Artek presents the Kaari Collection, its first collaboration with Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. Based on a simple, yet intelligent standard component of a metal loop, Kaari – meaning “arch” in Finnish – is a collection that comprises rectan-gular and round tables in two sizes as well as a desk, a wall console, a small round shelf and larger shelves.

The system concept and the materials are fundamental parts of the Artek heri-tage. Similar to the way Aalto used the L-leg to support a variety of tables, chairs, stools and containers, the Bouroullecs combine solid wood with steel banding to create a system that is both practical and unique.

Despite this affinity with the Artek tradition Kaari has found an aesthetic of its own, making it distinguishable and a great complement to classic Artek designs.

Artek präsentiert die Kaari Collection, die erste Zusammenarbeit mit Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. Kaari – Finnisch für “Bogen” – basiert auf einem einfachen, aber intelli-genten Bauteil und umfasst neben rechteckigen und runden Tischen in je zwei Grössen einen Schreibtisch, eine Wandkonsole, ein kleines rundes Regal sowie eine Auswahl an grossen Wandregalen.

Das Systemkonzept und die Wahl natürlicher Materialien sind zentrale Elemente in Arteks Designtradition. Ähnlich wie Aalto mit dem L-Bein verschiedene Tische, Stühle, Hocker und Behälter stützte, kombinieren die Bouroullecs Massivholz mit Stahlbändern, um ein praktisches und einzigartiges System zu kreieren.

Trotz dieser Anlehnung an Arteks Werte ist mit Kaari ein Produkt entstanden, das eine eigene ästhetische Sprache gefunden hat und gleichzeitig eine gelungene Ergänzung zu den Artek Klassikern darstellt.

Kaari products are available for delivery from mid October for pre-orders placed before 31st May 2015. Kaari Pre-Orders sind bis 31. Mai 2015 möglich, Auslieferung ab Mitte Oktober.

Care instructions: Please use a soft, damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent for cleaning stains. Please speak to your dealer for additional care instructions, or consult a specialist for stubborn stains. We generally recommend the use of environmentally friendly cleaning agents.
