DEMOLITION NOTES

GENERAL NOTES

1. THE EXISTING OVERALL PORCH PLANS ARE FORINFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELDVERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS, ALL PROJECTIONS THROUGHROOFS, AND ALL CONDITIONS.

2. BEFORE SUBMITTING PROPOSAL FOR THE WORK, EACHBIDDER WILL BE HELD TO HAVE EXAMINED THE PREMISES ANDSATISFIED HIMSELF AS TO THE EXISTING CONDITIONS UNDERWHICH HE WILL BE OBLIGED TO OPERATE AND COMPLETE THEWORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT. NO ALLOWANCE WILL BEMADE SUBSEQUENTLY IN THIS CONNECTION ON BEHALF OFTHE CONTRACTOR FOR ANY ERROR OR NEGLIGENCE ON HISPART.

3. NORMAL OPERATIONS OF THE FACILITY SHALL CONTINUEDURING DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION. IT IS THERESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE THEWORK WITH ALL SUBCONTRACTORS AND SEQUENCEDEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION TO MINIMIZEINTERRUPTIONS TO NORMAL OPERATIONS OF THE FACILITY.

4. ALL PROPOSED INTERRUPTIONS TO OPERATIONS, SERVICESAND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE REVIEWED WITH AND APPROVEDBY THE OWNER PRIOR TO STARTING SUCH WORK. UNLESSOTHERWISE APPROVED IN WRITING, ONLY WEEKEND OREVENING INTERRUPTIONS ON UTILITIES SHALL BE APPROVED.

5. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING EXITWAYS CLEAR. WHERE AN EXIT MUST BE TEMPORARILYBLOCKED, CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE REQUIREDBARRICADES AND DIRECTIONAL SIGNS FOR TEMPORARYEXITING AND SAFETY.

6. CONTRACTOR SHALL ERECT AND MAINTAIN ALL REASONABLESAFEGUARDS FOR SAFETY AND HEALTH INCLUDING POSTINGDANGER SIGNS, AND OTHER WARNING AGAINST HAZARDS,AS WELL AS PROMULGATING SAFETY REGULATIONS.

7. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESTRICTED TO AREAS SPECIFIED BYTHE OWNER FOR ON SITE STORAGE OF CONSTRUCTIONMATERIALS.

8. CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE CARE NOT TO DAMAGE EXISTINGSURFACES AND SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR RETURNING ALLDISTURBED SOD AND REPAIR ALL DAMAGED AREAS(MATERIALS, FINISHES, LANDSCAPING, ETC.) TO THEIRORIGINAL CONDITION. SURFACES SHALL BE REPAIRED TOMATCH THE EXISTING ADJACENT UNDAMAGED SURFACES.

9. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN A CLEAN WORK PREMISE ATALL TIMES AND SHALL CLEAN CONSTRUCTION SITE OF ALLDEBRIS AT COMPLETION OF THE JOB AND BEFORE FINALPAYMENT IS MADE.

10.CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL WATERINTRUSION AND WATER DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING INTERIORFOLLOWING EXISTING MEMBRANE TEAR-OFF.

11.ALL NEW ROOFING MEMBRANE, MEMBRANE FLASHING,PEDISTALS AND PAVERS, AND ROOF ACCESSORIESPROVIDED BY ROOFING MANUFACTURER SHALL BECONSIDERED A "ROOFING SYSTEM" AND SHALL PROVIDE A ULCLASS 'A' FIRE RATING AND F.M. I-90 WIND UPLIFTCLASSIFICATION

12.ALL FLASHING SHALL CONFORM TO MANUFACTURER'SRECOMMENDATIONS, AND COMPLY WITH RECOMMENDEDDETAILS OF NRCA ROOFING AND WATERPROOFING MANUALAND ARCHITECTURAL SHEET METAL MANUAL, BY THE SHEETMETAL AND AIR CONDITIONING CONTRACTORS NATIONALASSOCIATION, INC. (SMACNA).

13.ROOFING MANUFACTURER TO PROVIDE SPECIFIED 20 YEARWARRANTY, WITH NON PRORATED, NO PENAL SUM, AND NODOLLAR LIMIT WARRANTY TO INCLUDE THE ROOF SYSTEM.ALL OVERBURDEN (PAVERS/PEDESTALS) SHALL BE INCLUDEDIN ROOFERS WARRANTY.

GENERAL NOTES CONTINUED

CAUTION: CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE WORKER SAFETYBARRICADES AT ROOF EDGES IN ACCORDANCE WITH OSHAREGULATIONS.

1. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY ALL THE ITEMS TO BEREMOVED AS INDICATED ON THE PLANS WITHIN THE WORKAREA. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DEMOLITIONAND RENOVATION AS REQUIRED FOR NEW WORK.

2. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL DEMOLITION WORKWITH OWNER, ARCHITECT AND SUB-CONTRACTORS.

3. CAREFULLY REMOVE EXISTING LIGHTING BOXES AND FIXTURES.REMOVE CONDUIT AND CONDUCTORS BACK TO JUNCTIONBOX AND TEMPORARILY TERMINATE PROPERLY. REMOVE ALLNON-FUNCTIONING WIRES AND CONDUIT.

4. PROTECT/REMOVE EXISTING BRICK PAVERS TO PREVENTDAMAGE. DAMAGED PAVERS WILL BE THE CONTRACTORSRESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE, TO MATCH.

5. REMOVE EXISTING PLANTS THAT MAY INTERFERE WITHCONSTRUCTION. SALVAGE FOR POSSIBLE TRANSPLANT.

6. REMOVE EXISTING WOOD BALCONY AND STAIRS TAKING CARENOT TO DAMAGE ANY EXISTING FINISHES TO REMAIN. ALLDAMAGED FINISHES TO REMAIN WILL BE THE CONTRACTORSRESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR/REPLACE IF DAMAGED.

7. REMOVE EXISTING BRICK PAVERS NECESSARY TO EXCAVATEFOR FOUNDATIONS OF COLUMNS. SALVAGE FORREINSTALLATION.

16.CONTRACTOR SHALL SEPARATE ALL DISSIMILAR METALS WITHASPHALT COATING.

17.JOINT SEALANT MANUFACTURERS TO PROVIDE 20 YEARWARRANTY ON SILICONE JOINT SEALANT AND 5 YEARWARRANTY ON POLYURETHANE JOINT SEALANT. PAINTMANUFACTURER SHALL PROVIDE 2 YEAR WARRANTY ONEXTERIOR PAINT SYSTEMS.

18.CONTRACTOR AND INSTALLER SHALL PROVIDE 2 YEARUNLIMITED LABOR AND MATERIAL WARRANTY ON MEMBRANEROOFING SYSTEMS, JOINT SEALANT. PAINTING AND COATINGSYSTEMS.

19.ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH APPLICABLE OSHA AND E.P.A.REGULATIONS AND GUIDELINES.

20.ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE CURRENT FLORIDABUILDING CODE.

21.CONTRACTOR SHALL LIST AN EMERGENCY TELEPHONENUMBER WHERE HE OR SHE MAY BE REACHED 24 HOURS ADAY, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, DURING THE ENTIRE PERIOD OFCONTRACT TIME. THIS TELEPHONE NUMBER SHALL BEPROVIDED AT THE PRECONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE.

RENOVATION NOTES
