etc).
Working as Boiler Operator takes the reading of all the Exhaust Gas Boilers (EGB) and Steam
Turbine.
Working as Control Room Operator (CRO) Monitor and analyze all the activities perform in the
Power plant.
Working in Fuel oil LAB, to check the viscosity, density, moisture content and Flash point.
Take the reading of Engine Static Pressure, Engine Peak Pressure, Turbo washing, cleaning of
oil filters also the part of Training.
Monitoring Pneumatic & Hydraulic Systems.
Maintain Health; safety and environment regulations relating to the HSE department are met at
all the time.
Working as maintenance Engineer, involve in the maintenance of lube oil & fuel oil separators,
HT & LT coolers (plate type Heat Exchangers) Pumps, strainers, oil filters, fuel injector, Engine
cylinders etc.

Preparation of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS),Qualifying Procedure Qualification
Record (PQR)
Conducting /Witnessing Qualifying Procedure Qualification Record (PQR)
Reviewing of Mechanical Test Reports of Test pieces for PQR.
Check Fit up & welding by using different gauges like Hi Lo gauge, Cam Bridge etc.
Witnessing the Welding activities.
NDE Coordination with Production & QC team.
Performing & Witness of NDT activities like DPT, MT etc.
Coordination with client in the stage and final inspection of Job.
Preparation of dossiers & handover to the client.
