On the 5th of May, it was our School Anniversary. At the beginning of the ceremony, there was a flag raising ceremony outside the playground. The sun was shining brightly.During the ceremony, they stood up and sang the national anthem in a solemn way. The Girl Scout and Red Cross members, were doing the foot drill, shouting the marching commands. The neat foot drill required instant obedience to commands and synchronized completion of said commands with the others in the unit. Under the blazing sun, they had to complete the drilling and tolerate all the heat, which was no easy task. That was the reason why teachers and students appreciated their efforts so much. Once the flag started to rise, our school orchestra began to perform. They played our school song. Along the music, the flag was rising gradually. Until it reached the top of the pole, it was waving in the breeze. I n the meantime, it also marked an end of the flag raising ceremony. Everyone enter the hall for next session.

raising ceremony.At the beginning of the worship service, Miss LEE led us to pray

and we sang the hymns together. After that, the pastor read us the Bible and had a sharing with us.

Also, the guests of honor gave some speeches of their congratulations on True Light?s anniversary as well.Apart from that, many alumnae also came back to their alma mater to join the celebration of school anniversary. One of the alumna, Ms. Cheung Yin Ting, gave us an inspiring speech sharing her the days back when she was in True Light. She said when she was in junior form, she once changed her exam mark and tried to cheat but turned out to get caught by Miss Ho Yuk Ling, who was her class teacher at that time. She said she was, and still be thankful for the guidance and teaching that Miss Ho had given her, and she still remembered it after all those years. Another sharing was conducted by Ms. To Yuk Fung, who was the Chairlady of the Alumnae Association and a former teacher of True Light. After years of teaching, she left and started her own business. She told us that she is eternally grateful and thankful for the days she spent in True Light.

S 1 Sun Fai Council Inaugurat ion Ceremony

S1 Sun Fai (2023) Council I nauguration Ceremony was held on 5th May, 2018 together with the Anniversary Thanksgiving Service. Hosting the S1 Council I nauguration Ceremony is a tradition of True Light to welcome the form one girls joining into our family.

At the beginning, all students and guests stood up to sing the school song. Mak Yui ki said a prayer and wished for a successful ceremony. Afterwards, Kwan Wai yan represented all the form one girls to give a speech. She said that all form one girls have joined in the True Light family for almost one year and the form one musical was a precious opportunity for them to earn a once-in-a-lifetime experience that they can be performing on the stage and participate in a musical by the whole form.

Next, all form one students stood up to sing the Council Song. After that, Principal Lee gave a speech to form one students. She wished that the form one students to have a rewarding school life and uphold the spirit of True Light. Then, Kishiro Riri represented form one girls to gave thanks to all the coming guests and parents. The S1 Sun Fai (2023) Council I nauguration Ceremony was held successfully, congratulations to the girls joining the True Light family. Hopefully, they can enjoy a joyful school life during the six year time in True Light.

This year?s annual secondary one inauguration,featured the musical Camelot, written and scored by Alan Jay Lerner and

Frederick Loewe. Director Eddie Shee, Music Director Li Si Lai, Choreographer

Chow Ho wan and Pianist Nok Lo, worked together and guided our fellow S1 sisters to perform the musical. After months of preparation and training with a hectic schedule, the girls finally had their shining moment and performed Camelot in the ceremony for the very first time.

Adapted from T. H. White?s novel of The Once and Future King, the story is about King Arthur, according to the prophecy whoever had the power to wield the sword of Excalibur, he was the one who was destined to rule Camelot. This plot was about the story of King Arthur and his fiancee, Guinevere. The couple were soon to be married, five years later with the help of Guinevere, King Arthur established the Round Table in the Arthurian legend, where every knight had equal status. Lancelot du Lac, a young Frenchman was determined to become of the Round Table Knights and serve the motto ?Might for Right?. During the performance, the students were in focused, they were in character as if they were these warriors and royalty. After several months of rehearsing during lunch time and holidays, their hard work finally paid off. The actresses on stage with the glamorous costumes and skilled performances were not the only ones to perform. During the performance on stage, all the other S1 students were wearing a T-shirt designed by their form council logo, acting as the choir for the musical. Without the help of the backstage, sound and lighting, and makeup team, the musical of Camelot could not have been carried out with great success.
