Kansas City as a top Summer destination
Wholesale inventory Network says that Kansas City topped the list as one of the best places to
visit in the United States this summer.
World Food & Wine Festival In its second year, the World Food & Wine Festival will be held at Worlds of
Fun, weekends from June 3rd thru June 12th. The best of local and international wines are available for sampling as well as the unique stories behind the blending of these wines. Samples include dry and sweet, reds and whites, sparkling, and port and sherry. Executive Chef Kevin Williams prepares a culinary treat to pair and complement the wines being served at each station.
Waterfest In its 35th year, the Excelsior Springs Chamber holds its annual Waterfest.
Running from June 24th through 26th at the Hall of Waters, the aim is to celebrate the city's mineral water heritage. The weekend-long event features arts, crafts, and live entertainment as well as water games for the kids, a 5k Run and a parade. Headliner bands as well as an EX-Factor singing competition also return this year.
Parkville Days Wholesale Inventory Network says this is one of the biggest annual
festivals, Parkville Days offers great entertainment and fun. The historic downtown plays host to the Evans Midland Empire Carnival, jazz and blues on the main stage, and end-of-summer sales from the downtown shops and restaurants. Dozens of art, craft, food, and specialty vendors will be in attendance. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and settle into this free event. Three wonderful days of fun await in Parkville from August 19th through 21st.
Kansas City Zoo Polar bears and penguins are in attendance at the zoo and last summer, a
new Orangatan Canopy opened as well. The 3,400 square foot outdoor habitat features the wonderful aspects of this world's largest tree-living mammal. Other features include the Endangered Species Carousel, a bird's eye view of zebras, and the Polar Bear Passage. The Zoo is open daily and is an incredibly affordable day's adventure.
