What exactly is “typical Kalkhoff”? A whole lot! There are countless arguments in our favour, and innumerable qualities which set us apart from our competitors. We would like to summarise the most important ones for you here.

1. QUALITY MADE IN GERMANY

Our toughest critics are the people in our quality inspection department. We have one of the most modern test centres in Europe, and our engineers monitor this centrepiece of our production. They test practically everything – from the frame and fork to the crank. Quality controls are carried out throughout the production process. Once assembled, each bike undergoes a 100 % functional check. Everything is done in Germany, by us – from concept and development through to production on site. For some that may be something exceptional. For us it is simply what we do.

2. EVERYTHING MUST HARMONISE

Too many cooks spoil the broth. We take this adage to the nth degree: unlike other bike manufacturers, we develop our bicycles ourselves. So we offer bikes in which everything harmonises perfectly, and which ensure consistently perfect riding characteristics coupled with the highest level of innovation. Take the e-bike for instance: we develop the drive systems in-house, individually for each type of bike, and in an appealing design. It is simply a coherent overall concept – right down to the last detail.

3. ALWAYS AN IDEA AHEAD

One of the golden rules for any cyclist is a daily reality for us: you don’t get anywhere by standing still. Certainly not when you are an innovation leader. The fact that we are constantly reinventing two wheels has helped us become one of the most respected bike manufacturers. The latest examples: our Impulse Evo and the sophisticated shift sensor technology. So not only do we ensure progress, we also stay an idea ahead.

4. COMFORT? NO PROBLEM!

Cycling has a lot to do with relaxation. But you can only relax when everything interacts as smoothly as possible. We offer our customers concepts which ensure exactly that – total comfort. These include ergonomic grips and controls, comfortable saddles and high-quality suspension forks and seatposts. The result: problem-free riding comfort.

Does success breed idleness? On the contrary – it inspires us. As proud as we are of our regular test wins, we’re certainly not resting on our laurels. After all, every award is also an acknowledgement of our hard work. And the motivation to keep developing the best bikes.
