A new scheme for KAF 2014 has been established with the funding from a Worcestershire County Council Arts Grant and the Xpressions Leisure Grant Scheme. The KAF Small Scale Commissions Scheme will commission 6 new works to be shown at KAF 2014 between the 9th and the 23rd of August. The scheme is looking to recruit artists from Worcestershire who will create a temporary piece of artwork, our priority will be visual art or mixed art form work, which can appear at the festival for a minimum of one full day. Artists should submit a proposal outlining their idea in full and stand to be given a grant of £250 on completion of the work. The festival is programmed around themes relating to WWI and proposals which link with this will be looked upon favourably. Considerations should be given to health and safety, appropriate use of space and appeal to our audiences. You must identify the site you would like to use in your proposal if you have a fixed idea, otherwise your work will be located to compliment other elements of the program. Please also state if you have a preferred date. Your idea must be new, or in development and have never been shown in Worcestershire previously. It must not make any permanent change to the landscape or buildings or require planning permission. You must be self sufficient throughout your installation process. Wyre Forest District Council will seek any appropriate permissions. We will seek to recruit at least 2 artists from the Wyre Forest out of the 6. Deadlines for proposals are close of business 28th of June and should be submitted by email to [email protected] Please call 01562 732 977 for further information
