Kakadu locals. There are plenty of places to fish in

Kakadu, primarily from boats on the rivers and billabongs.

A number of companies offer fishing tours in the park, ranging from a few

hours to multi-day experiences. One of these

companies is Kakadu Fishing Tours who offer exhilarating Barramundi fishing on some

of Kakadu's breathtaking waterways. 

They have morning or afternoon tours, full day and

extended charter options including private fishing charters available upon request all year round.

The most popular fishing areas are flooded during the

when to see each walk. Some seasons are wetter than others, so the exact opening dates will change

from year to year.

If you’re bringing your own boat, it needs to be sturdy

and have a motor (no canoes or inflatables).

Because of the croc risk, it’s not safe to sleep in your

boat overnight, camp near the water’s edge or wade in

to fish. If you have any trouble with crocodiles, let

the local rangers know.

Morning Barramundi Tour Description

From the floodplains of the mighty South Alligator to the sandstone gorge country of the East Alligator and any

number of secluded billabongs in between. You will experience some of the best Barramundi fishing the

Top End has to offer.

With rod in hand absorb the sights and sounds of this

ancient landscape, abundant with birdlife and Kakadu's famous Saltwater

Crocodiles. All from the safety of your custom built 2011 6-metre barramundi

boat.

Kakadu Fishing Tours is one of a select few operators who meet the stringent

criteria required to fish in Kakadu. We are also the

only private operator who lives and fishes in Kakadu

exclusively.

The fishing tours are led by experienced guides, who will

assist both beginner and experienced anglers. They

will provide all of the fishing gear and will coach you to cast, retrieve and how to make your lure the most attractive to the Yellow

Water Barramundi.

Fishing is with lures only so there is no need for live or fresh bait. The boat has a

casting deck, seating, partial shade, iced water, refresher towels and keen guides full

of fishing stories.

And if you end up catching a fair sized fish, you can choose to

bring it back for dinner, or return it to the billabong to fight another

day.

The tour is suitable for ages 8+ and a maximum of four

passengers per trip.

Equipment: The vessel is a 2011 6-metre Custom built action Craft -

175 suzuki outboard. (4 passengers). Kakadu Fishing Tours

use Shimano reels and rods.

Inclusions: The tour includes transfer to and from Jabiru

accommodation, refreshments, fishing equipment, professional

fishing guide

Exclusions: You will need to bring a hat and sun cream, camera, loose

clothing

Child Policies: The tour is not recommended for children under

8 years of age
