TennisKarachi Club became a proud sponsor of Special OlympicsPakistan by conducting Special Olympics Pakistan's NationalTennis Championship 2018 at Karachi Club. The tournamentwas divided into singles and doubles events where a totalof 10 children participated. The final was graced by thepresence of our Honorary Secretary, Mohammad YousufSuleman, Tennis Secretary, Ali Mansoor Zaidi and TennisSub-Committee Member, Adnan Amin. Karachi Club alsogifted Tennis Balls to each participant to encourage andpromote these special children.

PublicationFirst time in the history of Karachi Club, Publication Committee under theconvenorship of Abdul Ghaffar organized an event on “US Investor Immigration- EB5” that was broadcast live on social media. The event which took place onFriday, 9th February 2018 at Karachi Club (Main) Lawn, has been noted as thelargest gathering on the subject in Karachi.

Abbas Hashmi, CEO of Green Card Capital along with his team of experts ShahzadQadri, Partner in the Redmond, Washington office of Wong Fleming and Chairof their Immigration Law practice group and Najam F. Syed, Director of AssetManagement with Civitas Capital Group enlightened the august audience aboutthe benefits and opportunity about US Investor Immigration. The members tookkeen interest in the seminar and posed various questions to the consultant.The members also had the opportunity to interact live with the consultantsthrough WhatsApp.

Abdul Ghaffar, Convenor Publication, thanked his Sub Committee members,specially Mrs. Ruquaiya Bano Razzak and Mustafa Khalique who were instrumentalin organizing the event. The Chief Guest, Honorary Secretary Karachi Club,Mohammad Yousuf Suleman along with Acting President Karachi Club, AsimGhani Usman graced the occasion by their presence. The seminar was attendantby large number of members. Famous TV anchor, Nazia Malik hosted the event.Members Karachi Club appreciated Abdul Ghaffar and his Sub Committee forsuch a well organized, professional and knowledgeable seminar. The seminarwas followed by Dinner.

The first tournament of snooker “KC Single HandicapSnooker Tournament 2018” was held at Karachi ClubSnooker Room from 12th to 24th February 2018.More than 70 players participated in the event.Salman Billo and Ameer Hamza were the SemiFinalist of the tournament. Final was played betweenHammad Shaikh and Salman Merchant which waswon by Hammad Shaikh with a score of 3-2 in bestof 5 frames. Highest break of the tournament wasachieved by Ameer Hamza (-44). On Friday, 23rd February 2018, the Health & FitnessCommittee of Karachi Club organized under thenew convenorship of Amin Merchant, his firstseminar on the most essential disease “Diabetes” byProfessor (Capt.) M. Zaman Shaikh a renownedConsultant Physician, Diabetes & Hormone Specialist.Dr. Zaman explained in detail the symptoms andhow to maintain it to live a normal life likewise nondiabetic. February 11th 2018, our KC Lawn was flooded withkids when our Cricket Committee has organized aCricket Event “KC Tape Ball Cricket Tournament 2018”for the youngest group of the lot. It was no doubt asuccessful event where 144 kids participated and thebeauty of the tournament was that KC CricketCommittee had ensured every kid in the team eithergot a chance to bat or to bowl. A total of 16 teamswere formed and each team had 9 players.

After 8 Round matches, 4 Quarter Final matches,2 Semi-Final matches the team which faced each otherin the Grand Finale was KC Yellow (Maroon) & KC Yellow(Blue). KC Yellow (Maroon) won the tournament. CricketConvenor, Farhan Wahab Lakhany along with Cricket

Secretary, Rizwan Dewan and Cricket Sub Committeemembers remained at the venue throughout thetournament.

Our Chief Guest Mauzzam Pervaiz Hassan Khan, FormerHonorary Secretary Karachi Club gave awards to thewinning & runner up team members along withcertificates. All Man of The Match winners wereawarded Cricket Bat signed by Test Cricketer DanishKaneria.

Entertainment

Convenor Entertainment, Irfan Ayub and his SubCommittee organized 'Melodious Night' on the 24th ofFebruary 2018 at Karachi Club (Main) Lawn. The eventattracted a sizable audience from diverse age groups.The seating arrangement added to the atmosphere assome of the audience members comfortably enjoyedthe event resting their backs on 'Gao Takiyas'. Sara Hasan,Mazhar Iqbal, Talat Aslam, Shehla Shabbir, Nawab Naqvi,Sanobber Nasim, Sarwat, Shakil Jafri impressed theaudience with an enthralling performance, conductedby the talented Shakil Jafri. The intervals also includedwitty jokes by Shakil Jafri. Shaan Ali also sang Sufi kalaamand Zufashan Hasan played melodiously Sitar.

Honorary Secretary Karachi Club, Mohammad YousufSuleman was present at the occasion as well and saidthat they would try for a long-term affiliation betweenKarachi Club and the Alaap Group. Prof. Dr. Fouzia Khan,Chairperson Alaap, remarked that such musical eventshelp in relieving stress and thanked Convenor, Irfan Ayubfor a successful event.

First Badminton Tournament of the year 2018 underthe convenorship of Abdullah Khatri, BadmintonSub Committee organized “KC Badminton TeamEvent Tournament” which was held on Tuesday,27th February 2018. More than 30 players were participated in this tournament. After all the good matches finally Team Green whichwas led by Luqman Jawed won the title of the tournament by beating Team Blue led by Qamar Saleem. Secretary Badminton,Muhammad Dawood distributed trophies among both teams.
