• Library as a place to access experiences and expertise via broadband networks not available at home

Library as web 2.0 enabled local history repository

• Unlocking community talent, knowledge, and historic and contemporary cultural artifacts.

• Library as a place for patrons to produce high quality audio and video, scan images and clippings to capture the history of the community through their eyes.

• Utilizing the Internet2 infrastructure to store and deliver the collections.

• Embracing “The wisdom of crowds “

• Web 2.0 = Library 2.0

….or maybe just start with world cup soccer! Library as I2-enabled sports bar?

We have a great community room with a large movie size screen of about 16x16 feet, a state-of-the-art surround sound system, air-conditioning, clean bathrooms close by and a great library cafe that offers coffee, soda and scrumptious food that can be eaten while you watch. For many people, our "community living room" offers better amenities than their own homes, plus you get the excitement of watching with others.

Under the deal, announced May 9, Warner Brothers will distribute and sell over 200 Warner Brothers movies and TV programs through the file-sharing program BitTorrent. Titles range from new movie releases Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to hoary TV chestnuts like Dukes of Hazzard and Babylon 5. While final pricing and timing is yet to be decided, the programs are expected to go on sale this summer, and TV shows could cost as little as $1 per dowload.
