[email protected] ASHE HALL - ASHE LANE - ETWALL - DERBYSHIRE - DE65 6HT June 2012 Welcome to our first edition of the Kadampa Primary School Derbyshire Dear Parents and Guardians, A big welcome to our first newsletter celebrating the opening of Kadampa Primary School Derbyshire. The School will open it’s doors for the first term on the 3rd September 2012. You are invited to escort your child between 7.15am and 8.00am to the main foyer located inside the main entrance of the School to meet the teachers and accompany your child on a brief tour. Time to play and learn The facilities and environment of the school allow for a great deal of outdoor learning. In the early years space there is a sand lagoon where children can play freely with sand and water under the trees. In the playgrounds a train and wigloos await to be part of a never ending adventure with the woodlands, grassland and pond bursting with colour, children will have fun exploring nature in fun and safe way. In the classrooms we have interactive smartboards that the children can enjoy learning interactively, as well as some Montessori materials and a GYM. A beautiful library gives children all the materials they need for reading and story telling and the soft colours of the assembly room are perfectly conducive for a short daily meditation. Everyday the children will learn something about themselves and the world. Our ethos An education that offers a wide range of learning experiences that challenge, stimulate and promote learning and thinking skills. An individual, child-centred approach that is driven by creative and outdoor learning and tailored to each child’s needs. Helping learners to achieve their potential, develop self confidence and self esteem where the process of gaining knowledge is guided by the teachers. The development of a love of learning that will impact children’s everyday lives, and is assisted by the older children helping the younger ones . A knowledge base that will aid the development of society A nurturing of spiritual, moral, social and cultural development with time for meditation and reflection helping children develop inner peace and deal with negative feelings. An environment of mutual respect and consideration for others and an appreciation for the wider community and environment. Children, staff and parents/guardians working together in harmony with the same aims.
