Over the past decade, a lot has changed. We’ve seen advances in technology and communications we could not have imagined 20 years ago. We’ve seen our world grow more diverse and the globalization of almost every aspect of our lives. Bahrain has seen periods of economic growth and challenges and through all of this, we’ve seen the connectivity needs of the business community change, and we’ve grown and adapted our offerings to meet them.

Founded in 2005 as the first alternative service provider, Kalaam has grown from strength-to-strength to become the second largest ISP for enterprises in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This is largely due to our customers, who have year after year entrusted their business connectivity to Kalaam, thereby giving us the privilege to serve them with the dedication and speed, that we are disciplined in.

With the acquisition of Lightspeed in early 2014, Kalaam has emerged now as the company poised to be the next-generation market leader with over 17% marketshare.

We attribute this growth, primarily to Kalaam building and strengthening our relationships with our customers and partners in a sustainable way.

Nezar Al Saie has over 30 years of international investment banking experience in both Europe and the Gulf, and has spent 13 years as a Member of the Management Committee of InvestCorp, the international private equity firm. Further to being Chairman of the Kalaam Telecom Board, Nezar Al Saie holds several non-executive positions in the region including serving as a Board member of Amwal AlKhaleej, a large regional private equity fund manager and is the Chairman of Delta Partners Telecom Fund. He was also formerly a Senior Advisor for the Middle East to the International Investment Bank, Lazard.

Suleiman Maani Suleiman Maani is an Independent Board Director. Maani possesses over 23 years of comprehensive experience in Strategic Planning & Operations, primarily in Telecommunications and IT.

Yousef Al Quraishi Yousef Al Quraishi is Managing Director of Ali Zaid Al-Quraishi & Bros., Dammam, KSA. Prior to this, Yousef served for three years as Vice Chairman of the company. Yousef also serves as Chairman of Pipeline Technologies & Services, KSA, Audit Committee Electrical Industries Co., KSA and is Chairman of Saffar Holding, UAE.

Faisal Al ShoaibiFaisal Al Shoaibi is a principal Group Director at Shoaibi Group responsible for all of the Group’s international investments.

Basim Al SaieBasim Al Saie is the Managing Director and founder of Installux Gulf a joint venture Bahraini French company providing top end architectural aluminium products for the building and interior industries since 1997.

Walid Al ShoaibiMr. Walid S. Al-Shoaibi serves as the Managing Director of Shoaibi Group and Suhayl Bin Abdul Mohsin Al Shoaibi & Sons Holding Co. Ltd and also serves as the First Vice President Saudi Italian Business Council at the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Mark JenkinsMark Jenkins is the Chief Executive Officer and Group Director of Al Shoaibi Group and is responsible for overseeing all operations and also managing its direct private equity and venture capital investments.

Launched in 2005, Kalaam was the first alternative service provider with five licenses to provide alternate fixed line and wireless solutions to the business community in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In 2014, with acquisition of Lightspeed Kalaam became the second-largest Internet Service Provider (ISP) for Fixed Business Broadband in the Kingdom, next to incumbent with a market share of 17%, with cumulative client-base of more than 4,000 customers across all business segments.

Kalaam offers a full range of products for enterprises include data networking solutions, managed services, colocation, cloud services and a comprehensive suite of voice products.
